Morton Van Lines

Cathy of Lakeside MT (03/14/08)
I also was ripped off by Morton Van Lines. My life long belongings were picked up at Sunnyvale, CA on 1/13/08 to be delivered some time between 2/1/08 and 2/5/08. I am now having to fly to Albuquerque N.M. and renting a Ryder truck to bring my things back home. That's what I can barely afford to do after Paying Morton $1400 for my move. I also have been raught with anxiety and stress from wondering where and what happened to my things. I just get nauseated when I read about the family that paid Morton to move them to Ireland and the woman attorney who paid them several thousands to move her family to another country as well -- it's been months and she still doesn't have her things either -- UNBELIEVEABLE -- I pray someone takes this into their legal hands and can pull together a class action suit against these people because it you do a Morton Van Lines search you'll be amazed at what you find. Also on rip-offs.com, etc. Cathy

Stress, hundreds more dollars, loss of work at new job to go retrieve my things -- back is a mess from sitting on a fold up lawn chair and sleeping on a blow up bed.

Armin of Dublin Ireland (03/04/08)
We found Morton Van Lines through a web search that compared moving companies. I spoke with a few representatives from the company, and they assured me they could handle our move from St. Louis, MO to Dublin, Ireland. We paid them $2,500, a local moving company picked up all our worldly possessions, and we moved in late September. As time went by I wanted to check on the status of our possessions. I eventually got in touch with reception, and was given a date of Feb. 25th for delivery--5 months later! Feb. 25th came and went, and our goods did not arrive. I started calling up the supply chain and found our possessions still in St. Louis with the local company that picked it up. I believe Morton Van Lines never planned on delivering our goods. I try to call and email daily, but cannot get a response from Morton Van Lines.

Since we cannot get in contact with the company, we cannot get a refund. We have yet to check on the condition of our possessions for possible insurance claims since we are out of the country. We will need to have another company move our goods, and we will have been here almost one year without having my, my wife's, and my baby's things. We have had to purchase numerous things we already own because we cannot do without for any longer. My entire family is frustrated beyond measure. My wife has had to consult a doctor for the stress that this has caused. What a terrible situation!
