Volvo Car Corp. is recalling more than 40,000 XC90 cars in the U.S. due to a potential problem with the battery.
Volvo said it was recalling 42,211 2005-model Volvo XC90s sold in the U.S. to make the cars had not been serviced in a way which created the risk of a short-circuit of the car battery.
Volvo is owned by the Ford Motor Co.
