After-Hours Justin Timberlake Appearance a Scam? |

|
By Mark Huffman March 2, 2007
Based on information received from the entertainer's spokespeople and Jive Records, Timberlake's recording label, it appears that such an appearance is not happening and consumers should not purchase tickets to any such after-hours event. It is alleged that a local promoter for the after-hours event was offering tickets for $100 on the Internet. The Internet promotion has been removed. According to the entertainer's manager, recent promotions advertising the appearance of Justin Timberlake for an autograph session at Sharky's in Roundlake are false:
In addition, Madigan said that her Consumer Protection Division is looking into the matter to determine whether there have been any violations of the State's Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Practices Act. "If anyone has purchased tickets for this event, and has trouble getting a refund from the promoter or from the establishment, I would encourage them to dispute the charges directly with their credit card companies or contact my office for assistance," said Madigan.
