Sept. 10, 2005 Ford Motor Co. will extend its employee discount plan through September 30, but won't extend the discount to 2006 models as General Motors has done, Automotive News reported.
Ford had planned to end the discounts Sept. 6. It had included 2006 models of the Escape and Expedition SUVs, E-series vans and wagons and F-350 pickups in the discount program but now says the discount will be removed from most 2006 models.
Ford's sales chief says this is the last extension and Sept. 30 will mark the end of the program. The company needs to move on to launching its new models, Steve Lyons told the industry publication.
