Ohio Sues Greentree Health Systems |

January 20, 2005
"When a company is unable to deliver a good or service," Petro said, "it must offer some reasonable means for the consumer to be reimbursed in a timely manner. If that is not possible, the company should not be allowed to continue doing business in Ohio." Greentree advertises through the Internet, direct mail and general marketing to solicit consumers throughout the United States to purchase its products, which include magnetic mattress pads. The solicitations were aimed primarily at senior citizens through the use of a free meal to entice prospective customers to the meetings. Petro is asking that Greentree provide consumers with the products they ordered or full refunds. The complaint also asks the judge to order Greentree to stop doing business in Ohio until all such refunds or products are delivered to consumers. The complaints allege violations of the Consumer Sales Practices Act. If found guilty, Greentree may face a civil penalty of $25,000 per violation. Report Your Experience
