The Boston-New York service is in addition to new flights from Logan to West Palm Beach, Fla., beginning Nov. 8 and Nassau, The Bahamas, beginning Feb. 2. The company will also add flights from Boston to Austin, Texas, and Richmond, Va., and will increase service to Burlington, Vt. and Buffalo, New York.

Jet Blue is selling off $25 one-way fares to and from the Big Apple and the Hub to customers who order tickets before Oct. 20 and travel between Nov. 8 and Dec. 14. Regular rates to New York will range from $40 to $120 each way.

The discount airline says it will triple its roster of flights out of Boston by April 2006. It's hoping to build a loyal customer base by adding cheap and direct flights on routes where many locals take the bus or Amtrak's Acela service.

The expansion coincides with the addition of the Embraer 190 to Jet Blue's fleet. The new jet has 100 seats, carries 100 XM Satellite Radio channels and is more fuel efficient than many other aircraft, the company said.

"We will add one more gate at Logan every six months over the next three years, and we will take delivery of one new E190 aircraft every 20 days in 2006 and 16 new Airbus 320s next year,"said JetBlue's CEO David Neeleman.

Austin

JetBlue will begin service to Austin from Boston beginning January 19, 2006, with an introductory sale fare of $79* each way. This sale fare must be purchased by October 31, for travel between January 19 and February 14, 2006. The carrier's regular fares in these markets will range from $129* to $299* each way.

Richmond

New York-JFK service to Richmond will begin March 31, 2006, with regular fares ranging between $59* and $134* each way. Boston service to Richmond will begin April 6, 2006, with regular fares between $69* and $144* each way.

West Palm

JetBlue will begin nonstop service between Boston and West Palm Beach Nov. 8, 2005 with two daily flights, adding a third daily nonstop flight Dec. 20, 2005. The airline will offer an introductory sale fare between Boston and West Palm Beach, Fla. of $69* each way. This sale fare must be purchased by October 31, 2005, for travel between November 8 and December 14, 2005. Blackout dates from November 22-28 will apply. The carrier's regular fares will range from $99* to $299* each way.

Based at New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport, JetBlue currently operates 306 flights a day and serves 33 destinations in 14 states, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and The Bahamas.
