People's Mayflower
Canton, Ohio

Tony of Fredonia, WI, writes:

Stough Enterprises of Ohio offered me a job in Milwaukee, WI.  I accepted the position with the agreement that they provide moving expenses and corporate housing for myself and my fiancee and her children.  The company insisted that the moving expenses be billed directly to them.

While in Milwaukee Chris of People's Mayflower met with my fiancee at my residence and then drove to her residence to provide estimates.  Peoples demanded a creidt check from Stough and all payment arrangements were made directly between Stough and People's Mayflower.

The estimates were provided to Stough as both sets of furniture were put into a storage facility while we resided in corporate housing until we found a home.

After finding a home we had our furniture delivered to Wisconsin.  The furniture was damaged and we filed a claim against the full replacement value insurance we had  elected for almost $10,000.

It seems People's Mayflower lost or never had an agreement  signed with Stough.  The $3,000 estimate became $6,000.  upon billing.  Stough refused to pay.

Meanwhile the company fires me.  I forwarded my employment contract from the company to People's Mayflower in hopes of settling my insurance claim.  They then refuses to pay my fiancee's portion of the moving expenses stating that People's Mayflower could not prove they were obligated to pay because they only had a verbal agreement.

Therefore, People's is now suing me for $2,700 and refuses to pay my damages of almost  $10,000.  Additionally, some of my belongings were stolen.

Now, I am in a strange state with a woman and 3 children left out in the cold as soon as I put up all my money for a home.  I have $10,000 of furniture intentionally destroyed and People's Mayflower is suing me for $2,700.

I feel like putting a gun to my head. I will most likely file a chapter 7 because of this and we may end up homeless.
