DeWayne of Oakland, CA, writes:
The moving company delivered the following items in the following condition (and I have pictures):

  1. Bed post -severed, broken in half
  2. Double dresser mould torn off and a great gouge taken out of the corner.
  3. Nightstand gouged on top and knobs for drawers missing. The surface of the nightstand is scarred from poor handling.
I completed the claim process including getting three estimates and getting all the forms notarized. I sent the papers in with the help of an attorney and have since then just received the run around from the employees. My lawyer finally talked to the manager on December 18, 2000. We sent in the claim on November 6, 2000. We have received no information at all. I am extremely frustrated.

I'm not asking for an unreasonable amount of money - approximately $600.00 so it's hardly worth the stress of suing in Small Claims Court but at the same time it's frustrating knowing that the movers can get away with this.
