Florida Pharmacy Offers Generics Online for $3.79Generic Drug Price War Intensifies |

November 3, 2006
MyFloridaPharmacy.com said its prices on most other drugs will beat not just the two U.S. giants but many Canadian Internet pharmacies as well. "Starting today, we will beat Wal-Mart and Target on the price war they started in Florida, and we are prepared to ship these drugs at these low, low prices to people across the United States," said Milton R. Benjamin, managing director of MyFloridaPharmacy.com. The prescriptions will be filled and shipped by an independent pharmacy, Prescriptions Plus of Wellington, Florida, which has been licensed as a community pharmacy by the Florida Board of Pharmacy for eight years. Prescriptions Plus is currently able to ship prescription orders to more than half of the states, and is seeking approvals in states where it is not currently licensed. Benjamin said MyFloridaPharmacy.com also intends to select seven of the drugs from the Wal-Mart list each month, and as that month's special, provide a two-month supply -- instead of Wal-Mart's one-month supply -- for $3.79. Benjamin said there is a charge for mailing most prescriptions (orders above $99 ship free). But MyFloridaPharmacy.com said it has discounted the shipping charge to equal the average national cost of one gallon of gas (currently about $2.30). "Most people cannot drive to a Wal-Mart or a Target and back on a gallon of gas, so we are beating the giants not only on prescription prices but on the cost of getting the medications as well," Benjamin said. "Our prices on virtually all U.S. prescription drugs -- brand name or generic -- will be the lowest to be found at any American pharmacy," Benjamin said. "The best news is these low prices are on American drugs, approved by the FDA, with prescriptions filled by a licensed Florida pharmacist, and shipped to you from within the United States," Benjamin added. "When you get your drugs from a Florida pharmacy, you don't have to worry about whom you are dealing with, what you are getting -- or whether you will actually get it," Benjamin added.
