Three Men and A Truck

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

This company is a true rip-off company.

1) They were 1.5 hours late arriving for my move because they had to go pick up a truck, but never called to tell me, so I waited for them for 1.5 hours.

2) They take your credit card information up front and charge the amount before the move is ever completed, and if anything goes wrong, there is no apology or compensation, because they have your credit card information and they basically have all the control.

3) They charge you 10% Gas charges, which they also don't tell you up front, you only find out when you get ready to sign on the dotted line.

4) They charge you a very high percentage if you use a "Credit Card", which they also don't tell you up front.

5) They charge you a minimum of 4 hours, which they also don't tell you up front, and most other companies charge only three hours.

6) Most of their work guys speak little or no English, so forget about giving directions to anyone. Andrew, the owner, offers no apologies, and will basically call you a "liar" in order to not have to compensate for anything! This is the worst moving company I have ever worked with. My suggestion is start off with a different company, or once they get your information, you are screwed! All together my "extra fees" for gas and credit card were close to 100.00.

Recently (Fall '09) moved my office. In the old space, they ripped the carpet, gouged walls (all the way through). They did NOT use any blankets on the furniture. They stacked the furniture in the truck, nicking, breaking, marring, etc.

I had a quote to move all of the furniture from a reputable moving contractor for $2k. During the build out in the new space, half of the furniture needed to come. I called 3 Men & Truck because we would move the second half ourselves making it an 'easier' job. Mistake. It ended up that 3 Men & Truck charged me MORE than the other quote for half the work.

Finally, at the old space, having seen some of the damage occur, and finding out they had no tools what-so-ever to take a couple larger pieces apart (they said they would) -we called and asked for a supervisor to come immediately. The response - there is no one here to come out!

I submitted 30 pictures to them and invited them out. Their response is that our furniture is old and would not come out to see it. He said how old is it - I said 4-9 years or so. He asked how many times has it been moved - I said none. He immediately changed the subject. We have replaced and thrown away some of the pieces. I may still sic my lawyer on them.
