I have never heard of this company (Prado Electronic Cigarette) or ordered anything from this company, ever! I do not smoke nor am I trying to quit! This company is charging my credit card $200.00 for nothing! My credit card is through my bank and an investigation has been opened. Thankfully I will be refunded. Beware!
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I purchased the Prada E-Cig. After 2 months, it no longer charges. I want a new one.
I thought I was getting the "free" trial for something under $15.00! The product is a scam. Before I knew it, I was getting refills at almost $69.00 a pop where my "free" trial was now over $200.00! I tried to contact them about what was happening, but I got no satisfaction from them whatsoever! A girl I spoke with said to me, after I said that I would not pay, "we already have your money!". To be perfectly honest, I didn't read the whole ad! It was my fault, buyer beware! I thought that they would sympathize with my plight. Not a chance! They did stop sending the refills, but I was stuck for the $200.00 plus bill. I finally contacted the BBB (Better Business Bureau) who initially, more or less, conceded that I was stuck for the bill! The most, it seemed, that I could do was file a complaint that would hurt their business rating! Finally, after I guess 2 to 3 months, they removed the charges from the credit card!

I was driving back from the airport with an 89 year old, and smoke started coming out of my pocket. I grabbed it and the mouth piece had melted and burned me. It almost caused a car wreck. I am going to sue you. I just wanted to make sure I get the right people, and yes I am pissed off, so you will be hearing back from me or my attorney.

Prado is a scam. Do not get hooked into ordering the free trial because there is no free trial. You get the initial order and are billed each month thereafter, about $69.00 for refills. You cannot cancel the order because they will not cancel it even if you request. The only way to cancel future orders is to contact your credit card provider and request that all payment to Prado be cancelled. Don't get hooked into this scam because it is just not worth the effort. Instead buy the electronic cigarette elsewhere because they are being sold everywhere.

I ordered 1 complete set of quit smoking kit. From that time on, Prado kept sending me 4-boxes of atomizer with 4 cartridges inside, on a monthly basis, and worse, Prado automatically charged my bank card. This is not right. I want Prado to stop sending me future orders that I did not order, especially their way of automatically crediting my bank card, without my permission. I would like to file for damages against Prado, but I don't know how to start.

My husband and I saw the free trial offer for Prado smokeless cigarettes and thought we'd give them a try. Why not? All you had to pay was the $12.95 for shipping. We waited anxiously for the starter kit. When it arrived, we charged them up and it started smoking. They worked great for the first 24 hours. After that, they quit working, not because they weren't charged or the cartridge was old. Worse than the fact that we were sent a sub-par product, was the fact that without warning we were charged $150.00 for the trial. Then, Prado started sending refills at $70.00 per month. I tried multiple times to get in touch with the company. But every time I called, all I got was a message that said, "Please try calling back later." This is a scam. I'm still fighting to get this service canceled. They get your credit card number and keep charging every month. I think they've tried taking a total of almost $500.00 from me at this point. I hope that others will read this and save themselves the pain and monetary loss this "free trial" has caused me.

I am writing this to document my complaint concerning the purchase of the Prado Starter Kit solicited to me via my email.
When I saw the offer to purchase a starter kit for only $12.95, I purchased it for my son who smokes. At no time was it made clear that I was authorizing future purchases or that I was entering into a trial that would expire within a limited number of days, resulting in regular purchases of filters. Perhaps you need to be more upfront, highlighted in red, printed on every page, etc. about the details of the offer.
I expected a charge of $12.95 for the starter kit plus whatever S&H was added. When our credit card statement arrived and showed a charge of $149.90, I was unpleasantly surprised! I definitely did not order something at that price, not knowing if my son was even interested in trying it. As it turns out, he hasn't tried it. On 8/14/11, I called your customer service number to find out what was going on. The operator told me the $12.95 was for S&H and the $149.90 was for the starter kit. I told her I didn't want it if it was that expensive. She told me I had agreed to the terms, and the best she could do was give me a credit of $40.00 (reference #**). I did not verbally agree to this offer. I told her I want to cancel any future items scheduled to be charged to my credit card. She agreed to do that for Sept., Oct., and Nov. and beyond (confirmation code #**).
In the past, whenever I requested a refund for a product I didn't order or was unhappy with, legitimate companies have apologized and given me a refund. I also asked to speak with a supervisor and was told Barb would call after 3pm. Guess what? No call. Lo and behold, in the mail on 8/15/11 (the very next day) were 2 boxes of filters. I'm concerned, I'm now out the additional charges of the $69.90 price of the filters plus possible S&H!
Unfortunately I need to tell you what I believe is necessary to resolve this situation:
I want the costs of all charges to my credit card refunded. Costs on my credit card statement total $192.75. By offering me a reduction of $40.00, it appears you recognize the online offer was unclear. If you can make that refund offer of $40.00, you can refund the cost of products I didn't want and didn't order. If you don't settle with my credit card, I want a check mailed to me. My credit card company has been notified and will not accept further charges from your company. After the credit has been made or I have received a check, I will return the unused products if you wish. I am registering a complaint about your company with the Consumer Protection agencies of both Washington's and Arizona's Attorneys General.
In addition, I am reporting your company to the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection, and ConsumerAffairs.com. Considering the many complaints I've seen on the internet, it won't be long before your company will no longer be able to scam so many people who just want to find a way to quit smoking for their health and budget. Shame on you for taking advantage on hardworking people who just want their lives to improve.
1st charge $ 12.952nd charge $149.90
3rd charge $ 69.90
Subtotal $231.85
Less credit $ 40.00
Total $192.75

I ordered a "free trial" and paid the $12.95 shipping charges. Two weeks later, they charged my credit card $149.90 for two small packs of filters, which I didn't order. I only ordered the free trial!
What a joke! Now I can't get in contact with them!

I ordered a "free trial" and paid the $12.95 shipping charges. Two (2) weeks later they charged my credit card $149.90 for a kit I didn't order. I only ordered the free trial! A total scam!!! Now they have my credit card number, will they continue to charge me???

I ordered 3 of these useless products. The trial period was not specific and I was charged $149.90 plus $69.90 for automatic shipments. None of these cigarettes work and you have to charge it after 5 puffs!
Customer service is useless. They can barely speak English, reads from a script, and tells you how wonderful the product is after you just complained! Rippedoff again! Buyer beware.

I ordered their 'free trial' product and was charged $149.90 (more than was advertised) before the trial period was over. I called and couldn't reach anyone; then waited until the next shipment came hoping I could send it back and cancel. No information included; so, I tried the phone number listed on my credit card for the company. I always get the message to call back during business hours, no matter what time it is. I live in Florida and supposedly they are in AZ; so, you would think they would have business hours when I could reach them. Ridiculous.

To anyone out there thinking of ordering a Prado E-Cig ... DO NOT DO IT!!!
I ran across a Prado website while browsing for electronic cigarettes. They had a "14 Day Free Trial" offer listed.
I went ahead and placed my order for a Prado Premium Starter Kit and USB Charger on July 12, 2011. I had to give my Credit Card Info for shipping fees of $31.80. I paid extra for Rush Shipping.
After I placed the order online, I did a Google Search for "PRADO ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE".
HOLY COW ... My search results were page after page of complaints and scam warnings.
I immediately contacted my Chase Credit Card Fraud Department to inform them of the situation. They canceled my card, issued me a new card and reversed the $31.80 charges.
I contacted Prado at 877-647-3735 and got a woman named Cyrel in Customer Service.
I explained to her that I wanted to cancel my order and cancel my account with them. She told me the order could not be canceled and I had to wait for the shipment to arrive before I could cancel my account.
She had a VERY thick foreign accent. I asked if she was located in the USA. She said she was. She was VERY rude and monotone ... like she was reading from a prepared text.
I asked to be transfered to a supervisor. She put me on hold for about five minutes. When she came back on the line, she seemed "surprised" that I was still there.
I again asked for a supervisor and she said there was not one available. I then DEMANDED that I speak with ... my exact words, "The biggest swingin' dick in the building!".
I told her my Credit Card Company Fraud Department had canceled my card and reversed my charges. I also told her that if this issue was not resolved in the next THREE minutes, my next two call's would to be to The Better Business Bureau and The Arizona State's Attorney General's Office.
She put me on hold for about a minute. When she returned to the line, she had an RMA Number for me to use to ship the order back when I got it.
I asked when my "Free Trial" ended and ... just like others have stated ... it is 14 DAYS FROM THE TIME YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER.
I told her, even though I had requested RUSH shipping, I wanted an extention on my "Trial Offer". She extended the RMA from July 26 to July 29. She assured me that my account was closed with them and I would not recieve further charges.
I recieved the order on July 19 and immediately paid for a Priority Mail Shipping Lable including a Signature Confirmation and Email Notice of Delivery. I did this online using my account I have with The USPS and printed the shipping lable.
I took it to the Post Office the next day and sent it off. As of today, my USPS Shipping Status for the Item reads as follows...
"We attempted to deliver your item at 9:31 am on July 23, 2011 in SCOTTSDALE, AZ 85260 and a notice was left."
At this point, the original website where I found the Prado "14 Day Free Trial" has been taken down, nobody from their company has replied to my emails, and there is no answer at their Cutomer Service Number.
At this point, I dont care if they get their product back. I never even tried it ... I never even OPENED it.
To anyone out there thinking of ordering this "14 Day Free Trial", DO NOT DO IT!!!
If you have, contact your credit card company RIGHT NOW. Have your card canceled, request a new card with a NEW NUMBER and ask that any charges associated with Prado be refunded and request no further charges from Prado be accepted. DEMAND it if you have to.

I purchased the e-cigarette online for 14.95 and two weeks later, I was charged 149.90. I was unable to reach anyone. My credit card company said that the deal was done by someone from the Carolinas.
I tried the cigarette on July 5, 2011 and on July 14, 2011, it did not work anymore. I am unable to reach anyone to find out what to do about it. As you know, I cannot find a phone number nor address to reach anyone. How good can a company be if they do not show their address online or anywhere else? They are the biggest scam, charging all the money and give you no support. As a senior citizen, I guess it's my fault that I believe that people are all good. They have to be taken off the Internet as they are a fraud.

CONSUMERS BEWARE!!!! THIS IS A HUGE SCAM!!! A COMPLETE RIP OFF. I received an email for a "FREE" Trial offer for Prado Electronic Cigarettes. You get to try it for 2 weeks for $14.95. What they don't tell you is that the 2 weeks starts the day they ship it out. It takes 9 days to receive it. So even if you send it back the day you receive it, they wouldn't get it back in time to cancel. They have it all figured out how they're going to RIP YOU OFF AND GET AWAY WITH IT!! They never answer their phone so you can't even call to get an RMA# from them. After 2 weeks they charged my credit card $149.90, this was after the trial period. If I would have known they were going to charge this much, I NEVER WOULD HAVE ORDERED THE FREE TRIAL.
Well, I thought it was over. Exactly one month from the day I ordered the "Free Trial", another $69.90 was charged to my credit card! A few days later I received another 4 boxes of refills that I didn't even order. I tried calling them for 2 days when I finally got someone on the phone. I asked to return the product and they told me "NO" I could not return it. I have never heard of a company that does not accept returns. This is an awful product. It is NOT what they describe. They say it looks, feels like, and smokes like a real cigarette. They are totally wrong. It's a lot heavier and thicker than a cigarette. It's made of metal so you can actually break a tooth with it. And the smoke that comes from it tastes like stale vapor from an old humidifier or something.
My complaint is, they will not accept a return and WILL NOT issue me a refund. They are ripping people off left and right. They need to be shut down. There needs to be a class action lawsuit and these consumers need to get their money back. Prado needs to pay these people back. Not only for the inferior product they sent us, but or the anguish and suffering they have caused us in trying to get our money back. This is ridiculous!!

About 6 months ago, I ordered an electric cigarette in an ongoing effort to quit smoking. I was happy. However, the company now charges my credit card close to 60 dollars per month, and sends cartridge refills that I did not order or authorize. This has occurred three times. I have written the company 3 times; and I have called them. I also contacted my credit card company.

I ordered the electronic cigarettes and paid the s/h. They continue to charge my card, but I am not receiving any refills. I attempted to call the phone number they gave me to cancel but it was a bogus number.

I paid S/H for free trial ($12.95) and they billed my card for $149.90 after 2 weeks for free trials. Do not deal with these people; they lie, it's a big rip off.

Ordered the "free trial" only. They charged me before the "free trial" ended in the amount of $149.90. Cannot cancel the automatic refill because no one will answer the phone! Been on hold for over an hour and still haven't talked to a real person. There is no free trial!

Prado electric cigarette advertises a free offer in which you pay only 12.95$ for their electric cigarette. After 2 weeks I was charged $142.90. When I called the company it was stated that it was a trial offer and that after 14 days they charge for the product.
I told the representative that there is nothing in the advertisement that indicates a 14 day trial and then one would be billed and that it was very deceptive.I asked for my money to be refunded and I was told that this is not the terms of "the agreement". I was charged $142.90 for a product or service that I did not request. This $142.90 is a non expected financial setback.

I was offered a "free trial" for their electric cigarettes on the internet, through my Hotmail account. All I had to pay was $12.95 for the shipping. A few weeks later, 2 new unauthorized charges appeared: $149.00 on 4/8/2011 and $69.90 on 4/26/2011. I never agreed to these charges nor was I ever aware they existed. I promptly returned the merchandise unopened to Prado, and I have the tracking numbers.
I called Prado and spoke with Lily. She first said her system was down and could not access my account. I called back and she said I to had pay an additional fee on $69.90 next month! I told her I never was aware of these hidden charges, and that I had returned the merchandise unopened RMA # 558404-08989. She responded that she would speak to a supervisor. she gets back on the phone and says okay, we will return $40.00 when our shipping department receives the merchandise. She was extremely rude.
I explained that Prado had taken a total of $218.90 in unauthorized charges from me. The merchandise was returned unopened and I wanted a full refund. They are running a very deceptive internet scam. I was forced to cancel my credit card as a result of these unauthorized charges, which is really inconvenient. Prado is a rip off company, currently practicing deceptive internet marketing. This customer service agent, named Lily, was really rude and uncooperative.
I spent most of the morning on the phone with my bank, and Prado cigarettes. The Prado representative was rude and uncooperative. She would only give partial information regarding my concerns and told me I would actually be charged another $69.90 next month! I repeated that the $218.90 in charges were unauthorized and their products were not requested. I kept demanding that she cancel me out of her system. I was forced to cancel my credit card, because I am afraid that they will continue to charge my card. By the way, when I called back, Liily appeared to answer, but she claimed her name was now Terry!

I did talk to someone, they called me and I said I would like to try it. There was no contact number to talk to anybody and when I spoke to them they said they were only charging my bank account 80.00 to buy it out right. So I get a charge on my bank acct. for 149.90, no one answers when you call and when I spoke to them, they said no nicotine was in it. When it came it says that it has nicotine, nothing about how is it to help you quit. I'm going to find the address and reverse the charge because this not what I agreed with.

My girlfriend's trying to quit smoking so I ordered 1 Prado e-cigarette. I went to get email confirmation; I'm surprised that I had two orders of Prado e-cigarettes and teeth whitener. So I called the bank to cancel my card and then went online; I got a customer service representative and emailed them I was canceling my order. I told him do not ship it because I canceled my order. Then next morning I called the customer service and canceled it again just to be sure they understand.
I called my card issuer 30 minutes later they had already took their payment out. The only thing is they took $7.99 for first order of 1 e-cigarette order and $24.99 for the second order which I had not order. So if e cigarette was $7.99, the teeth whitener cost $17.00 which is Beverly Hills' prices. And I don't live there but my girlfriend does, she asked if I had bought it from Tiffany's. So within 30 minutes of ordering, I canceled my order by email. Within 7 hours I had cancelled by phone. I told them both saying do not ship. Their ten day refund means they have ten days to get it to you and return in those same ten days but you can't get it returned for refunds because they on purpose take 9 days to ship.
They are thieves of worse kind stealing from people trying to improve their health. You won in a tiny battle but I will (win the war). I am coming Prado be afraid, very afraid you will never know when I will show up. Say, is your brake pedal not working right? Always look behind you. You never know when I will strike a blow for the people you rip off. Oh honey I smell gas does she or false alarm. Lots of accidents can happen. Are you safe? I am coming for you and I never quit till job is done. ** thieves.

I bought e-cigs on line at $1300, for shipping and 5 free refills. I was told to cancel the list but it is a scam. You can't cancel your order even though they got $220 from me.' I am attempting to stop payment at my bank. This company is scamming people all over the US. It has cost me $200.00 taken from my debt card. So far it will cost me approx. 35.00 more dollars to stop payment. I have to warn about this scam, because you can not talk to anyone about their product.

I signed up for a free trial and before the order was processed and shipped I called to cancel. The customer service rep would not take no for an answer and shipped the product anyway.
They charged my credit card $14.95. I called again on 3/8/11 to tell them I cancelled the order and the customer rep said that since I had the package the credit card would be charged anyway plus now I have to pay shipping and handling to return the product before 3/16/11. I told her to cancel the account. This was not supposed to be shipped to begin with and now it will cost me over $20 for a product I cancelled before processing. This is fraud and should be monitored and stopped.

I received an e-mail offering the Prado electronic cigarette for 14 days at $14.95. I purchased the kit and ten refill cigarettes for an additional $9.99, as a gift. When I received it, I opened it up and took out the sales paper then wrapped it and gave it to the person it was intended for. The sales receipt they sent with the kit had very small print (font about 8), and made mention that the cost after the 14 day trial period would be $149.99 and that the refills (10) is $69.99. I called the company to explain that I purchased the kit as a gift. I was told that I had 14 days to cancel and send it back.
I explained that I am unemployed and that they just took my bill money, the operator Susie or Susan said that "I should have read the small print". I asked to speak to her supervisor. The supervisor reiterated everything that the previous representative said about reading the fine print. I asked if there was anyway to resolve this issue and get my money back. She said if I stay with them for 2 more months at $29.99 a month, they will reimburse me $70.00 of the $149.99 for the kit and $40.00 of the $69.99 for the refills.
I asked if I can send back the refills that were sent out and be reimbursed for the $69.99, she said they won't accept returns. This is an obvious internet scam. The person I brought the kit for said that the cigarettes make her "want to smoke" because they contain real nicotine. She has not stop smoking, so it's a rip off around the board and I am out of $245.96.

At first, I took them up on their 15 day "trial" period as I am trying to quit smoking. First, I was sent the wrong filters and charged for the replacement filters as well as the regular shipping on the "trial" product.
They sent me a defective product so I called back with the customer service agent telling me that I needed to buy a replacement part, which was the whole cigarette. I talked them down and they sent me a new product. Then they informed me I needed to return the product before the 15 days was up and they had to receive it before the trial period was up. As I explained over and over I was very dissatisfied with it and thought their product was crap.
This was three days before the 15 days was up and I was not going to spend more money to fed-ex the product to them, so I talked them down to a 69 dollar charge. However, they went ahead and charged me the whole $149 and this is after speaking with multiple agents, multiple times a day for days. I was finally, after weeks given a 70 dollar refund but still spend my hard earned money while being unemployed as I explained to them and they were rude and could give a crap less.
This operation should be shut down as a free trial. It should be truly free for the days allotted with time to get it back to them after the trial is over. As well as their lack of documenting the calls as I found out the hard way. Anyone reading this, please do not ever order from them. They are a total rip off, do not care for the customer, their products are way too expensive and their consumer affairs should start a class action law suit so people like me and all the other posts I've read can get some sort of compensation as well as our products reimbursed.

I ordered the free trial kit for $7.95 electronically and a month later $69.90 disappeared from my checking account. I did not authorize this transaction and did not agree to automatic refills. My bank account is being held hostage by these people and I have to wait until the product arrives and mail it back to them in order to get my refund. I spoke with three different people in order to just get that much information. The 1st person only wanted to give me $40 back and told me the supervisor was in a meeting.
The second person named Michelle was a little better and did refer me to the supervisor, Liza after my arguing about the shipping cost to me. I did not agree to an automatic shipment. I did not misunderstand what I agreed to as that is what Liza tried to tell me and I still have to wait for the package to arrive, waste my time taking it back to the post office and then wait for them to take their time refunding my money. This company is a rip off and I should have known better than to trust my information on line. I won't try this again.

After receiving an offer for a Prado Platinum e-Cigarette starter kit, I also received an offer for 10 refills at $1.50, with a variable number of units. I chose to receive 4, with no mention of additional shipping fees. Upon receiving my order I received only a single 10 unit refill, and was charged $9.99 for it. I could live with that because I think the price in the ad was a typo, but upon using my computer's USB to charge the unit, I discovered a worm had been introduced to my system. I probably would have thought that I could have gotten it from the internet, but I have two computers, one connected to the net, and the other's not. Both got the worm, and the only thing they had in common was that e-cig. Beware, do not use your USB to charge your e-smokes!

I ordered a Prado electronic cigarette for my husband. I was supposed to get charged $9.95 and $13.90.They charged my credit card those amounts and then for $149.90. I ordered it on January 19 and by February 3, the large amount was charged. I called and they tried to swindle me into accepting to stay with them for three months for $29.95 more and would refund $70.00 of the $149.90. I said "no," and I told him I was so upset. He said that I should have read the contract but then, he hung up.
I called back a little later after doing some calculation to find out what the additional charges were, for it was for another pack of the filters. I said I wanted to cancel. They said that I could not, and also could not send the kit back. I wanted my money back. Arguments ensued and they still refuse to return my money. I believe a class action suit should be brought against these people for fraud and unfair business practices. What can we do? Please help!
Nowhere does it have a price on the website I searched and was not told I had a certain length of time to send back. Most sites has a 30-day return, it did not work for my husband.

I went online and ordered the starter kit, which was a free starter kit. All you pay for was the shipping. I contacted them within the time allowed and told them to not send me the supplies. If I want supplies I would order them... I requested the RMA # to send back the starter kit and I was told when I was on the phone with her and my bank that I was responsible for the full cost of the starter kit, which they took out of my checking account. It was a total of $109.90. I had notified them and I called them to please stop taking money from my checking account because I do not want the product.
She stated to me and my bank that even if I returned the product, I was still responsible to pay the $109.90. They were notified on time and I have the emails to prove this. This was all done within the timeframe of their terms of this agreement. I have all the emails that they sent me and all I have sent to them. When I contacted my bank, she lied over the phone and told my bank that they had contacted me and told me that I was responsible any way. I told her to send me this email that they said they notified me and she said she would but she can't send me something that was never sent in the first place. The only email I got from them was telling me they were sending me supplies that would cost me $109.90, which I never got. I told them to not send me supplies. I don't want anything and to stop now.

I received a call from a male representing Prado after clicking on the website around Jan. 4, 2011. I was told the "free" e-cigs would cost $7.95 for shipping. After giving him my credit card number, he mentioned a month of trial for something else at a cost of $15.98 and $3.98, but I could cancel the 30-day trial stuff. I did cancel 9 days later. I received a call from my credit card company around January 20th saying an unauthorized charge was on my credit card. I called them back. We canceled the card and their fraud department is looking into the case. Now Prado wants me to mail it back at my expense. I am not sure what to do at this point. I have learned a lesson however, and will never order online from unknown websites. Also, I will check out consumer complaints first. If this isn't a fraud, I don't know what it is!

I ordered a neat sounding product - electronic cigarette for $9.95 in November. I was somehow charged an extra $39.90 for a kit I was looking at on-line. I clicked to find out how much the kit cost and found that I had ''completed my order." I immediately (within seconds) called to cancel the entire order and was told that it could not be cancelled. That the order was already shipped. I spoke to Sadie. She was able to process the refund according to my bank statement.
Then in December, I was billed $149.90 because I had missed the deadline to cancel a 14 day trial. Unfortunately, I missed this charge until today, when I was billed another $69.90 for monthly fees. Yikes. I spoke to Jimjo, who was quite nice, but couldn't reach her supervisor to speak to me. She cancelled the account, which I thought Sadie had already done last month during my original call about problems with billing referred to above.

I ordered their trial smokeless cigarette and paid for it with my bank card. Then, a few days later, they billed me $149.90 for another shipment that I did not order. I called their customer service and informed them that I had returned the packages unopened with a return to sender message on the outside of the package. I spoke to a lady by the name of Cyrel and she told me that I should not have done that because I needed to get an RMA number. She said that I should get the package back and asked why I didn't like the product. I said that it was because I was reading further into their site and I cannot use nicotine.
She then said that she was going to send me free of charge some nicotine free fills. I told her I did not want them but she insisted. These people don't let you cancel orders or memberships. I told her not to send anything because I no longer had the cigarettes. She went ahead and sent them anyway because four days later, they arrived at my house. I did the same, sent it back with "please return to sender" on it.
To my surprise, I see in my bank statement a charge for $149 for their products. I immediately called them and this time spoke to a Michel on 12 Jan 11. She told me that my account is cancelled but because they have not received the products, I am billed that amount. I told her that I was going to seek legal actions against them and she said "Can you hold please? Let me speak to my supervisor to see what I can do."
I held on the line, then she came back and said, "Ma'am, we are going to refund you $75.00." I said, "No. I want the whole charge reversed and, as of this moment, I am going to place a scam article against your company aside from contacting a lawyer." Then, she told me "Can you hold a moment? Let me talk to my supervisor again." Then, she came back and said that they were going to reverse the charge only until they received the product. I returned the original package on 30 Dec 10 and the second package on 4 Jan 11 but they are telling me that they have not received anything. This is a big rip off company.

They advertised a trial product to buy that would only cost shipping cost $9.95. They didn't tell me that after 2 weeks, if I keep the trial product, they would charge my credit card $149.00 if I didn't return the product within 2 weeks with an RMA number. They also said the returns were at their discretion and there would be a 30% restocking fee charge. Also, they will charge your credit card without your permission ($69.90 each month) for cartridge refills. You call customer service, but then it's too late. You already have been charged and you are responsible for sending them back, at your expense.
In the free kit, they don't tell you but if you use any more than 2 cartridges, they'll charge you $5 a cartridge. This is clearly a scam. They duped me on the $9.95 free kit. I called them and asked the right questions because I saw on the internet all these complaints against them. I immediately canceled my credit card so they could not extract any more money from me. Please help get the word out there about this company. Beware of their advertisement, it is not what it seems. Thank you.

I ordered a free starter kit online and was charged also for refill packs of something at $14.98 each, and then, I received two more in the mail today and was told that my credit card would be charged for them. I couldn't understand the person I spoke to when I called to complain, but she said that I had ordered all that and agreed to further shipments. She did say that she would cancel further orders, but I am already out at least $70 for something I did not want to begin with. I just wanted the starter kit which was free.

I ordered a free starter kit, tried to return it and customer service refused to give me a return code. Then my account was charged $149.90 which they said was non-refundable as it was a 14-day free trial which was never disclosed. In addition, I have 2 more days under this so called trial, however they still refuse to give me a return code to return the product.

I purchased a free on-line e-cigarette order for $9.95 but my account was billed $149.90. I discovered this is a scam web site. What do I do? I can't afford $149.90 or do I want their merchandise but I called to them and they said I had no choice.

As I see like the other people here, I also got scammed. Ten days later they charged another $149.90 on my credit card without permission. Please shut these people down ASAP. Thank you.

I was on a web offer for trial e-cigs for $15.00 and was charged almost $175.00. I was trying to have recurring charges on my credit monthly. It shorted my account $175.

I was interested in the ad I saw for an electronic cigarette, and they were offering a free trial period, so I thought I would give it a try. The product took forever to get here. When I called the toll free number, there is no company name on the recording- very strange.
After several attempts to call at different times, I finally got a hold of someone who barely spoke English and was very hard to understand. She said she would reduce the fee and extend my trial period if I gave it a try. The product is disgusting and tastes like chemicals. I tried to return it several times and was always offered an extension to try it longer. I had enough of the runaround and returned the product. I also put a stop payment on the charge at my bank. Interesting enough, the company charge did not come from Prado and the charge went through. What a scam!
The company still charged my credit card even though I did not want the product and had already sent it to be returned. They do not tell you on the phone that you will also receive foreign charge fees for the initial trial period. Due to the fact that they charged my card and have my card number on file, I have incurred NSF fees from my bank and now I must cancel my credit card so they do not continue to bill me. What a pain! I would never recommend this company!

I ordered a "free trial" for a friend. It is supposed to be 14-day free trial. After 10 days, they charged my account for $149.90. I called and Mark swindled me into accepting an additional month for $29.95 and would refund $70.00 of the $149.90. I said okay, but and he hung up. I called back a little later after doing some calculation to find out what the additional charges were for. They stated it was for the kit. I said I wanted to cancel. They said I couldn't. Arguments ensued and they still refuse to return my money or cancel the account. I believe a class action suit should be brought against these people for fraud and unfair business practices. Except, they are not a US based corp. Their headquarters is in Malta. So what do we do? Please help!

I received the Prada e-cigarette the end of October and after I charged it, it did not work again no matter how much I charge it. A month later, there was a charge for $149.95 besides the $14.95 and $9.95 for the case and when I told them it did not work and I did not want it, they told me I should have read the terms and conditions more closely because after 14 days they would not refund my money. When pushed, they finally said they would refund $70. It was totally an unsatisfactory experience and I will never order one from anyone again.

I found a website (Prado) who was offering a free trial for smokeless electric cigarettes. I realized very quickly that this was NOT a site that was reputable. I did order the free trial and agreed to pay the $14.95 shipping charge, which was taken out of my bank account the very same day. I had given my Visa account. number for this trial offer via Internet. The next day, I received a phone call from a woman claiming she worked for Prado, yet needed to know my full account number on my Visa as she only had the last 4 digits. Red flag! I told her that the shipping fee had already been taken out of my checking account and that I had already given my account information when I placed my order. She said, "Well, that was a different department." She was very determined and rude to get the full account number, and I made it very clear that I don't give my information over the phone. I told her right then that I wanted to stop the order. "Cancel my order right now," is what I actually said and hung up.
I immediately called the number for Prado company and explained to Neal what just happened and how I no longer trusted this site. I told him also that I had between phone calls, already had my Visa card cancelled. Now, I explained to Neal that I no longer want the order and to please cancel it. It had not been shipped out yet. He said that I could not cancel, and now I was informed that there would be a $169 charge if I did not return the product within a 2-week period (out of my checking account). I said do not ship it out as I've already cancelled my Visa and there was nothing on the website stating these facts: One, being that I had to cancel the order the first day, and two, being that an automatic payment would be taken directly out of my checking account if item was not returned within two weeks.
I got the package 3 days ago. I didn't sign for it, and now what? I don't trust this website or the people that run it. I told them several times to cancel my order and they refused to do so. I went back to the same website 3 times, and still did not find any information about the terms and conditions Neal was talking about. I called them back again and asked to speak to another representative. Neal said he was the only one that worked there. Another big red flag. I call this whole ordeal a nightmare, and I don't feel that I should have to pay any more to ship this package back. They already got my $14.95 for purchase I tried to cancel 3 times, but wasn't allowed to do so. And by the way, the last time I did go into the Prado website, my computer froze up and couldn't get out of the site. I couldn't shut down my computer. I ended up just unplugging it, but I did receive a nice Trojan virus right after that. This is really upsetting me, and has been a huge inconvenience. I learned my lesson that nothing is free and neither was having my computer fixed. I do believe the virus came from the Prado website also. What are my options here? Please help.

Do not deal with these people! They lie.

Was lead to believe that our bill would be a total of $24.85. Found out yesterday on November 17 2010 that another bill of $149.90 was taken out of our account without our permission and without our knowledge, it caused us not to have enough for our rent money and now we face eviction because of this if we do not come up with the rest of the money. My husband has yet to receive his confirmation email for the Prado e-cigg. We were told that we would have 14 days to return the product if we were unhappy with it. When we tried, we were told that we only had 10 days to return the product not the 14 days that we were informed we had.
Too boot, we found out that the costumer service phone line/office is only open till 4:30pm and are closed on the weekends, what kind of costumer service is that I ask? When you do call you get laughed at, they refuse to let you speak to the supervisor and tell you to call back, when you do call back at the time your told, you are yet again told that you can not speak to the supervisor and to call back again. And every time you do this, you get the same reply you cannot talk to my supervisor at the moment, please call back in an hour.
You get hung up on by the so called costumer service. They won't give you their names or reference codes, they won't give you the supervisors name either or a phone number to contact the supervisor as well. Someone needs to contact me ASAP about this. My husband and I not only want our money back but we need it back to pay our rent! And we want to be compensated for the $29.00 fee for our rent check that bounced. It is only fair and just because none of this would have happened if the company was honest and upfront and did not rip us off and hit us with a $149.90 fee out of nowhere and we want to be compensated for the $24.85, originally spent on the Prado and we will send the damn thing back to you.
Contact me ASAP. You have my email here is my phone number **. I am expecting someone of authority to contact me soon and fast.
P.S. How can anyone agree to the terms and conditions if there is no such box for us to click on that says I agree? And how can we even read the terms and agreements when the page jumps to the next page without a warning, it just skips right ahead.. oh and having the words Terms and Agreements in dark charcoal gray on a black background is a bit ridiculous if you ask me. You promise 100% satisfaction Guaranteed. False. I am a 100% unsatisfied as is my husband, our neighbor and his wife and thousands of people that I have found online. In your disclaimer they talk about how they rely on honesty. Ha, what a joke....what honesty I ask? When you call customer service why are we not allowed to talk to a supervisor? Why are we not allowed to know who owns the company and the website? Why are we not allowed to know who the board of trustees are or the CEO? Why are we not allowed to know who the company and website is licensed through?
I wonder if you have ever heard of False Advertisement and that you can be sued for that too? If I do not receive satisfactory answers and result, I will press charges, contact the media, and get lawyers and file a class action suit against Prado. I will kick up a storm and cause a fuss over this until I receive results. And I hope that Prado realizes that it is my right as a citizen and a customer to speak with a supervisor when asked, it is my right to know who is the owner and where the company is licensed through and who is on the board of trustees and that if refused only gives me more ground for a class action suit. If it has to go that far not only will you end up having to pay for the $203.75 owed to my husband and I, but you will end up having to pay for all the legal fees as well. Hope to hear from someone soon.

Ordered a $9.99 product then was double charged then another charge of $149.99 came out of my bank. I have four children here and have no money until next week now. I was only trying to help my oldest quit for $9.99.

I saw their free ad in the internet. I knew that I was charged with $12 and some cents. I ordered it. A couple of weeks later, I saw my checking account was charged with $149.90. I was shocked because I was never informed about it. Neither have I received an email regarding it. I called my bank to stop the payment which I did not personally authorize.
I got the information from my wife last night. I was at work so I didn't have the chance to settle this problem. I was so worried and anxious because the money that I have in the bank at the moment is intended to pay a bill which I'm already behind payment. I stopped the payment and I'm going to be charged with $30 for the request. I'm so frustrated because I felt that I was hoaxed and ripped-off! I pity all the other people that will fall victim to this malicious and deceitful business advertisement.

I ordered the trial kit from Prado. There were no terms and conditions until after I ordered, no information about anything concerned with billing until my order was done and turned in. The battery charged the first time and hasn't since, there was a very little vapor for the first 2 puffs then nothing. I called to cancel and they refused. I called again, the guy refused to listen to anything I said, and insisted on sending me more of their stuff. I finally had to yell at him to get a word in edgewise, told him to cancel everything and not take any more money from my account. They did anyway, even though he said they wouldn't. I called again and was told they would refund $40 from the $69.80 they took out, but they didn't.
They took out the whole thing. I asked why they were taking $30 for nothing, she said she was not authorized to refund any more than the $40. I tried to ask for a supervisor and she refused. They still took out the whole $69.80, only now it's $70 something. If there is a class action lawsuit against these people, I want in! I am out $234 that I can ill afford to lose, just because I tried to quit smoking and thought it was a good company. They are not, neither are they a bit honest. They do not tell you anything you need to know before you buy.

It's a terrible rip off, misleading trial offer and no satisfaction with customer service. I've been ripped off for more than 300 dollars.

I ordered the sample kit and got charged $69.95 that was not listed in the terms. It's a big rip-off! My bank account got overdrawn and I got charged $69.95 plus overdraft fees of $35.00.

Oops! I ordered. The site wouldn't allow me to order again.Thank God. Three of my employees wanted a trial too. As they didn't have credit cards, I agreed to put it on mine. I googled the company to get other trial offers and found all these complaints.
I immediately replied to confirmation email to cancel my order! I plan to call tomorrow and refuse package. I'm so worried. Thanks to everyone. I could have ended up with charges 3 times!

I ordered the starter kit last Saturday and became very suspect when I called the CS number (1-877-647-3735) noted on my e-mail confirmation. The recording has no company info but just say, "Sorry, we are currently closed and please call back during normal business hours."
I immediately googled Prado E Cigarettes and found all the scam hits. Over the weekend I get multiple phone calls from an NC phone number but did not answer. I called the number back and it says the phone number you have reached has been disconnected, imagine that. Today, Monday, 8:45 am, the NC number pops up again and I answer it. It's a follow-up call for my order on Saturday.
I inquired about putting a stop on the order and was re-directed back to CS number and told to call after 10 AM. I spoke to a CSR named Maria (10:30 am) who focused on selling their product. I again requested to place a stop on the order. I am told sorry but the order was shipped already and I must return it within 14 days with RMA number. When asked to speak with her supervisor, she told me they are in a corporate meeting. I requested the tracking ship info and where the product is being shipped from and I am told that info cannot be provided.
Long story short, yes, Prado, you will get me for the shipping charge but guess what, I cancelled my Master Card today and you will not get any more money from this fool! The company is a complete rip-off. Thanks to consumeraffairs.com, I was only partially scammed.

Their trial was to cost under $20. Now, I find I'm being charged with over $100 plus being sent product every month at a cost of over $50. This is a real scam.

I ordered the 14 day trial kit for my boyfriend as he was interested in trying the product. I placed the order on October 26 and had not received the product after several days. So, went online to find out how to cancel the order (I checked my credit card and it was charged by October 28 but I still didn't have the kit by November 3) I had no idea about the "hidden charges" until I started doing research on the product.
When I saw the other stories about being charged $149 if the product wasn't returned, I went back to the online and tried to find the "terms and conditions" they were referring to. It took me a while to find them as they were at the very bottom, in much smaller print and not noticeable as the letters are gray tone on a black background.
To my shock, I read that not only would you get charged $149 for the product, but you would be enrolled in a monthly plan to get new cartridges each month for $59.95 plus $9.95 shipping and handling. I had no desire for these kind of charges and finally found the number to call and cancel my order. I asked for the RMA number that everyone referenced but was told by the customer service operator that I couldn't cancel the product unless I had it to return. I explained I didn't have the product and was given the USPS tracking number. I insisted on getting the RMA number for when the product did show up as I was going to return it immediately.
It took me several times of asking for the RMA number before I got it, the sales person kept offering incentives to keep the product-first reducing the purchase price by $80 and offering the monthly cartridges for $29.95 a month instead of $59.95. When I finally got the RMA number, I was told that I had to return the product by November 9th in order to successfully cancel it within the 14 days.
I finally got the kit in the afternoon of November 4th. My boyfriend tried one cartridge and we had to mail back the package on the Saturday, November 6th by priority mail to avoid the additional charges. The 14 day trial turned out to be only 2 days as Prado considers the day you order the eCigs to be day 1 of the 14 day trial offer, plus any shipping days going back to them are included in the 14 days. The 14 day "trial" is a joke and I don't appreciate the "hidden charges". To me this is predatory marketing and should be against the law!

I ordered the free trial starter kit also, paying $14.95 for S&H. I got it about a week ago but haven't actually opened it yet. Fortunately, I happened to be looking at my bank account online today and noticed a pending charge for $149.95 from electiccig-8. At first,I had no idea what this was and then remembered my trial of Prado Ciggs. I had to first send a transaction inquiry to my bank telling them to stop payment and will have to cancel my debit card in order for this to happen- a great inconvenience in itself.
I immediately went to the website to look for a notice of the $149 that would be billed and couldn't find it anywhere on the ordering page. I had to pretend to be ordering a trial kit under a fake John ** to get to the payment screen first, where after meticulous scanning of the page, I found a small disclaimer in very light font at the bottom of the payment screen (font was far lighter and smaller than anything on the rest of the page) that said they would be billing $149 for the starter kit after the trial and then $59/month.
No where else on the entire website did it say this and this disclaimer is placed below the submit button on the payment screen so that you would have to scroll down on the page to see it. Who would do that when the submit button is up higher. There is no reason to scroll down further. I tried to call the company but their offices were closed and there was no option to leave a message.
I have not received any more electric ciggs from them and I only received the trial pack 1 week ago, so my trial period shouldn't even be up yet! I had to set my phone alarm to remind me to call once I get to work. Another rip-off internet scheme to beware of.

I agreed for Prado to take $4.95 out of my account. They took $149.90 plus $4.95. This caused me to have over draft fees. When I tried to complain, they offered me $70.00. I refused. They offered me a partial refund of $100.00. I accepted a partial refund. I was assured it was a partial refund and that my concern would be forwarded to their corporate office some said Arizona, some said Malta and some said Jupiter, Florida.
I was contacted by someone who said his name was John. He would not give me his position in the company nor his e-mail address. He threatened to have me thrown in jail and used profanity in an attempt to intimidate me. He offered me $49.90 to get me to shut my mouth I said no because they owe me more because it was their fault that I was overdrawn.
In my opinion, it takes a coward to threaten a woman then hide behind his phone. It has caused me extreme mental anguish because I needed that money for my bills. It's hard enough to make it without someone trying to scam you.

My original order was suppose to cost a grand total of 35.90. Wasn't it to my surprise when my account was charged 149.90, international charges, and random charges through my card.
Needless to say I had to cancel my card to get this to stop. I have 3 children and I just don't have money to be wasting. So something I thought would be useful to kick a nasty habit I fell behind on bills and am stressed about any little thing coming up. This will be the last time I trust ordering on line, for something like that. If I'm not refereed I will not be ordering. As convenient and helpful for me, it's just not worth my piece of mind.

They offered a deal for $14.95 then charged credit $150.00. Now every two weeks, they send filters and charge $75.00. This has to be stopped. The cigarette was broken and didn't follow their promise. My boyfriend is mad, he bought it. We have fought about this, he doesn't believe me.

Just like the others. I was sent an email by Prado inviting me for electronic cigarettes free trial. I provided my card information for shipping cost charges purposes only. I did not read the fine print because I was confident that the product is good and not expecting to be ripped off. In my past experiences, if I order online like this, I am usually asked if I have read and accepted the agreement, but in this case I was not. I just wonder why our government does not qualify it as rip-off and protect us from this kind of scam.

I ordered their trial smokeless cigarette and paid for it with my bank card. Then a few days later, they billed me $149.90 for another shipment that I did not order. I called their customer service and informed them I would no accept it when it arrived. I cancelled the payment at my bank. I ask customer service to cancel my acct. I was given a confirmation # of C134314. [Prado acct. # is 41603.]
The $149.90 overdrafted my bank acct so I was charged $25 to cover it. The bank has refunded $149.90 to my acct. The bank informed me it may take 90 days to get it settled with the card company. I have worried and stewed about this for three weeks. Now, I have searched on Google under Prado Scam and I find there are many more people who got scammed the same way I did.

I ordered these and then went online and found this site regarding the scam. The $149.95 that people are being charged is in the fine print located at the following website. ** The phone number provided (877-647-3735) says they are closed for the day, but I called them on a Wednesday at 3 pm their time. They are a scam completely.

Same as all the others, I was scammed. I tried to return the product immediately, I never wanted the case anyways but I couldn't "back up" my order. I had no idea there was a trial membership and $149.90 contract.
I happened to be checking my bank statement online and saw a pending account. I called my bank immediately and they reported an unauthorized charge. Then I called the number from the bank statement. I kept trying to "discount" the charge, yada yada yada. I wanted to talk to a supervisor, "no, they're all in corporate meetings," over and over. The guy kept telling me I had a contract with them and they would not reverse the charges.
Finally, I am returning. I have to have my bank email them and they'll "consider" letting me out of my contract. This is the biggest scam out there.

We also have been ripped off by Prado. I ordered the starter kit for $9.95 and they billed my debit card for that amount. A few weeks later, $149.90 was taken out without our authorization. I called the bank and they gave me this toll free # 877 647-3735. I called and the lady explained I had to call within 14 days of ordering and receiving the started kit to cancel. Anyway she gave me a cancellation # but I am stuck with the $149.90 charge.
I knew better when I ordered the kit! Beware of internet scams and we got scammed! Beware of Prado electronic cigarettes!

I used the Electronic Cigarette for a week before I had to go to the hospital with a lung infection (much like Pneumonia). After a week there, I was released and prescribed a nebulizer with Albuteral mist inhalant. I am wondering if anyone else has suffered a like symptom from the use of the cigarette. My doctor ordered me not to use it any longer. If the capsules are improperly handled, they could be the carrier of the infectious virus. If you have experienced a similar problem, perhaps a class action suit could be filed. The FDA also recommends not using it for the same reasons.

Over-charges of $149.90 taken from my bank account for product even though I did not agree to their terms. International charges on my bank account even though company's in Scottsdale, AZ. Charges totaling $150.80 for something I agreed to pay only $29.80 for.

There are over-charges of $149.90 taken from my bank account for product even though I did not agree to their terms. There are international charges on my bank account even though the company's in Scottsdale, AZ. Charges are totaling to $150.80 for something I agreed to pay only $29.80 for.

I also have been duped by Prado. I ordered the starter kit for $9.95 and they billed my debit card for $149.90. That was on the 20th of last month. I had to cancel my debit card and order a new one to stop the charges (I still have got a new card yet). My bank reimbursed me the money on a temporary basis while they investigate. I have to send back the product or my bank cannot help me. The problem is I can't find an address to send it to. I sent them an email asking for an address but I haven't heard back from them. That was 3 days ago.

I was being offered a free starter kit of electric cigarettes that would make you stop smoking for shipping and handling. I ordered it for about 5 bucks and used my debit card. Immediately, after this, I was offered a kit of filters for the same amount. The first package came, but not the second one. It didn't work to make me stop smoking and I just thought that I had lost 10 bucks. Today, a month later it showed up on my account statement that $149.90 had been taken out from my debit card. I immediately went to my bank and tried to make a stop payment. They said it was too late and I got Prado's phone number but the last number was missing. I thought it would only take 10 phone calls to reach them and I succeeded after 5.
I came to one of the voices that read from a manuscript that probably protects them from lawsuits. She offered me $80 off next purchase. I didn't want it. I wanted to have everything cancelled and my $149.90 back. It was like talking to a wall and she said that I had agreed to terms. I didn't know I had done it and she said that the terms said that I either had to return the starter kit within 14 day's or give them a call. I didn't get a phone number with the kit and no address! I only had a website printed on the kit, but it was not the website I had ordered it from. I then called the bank again and they called them up on a 3-way call. The person we talked with then (her name was EBB with employee number **) repeated from the same manuscript what I had heard earlier. In that call I told the bank that I wanted to take them to court and then I was being offered a refund of $70. I took it and informed the bank again that I want to take it to court. The bank recommended small case court.
I am now waiting for $70 and also for them to not take out more money. I think that the bank recorded the last phone call and their claim office who did it has phone number 1-877-366-1121. They fooled me and let me believe that I just bought a starter kit for shipping and handling. Please feel free to call me but only daytime at ** or on my cell phone at **.

The products you order will typically be shipped to the address you designate within three to five days. "If after 14 days*** of your order, you keep your Prado Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit and have not returned the item with a valid RMA number, your credit card will be billed for the full purchase price of the starter kit and 20 cartridges ($149.90)." There was nowhere available to read the terms and conditions. I just recently did a search on the company to see if I was getting jacked or not and this is what I found.

This is a resubmitted copy. The first time I did not have half of this copy to the form. My apologies.I had ordered the Prado E-Cig. Starter kit last night and while I was looking for their web-site, to tell my girlfriend, I saw the link to these complaints. When I read the first 5 or so I thought "Oh no! I'd better do something! "So, I found their site, the one I ordered from.
Someone had written that you can't read the terms unless you give your credit information again. But down at the very bottom of the order page is a link to Terms and Conditions. I read that, and guess what! I had agreed to be a member of a club that would send me 20 cartridges a month for a charge of $69.90 and I also agreed to pay $149.90 for the Starter kit after the 14 day trial, which started the day the order was placed, if I did not return it to them within that time period. (I think it's wrong for them to call it a trial since I cannot try it the day I order it and it is not at my house yet, and I cannot try it if some of the time needs to be used for returning it. Perhaps they meant "trial" as in "Hoo boy! This whole process is a trial! ") The agreement says you can call any time to cancel your membership, which I did right away.
OK, good, that stopped the $69.90 charges for cartridges from occurring. The agreement also says that I need to return the starter kit within the 14 day trial, with a valid RMA number, or I will be charged $149.90 on my credit card. I did not receive the kit yet, but we'll see if they ship it to me in time for me to return it. And I did get RMA #; I just have to trust that it is valid.
I did ask her what I was supposed to do if they do not ship the kit in time for me to return it. She said to call them if I do not receive it in 9 days and they will extend the time period. Now I have one problem pending and one (I hope) taken care of. Things did not go as smoothly as I just wrote, but to avoid confusion I thought I had better just add this at the end. Before I made the call I decided that I would not get angry or emotional, but to be firm and pleasant with whomever I dealt with. Angie, or Engie, the customer service rep that I was talking to was doing a hard sell the entire time I was trying to talk to her.
I stayed cool and then eventually said that I had done my part by cancelling my membership within the 14 day trial period and now I was requesting that she do her part by issuing me an RMA number. That worked, but I still had to listen to a sell the entire time she was pulling one up for me. I then asked her what I was supposed to do if my Starter kit did not get here in time for me to return it by 14 days. She told me "Don't worry."
I asked her if she could transfer me to someone who could answer my question. She again told me not to worry and didn't transfer me but continued to try to sell me on this program. I calmly kept asking her until she told me that if I do not receive it in 9 days to call them back. I asked her how I should know that they would extend my time period; it said nothing about that in the agreement. Again you guessed it. "Don't worry about it. "I was getting kind of angry and sweating, but I kept cool, and at the end of our conversation and her last angry attempt at selling me. I grit my teeth and thanked her, and told her she had been very kind and helpful. I then wished her a good day. Maybe the last was overkill.

So far the economic cost is $14.95 for shipping and handling on the starter kit for trial. If the return can't be handled in time, I will also be out $149.90 for a returned starter kit. I will also have to pay postage, signed receipt and insured to return the kit.
I am a cardiac patient with congestive heart failure after a severe M.I. A very large portion of my heart is dead or damaged. I am on medication for anxiety and stress because of this. Stress will cause damage. Who knows how much or what kind? I only know that it will. Even though I made a mistake in agreeing to their terms and conditions, the way they choose to handle things on the phone was very stressful to me. Having to have this kit returned in such a ridiculously short amount of time is very stressful.
Not having anything documented about having my time extended if I do not have the kit shipped to me on time is stressful. The cause of extra stress is my income. I only receive Social Security because I am disabled. I cannot afford to have a $149.90 charged on my checking account for a returned kit. Feeling like a fool because I believed in something that I really wanted to work is not stressful, it's just downright sad.

They told me it was a free trial. They never said anything about joining the club. Now, they have withdrawn $149.00 from my checking account, and plan to do so monthly. Help me get a refund and stop the fraud.

I responded to an ad for free trial of their product for $14.95. I had already tried "Pure" which I liked, but thought it would be good to make a comparison. I was shocked when I got my bank statement to find out that not only had they charged me the original $14.95, but had taken an additional $149.95 without my permission! How can they do that? I spoke with their rep, Lynde, and she promised to refund $70, telling me that I would have to make a separate call to cancel the monthly subscription cost of $29.95. Both of these charges were a surprise to me. There was no mention of them in the package or online. This is outright robbery and there should be a class action suit placed against them. I am outraged!

I ordered free trial, received it; the cartridges didn't fit well. It kept slipping off when I'm trying to use it. There was never saying anything about a trial offer and then I would be billed $149.95! I found it on my credit card billing along with 2 more cartridge packets mailed to me without permission and they were billed to me also on the same card! Both my credit card bank and Prado closed for the day, but I will be calling my credit card company to dispute the charges, and then calling this despicable company. I'm always careful never to obligate myself to these kinds of things and to never have auto shipments! This company has a poor product, but worst of all they are dishonest!

I was offered a trial for 14 days. I returned the product to which they say they never received. They then sent me more filters and billed me $69.90 for it without my permission and refused to cancel my membership and say that they will keep billing my card. I informed them that I wanted my membership canceled and no further billing or shipments. I was told they would not be able to do this unless I could prove that I sent the product back. I asked them how to send back the replacement filters and they said that I couldn't because they already billed me for that and took the money out of my account and that they wouldn't refund my money, but that I could do whatever I wanted with it!
I had checks bouncing out of my account because of the money they took out without my permission or knowledge! I received a disconnection notice from my power company since the payment to them bounced because of Prado taking my money!

Saw a web advertisement for an e-cigarette where you just pay shipping and handling for the starter kit. I ordered two kits, one for me and the other for my wife. 19.90 is a cheap way to start. This was on October 5th of 2010. It was not what we expected and only worked half of the 1st day we tried them. Thought nothing more about them until a sales call on the 20th tried to solicit more funds from my account.
There was no sales pitch. He had my credit card number and assumed he was going to just use my card to purchase more of their product for me. I told him, absolutely no and that no charges were to place on my card from them. Repeatedly. I checked my account on the 22nd and found two pending charges. Each for 149.90, the cost shown on the website for the starter kit.
I immediately called the customer service number and was told I was beyond my 14-day trial period? But they would reimburse me $70.00 for each purchase? I told them that was unacceptable and they upped the amount to $100.00 for each. I have since gone to my bank and closed that account and will be disputing the amounts as I did not authorize further purchases and had not had the product for 14 days.

Like the others, fell for the "free offer - just pay shipping". Never saw anything about it being a 14 day trial offer that you had to cancel. The packing slip also never said anything about canceling w/in 14 days, or anything about a "club" I was joining for $70/month. So, they hit my debit card for $149. I did get them to cancel my club membership - but only after a very hard sell job from them telling me how wonderful the product was. And eventually, with enough of a temper tantrum on my part they agreed to refund $70 of the $149 that they charged me. They were adamant that this information was all in their terms that I checked off, but I sure didn't see it, and you can't get back to view that from their website unless you enter all your billing information again.

My frustration is the same as all the other customers of this cheating company. They lie and steal from us hard working consumers. I read almost every complaint and I am a victim as they are. There was nothing on the description about the 14- or 15-day trial period. I filed a grievance with my bank and I'll know within 10days, so from 10/17 to 10/27/10 they will return my money.

I called Visa and then Prado. Prado told me that they would not take any of the items back (the kit and cartridges were never used by my wife) and that I would have to pay the total of $219.80 and if I didn't cancel would be charged $69.90 each month in the future. I cancelled but believe this is an illegal use of the internet to defraud. I hope all others taken in my this scam will notify the State Attorney General's office, the FCC, and the Federal Trade Commission along with the Better Business Bureaus to stop this fraud. Maybe a class action suit?

Ordered Electric Cigarette for $9.95 thinking it was on special. Now, am charged $149.90. Did not mention this on their website. Many complaints found when I Googled Prado. Has literally made me sick. I am on Social Security Disability and just wanted to stop smoking. Will have to go to food bank.

I was sucked enough to buy the "Trial" set for $9.95, but added two packs of refills at that time. Total was $24.95. Next thing I knew, another two packs of refills came in the mail at the price of $69.90, which I did not order. Then unbeknownst to me, I was charged the full price of $149.90. No place on the ad did it say anything about "Automatic Billing".
I bit the bullet, admitted to getting ripped off, called the bank and cancelled my credit card. There should be a protective merchants organization somewhere to prevent this sort of thing. Never again, will I buy anything online. So, a lot of merchants will lose out on sales. I am sure there are others who feel the same as I do.

I purchased the Prado Electronic Cigarette online for a only the cost of shipping which was $9.95. After I made the purchase, I googled the website (interested in how much the cartridges cost) and seen the title Prado E-Cigarette scam. I went to check it out and seen all of the awful reviews of the product and the people working for this company.
I called the company to cancel the order. Mind you, this was like 10 minutes after I placed the order and was told they could not cancel the order. So I made a trip to my bank and was told they actually charged me twice for the shipping (big surprise). So I closed my account. Ha ha on you, nasty people. I just don't understand how people can take advantage of consumers this way.

They advertised a special offer to try the Prado electronic cigarette for $9.95 postage and handling, but did not indicate they would charge $149 if it was not returned in 15 days. They claim it is on their website, but I have not found this to be true. I tried the electronic cigarette, but it does not operate properly and they will not take the product back. They also sent me more tips for the device without my consent and have charged $70 for the monthly supply of disposable tips. I was able to find a phone #1-877-647-3735 from a consumer complaint. They said they would discontinue the monthly mailing of the new tips, but again would not take the tips back that they mailed me without my permission.

I was sent the wrong filters. They are plastic with no screwing threads. My cigarette has metal connections.

I received my free trial within 7 days. I was very pleased with the product, but when I went back into my banking, I found I was charged another $149.90 besides the $9.95 for shipping charges of the trial product. I did read the instructions very carefully and there was no mention that the free trial product had to be returned within 15 days and if it wasn't returned, I would be charged the full amount of the product. I had the same problem with Smokeless Cigarettes, whom I reported to the Better Business Bureau and my bank. My bank did call them and they gave me a full refund.
I just called Prado's phone number which is 1-877-647-3735 and was told that I would receive no further charges. I am planning on canceling my ATM card just in case they do not follow through on what I was told and reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. The only reason I needed to quit smoking is that I will be going in for a Stem Cell transplant as I have Multiple Myeloma and need to quit before I go into the hospital in November 2010. It's a shame that all these scam artists are getting away with taking advantage of people who need to quit smoking and taking our hard-earned money. The only company I have found that has not scammed me on the Electronic Cigarette is eCigarettes Choice.

I ordered the free trial. I checked my checking account and noticed that they had put a hold on $149.00. I sent the product back and the charge went through. I called customer service and was told (they had not received the product within 15 days so the charge would stand. My bank could do nothing about it. $149.00 stolen and nothing can be done. America is where criminals get away with robbery.

I just wanted to say an enormous thank you to this website and to those people who have shared their experiences. I had just sent off for the 'free' trial and decided to research a little more about this company when I came across all of your testimonials. I have just this moment cancelled the card I used as I was advised this is the only way that I can avoid them charging me in the future! Thank you. This is a headache but could have been much worse if I hadn't came across this site.

Deceptive marketing. I signed up for trial at $9.95. I was then charged $149.95 and then $69.95 the month after. I canceled the offer with Mare on 10/1/10, confirmation #101067.

I had a very bad experience, like all the other complaints. I called myself reading all the fine print. The charge of $149.90 for the "Trial Product Offer" which they advertised for only $9.95 plus S&H, the Autoship program fees were deeply embedded. I did not consciously agree to that.
I called today when the $149.90 appeared on my bank account, threatened to call the Attorney General's office. First, Ebb was only going to credit me with $100. I threatened again. Now, they are crediting me with the full $149.90, but I have to use the RMA number, ship the original trial pack back at my expense. Thankfully, I never opened it. It smelled a fish, barracuda! Do not do business with these slime balls. Please!

I was reading my e-mail and saw this add for the Prado Electronic Cigarette. It was advertised for 9.95 as a trial product. Now, I have discovered like many that this is a scam. If you don't return the product within 14 days they charge you $149.00 and enroll you in a monthly refill program that charges & 59.95 plus $9.95 in processing and handling charges.

Like so many complaints I have read, Prado is a rip-off. Their ad states to get a sample of their electronic cigarette for $9.95. If you try to take advantage of the offer, they hit your bank account for $149.95 and then the next month there is another charge for $69.90 which they claim is for refills, but you never receive any refills.
This whole thing is a rip-off which is quite evident from the number of complaints. Then it is fun trying to reach anyone at Prado as the number provided is not the Prado office. I found out you can reach them at 1-877-647-3735, if your lucky and the line isn't busy.

Seems they just went and took 150.00 dollars from my account. Never saw fees until it was too late, they were hidden very well. Loss of money from account.

Prado Electronic Cigarette advertised for 9.95 for shipping and handling. You can buy this product, but then they go back and charge you 149.90, 14 days later claiming you needed to return this product. Because they stole money out of my account without authorization, my PSEG check bounced and they turned off my electricity at 8:00 in the morning. Electricity came back 10 hours later and everything in my refrigerator went bad and it cost me another 35.00 for insufficient funds and 75.00 for reconnection fee.

I accepted free introductory offer just pay shipping and handling for $7.95 then later they charged my card $149.90. I had no idea I can't reach them via phone or email. Furthermore they intend to take $69.90 every month for refills! Stop the madness please; they are bilking us while the rich CEOs are lounging around in Malta laughing all the way to the bank! My Visa card is being accessed by them without authorization! I have difficulty paying for food and medications now!

I opted for the free trial and I paid the shipping and handling charges. It took approximately a week to get here and when I checked my bank statement, there was a charge for $151.00. I called customer service and they told me that because it is an international company, it is a charge from my bank and because my trial' time was over, I was charged with $151.00. I went back and looked. Boy, you really have to watch that fine print'. They hid it very well.

What a total scam and yes, I too would love to get my money back.
That's well over $200 charged to my credit card that I sure don't have to spend right now. I'm not a happy camper at all. The customer service rep I spoke with barely spoke English and just kept telling me how wonderful the product was. After cancelling my account, she started in again and I promptly hung up on her. Please warn all your friends about this. I wish I would have checked into this further and found this web site before I fell for the scam and lost so much money. Thanks for letting me vent!

I, too, fell for the ad, but I read about the bad experiences others had before the thing ever arrived. When checking my bank statement online, I did indeed see unauthorized charges to my account for 13 cents on one and 8 cents on another as well as the initial charge for $9.95. I immediately went to my bank and canceled the card I had used to order it. My banker assures me that this will prevent any more unauthorized charges, so I think I managed to avoid the bulk of the **.

I was charged $149.50 on my credit card for a "trial product" I initially thought was only $9.95. When I tried to call, I got the runaround and amazingly enough right after I hung up, the charge was put through even though it was not supposed to until the next day. This company does not specify details and will not answer phone calls or emails. It is a totally misleading ad.

I worked ok for the first day, then after that will not hold a charge even after a 24 hours charging. Would do about as good as a box of candy cigarettes I bought at a candy store when I was a kid. This company is a joke and should not be able to get away with this!

I ordered the trial back in April for $9.95, used the product, it broke, threw it in the trash. Every month, I received refill kits called them today and asked them why they told me that since I didn't return the kit in 14 days they charged me $149.00 for the kit and have been charging me $69.95 every month since April for the refills. This company is a rip off.
I only purchased because I was trying to quit smoking and CNN recommend their product so I am out of $500.00 dollars. Do not purchase from this company. The lady was very rude when I told to cancel my account! I know I should check my bank account more often but I live in a small town wheres my bank doesn't offer online banking. I will start reading my statement very closely now. Consequences are that I am out of more than $500.00 dollars for a product that broke the first week that I used it.

I order the trial which was suppose to be $14.95. Ten minutes later, I checked my account and saw your company charged my acct. over $65. When I called to cancel, I was told the order would be cancelled. Today, I went online to check my banking balance and saw that your company charged my account again for $149.95. I have had to close my account because of unauthorized withdrawals from your company. I am very upset and feel this is a sneaky way to do business.

I ordered and paid for trial offer for Electronic cigarettes. I did not understand that if I did not call and cancel within 18 days I would be charged $250. I did not get any paperwork to that effect and did not see anything about that when I ordered.I think this company is a big time scam.

Like everyone else, I opted for the free trial offer. I just pay shipping and handling which totaled $58. Approximately 2 weeks later, I was billed for $149.90. And more recently (approx 2 months), I was billed for $69.90. I have attempted to contact them both by phone and by email without any results.

I ordered the trial kit for $9.95 on August 06, 2010. The ad stated all you have to pay for is the shipping and any extra items that you may want. The receipt that I printed after I placed my order showed that I owed them $24.85. When I looked at my bank statement, they charged me $34.80. I called the customer service hotline and they told me that I must have ordered something else, that's why my order was $34.80 vs the $24.85 the receipt showed. On September 10th, I reviewed my bank statement and I found several charges for $0.28, $1.20, $0.56, $149.90 and $69.90 for a total of $224.10.
Wow! I called the customer service hotline again to find out why I was being charged this extra money. The CSR stated that the terms and condition that I agreed to allowed them to debit my account. I explained to the CSR that I did not see anything that shows terms and condition. The CSR said that she would refund me $40.00. I asked her, "Really? Because you just stole $224.10 from me and who knows how many more people and you want to refund me $40.00?". Folks, we need to fight to get our money back!

My story is pretty much the same as many, many others I have seen on the internet. In my case I also understood I would be receiving a free trial offer and I ordered an additional case and some more "filters." I understood the total cost would be between $50-$60. I have instead received two complete "kits" (e-cig, cartridges, charger, case) when I only ordered one. On Aug. 26 I was debited $39.80, for what I don't know (total shipping for the two packages as $9.99). On September 9th I was debited another $149.90 from my bank account.
That's a total of $189.70 I have been ripped off for. It's not a bad product and the company would probably do well on its own account but because they are thieves and liars they will not last long. I have canceled my debit card and am disputing my charges through my bank. Meantime, I'm joining the chorus of what is apparently hundreds if not thousands of people who have been similarly ripped off. I will go on the internet and any other forum I can access. I can see I'm not alone and any further help you can give me would be much appreciated.

I ordered online the trial kit for $9.95 yesterday. When I checked my bank statement today, I saw that they charged $69.95 to my debit card. When I called the customer support, the lady took me on a journey which made no sense to me. I called my bank, and will file a dispute once the charge is posted on my account.

I ordered the "trial" online. The $ 9.95 charge hit my card the same day! 12 days later, I got my e-cig in the mail and immediately charged it so I could start using it. The directions said to let it charge 8 hours before use, so that took care of day 13 of the 14 day trial. On the 14th day, I tried the Prado. It didn't work and I called customer service. They said they were very sorry and would send me a new unit. Three weeks later, I still had not received it! Customer service told me it must have gotten lost in the mail!
The minute my free trial was over, a 160.00 dollar charge appeared on my card! When I once again called customer service, I was told that my new unit had been shipped! I will never recommend this company to anyone. They are a huge rip-off and so is their product! I am a recent "open heart" and I wanted to stop smoking and I thought e-cigs would be the way to go. I was out of work for quite some time so money is tight. And now I have been ripped off for $170.00 and have a non-working product!

I too fell for the ad with Prado Electronic cigarette. I was charged $9.95 at first and then a couple of weeks later, the $195.50 showed up on my account. Lets take a stance and put them down. It's not right falsifying an ad and it is misleading.

I was curious about the electronic cigarette and I placed an order through the website without checking the reviews. I could quickly realize many consumer had bad experience ordering the product, I called them back within 5 minutes of placing the order and asked them to cancel the order. There was a rep by name Kristin who attended the call and she said, she cannot cancel the order as the order was already shipped.
How can she ship an order within 5 minutes of placing the order? We argued for about 10-15 minutes over the phone and she said she will issue an RMA and I can return the product after I receive it. I think the catch here is to make money from the trial period money itself. This is ridiculous. They have a clear plan to dupe the customers in every possible way big or small.

To all who have complained before me, my story is exactly the same! I think it's time to sue them! I have contacted the BBB in AZ. I made my complaint, trying to be pro-active. I just wish there could be a way for all of us, who are living paycheck to paycheck, to get our money back and put them out of business! Does anyone have any ideas? I suppose after you have filed your complaint here, no one would go back and check what others are thinking. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part that someone does, and has an idea. This is just plain sinful. I lost precious money by theft!

I received my starter kit from Prado and it won't work at all at first day. I called and tried to get RA# and returned it. The customer service told me keep it and they will send me a replacement, it will come to me in five days. I was waiting in ten days and received nothing from them. I called and ask for RA# to return that starter kit.
They charged me 25% restock fee because I failed to return the merchandise within their trial time. They are doing business in cheating customer to hold their merchandise by promising sending replacement parts which never come to customers. They still sent me the follow up cartridges for my starter and charged my bank account for that, even their starter kit not working. Never buy Prado electronic cigarettes because their starter kits never work as it must. If you bought them, you should have to return it right away no matter what their cheating customer representatives tried to tell you keep it and will send you a perfect and free replacement parts.

I had purchased a trial offer for $9.95 but was charged $10.25 on my credit card which I didn't even bother to complain. There was a $75.00 pending charge showing on my credit card so I called Prado and was told that it will not go through and it is just a way for them to validate that the card is good and will be deleted in few days, and will have no further charges.
Fine, it was okay, but 2 weeks after, I get a $149.90 credit card charge again. So I called and was told that I didn't return the goods in 14 days trial period. By the time I received it, the 14 days had already expired. The product doesn't work as they claim. After arguments with the person I spoke to, she said they will cancel my account so I don't get a monthly charge of $29.00.
What a bunch of scam artists. They have the nerve to charge $149.90 plus $29.00 every month and I didn't even authorized it. I canceled my card so they will not be able to charge me monthly, even if they say that they had canceled my account. I also filed a fraud report with my credit card company. So I am out $10.25 (should be $9.95) plus $149.90 = $160.15 out of this scam. It affected my credit limits as I didn't know of these charges.

Purchased starter package of electronic cigarette for $9.95. Then, after a couple of weeks, my credit card was charged an additional $149.90. When this item was purchased there was not any information that it needed to be returned within any specific amount of time or I would be charged. When I phoned the company, I was pretty much told "too bad for you," that there was nothing that could be done. This company is a rip-off and they are stealing people's money. I am a GM retiree and cannot afford this type of thing to happen to me. At my age, I need to keep my money instead of having people steal it from me.

I am disabled and cannot possibly afford this type of purchase on my credit card when I am able to purchase a similar product locally for $49.99.

Purchased electronic cigarette for $9.95 and shipping and handling charge of $14.95 got charged $25.65. Didn't know there was 15 day trail period so got charged $149.90. Call them. They said, "Too late, 15 days is up." Asked to speak to her supervisor, told no one was available now. Ask for name of supervisor or phone number, she wouldn't give me one and hung up. Called back asked for supervisor. Anna came to the phone. She told me she was in charge. She was of no help so I asked again for name and phone number of supervisor and she hung-up also. So I thought no sense in sending back the cigarette. I already paid $175.55 so I must own it? Was I wrong. Two days later, they charged my account again. This time $154.40 on Saturday Aug 28,2010 and of course, they were closed for the weekend. Went to my bank today Aug 30,2010 to close my debit card account and stop further payments to them. The bank will investigate it also.

I ordered 2 of the electric cigarette kits. As soon as I got them, I called to cancel the free trial and was given an RME number to use to send back. I did that and was never reimbursed the $300.00 that I was charged. Called several times (6). As of this date, 8/23/2010, I'm still out $300.00 and keep being told that they will send my info to the department for reimbursement. And still nothing. This company is a big rip-off. I was charged $300.00 and called and cancelled the so-called free trial. Returned the product, but was never given my money back. An attorney needs to file a class action law suit. There are many people being ripped off by this company!

I ordered a 'free' trial of this product and paid the $9.95 shipping fee. I got charged $149.90 on my checking account, without my authorization. I spoke with Mell, and she informed me that I could not return the product, because the 14 days had elapsed. I haven't had the product a full week, so I'm not sure how 14 days elapsed. They gave me a cancellation number for what they claim was my subscription, which was also not authorized. I thought I was just buying a sample, and do not know where the 14 day return or $149.90 info was hidden when I ordered it. I certainly never would have ordered a $150.00 cigarette intentionally. What a scam! I would like my money refunded. $149.90 was taken out of my very meager checking account, causing financial hardship.

I ordered this for my husband through an ad on Facebook, which stated it was $25.00. I received the merchandise in a timely manner. When we received the bank statement, we had been charged $149.90 plus $4.50 for an "international transaction fee." I called my bank, and they gave me the company's phone number. I was on hold for a very long time before a female representative took my call. She was very argumentative, and in the end, she offered to refund only $70.00.

I ordered the 14 day free trial. I was given a receipt for $14.95 for shipping and handling. $54.90 was taken out of my checking account. I called the company, they claim that was an authorization fee. I told them to put that money back. It was put back 2 days later. The 14 day free trial begins the day you order. It was not until 5 days later. I called the company, told them product was not like advertised. Cigarette tasted like sulfur. They said they would send another one, maybe bad battery.
It came today but that is now 8 days ago so 14 day trial now is expired. I was told if I mail it back, I would be charged $65.00 for re-stocking fee. I told her no you won't. I hung up on the representative, went to my bank, changed my debit card and checking account. Both items will be sent back and they can smoke it themselves. I called Channel 7 TV news I told them, I also called Arizona police station, I also reported to the BBB.

This place is a scam and 3 of the 4 people I talked to I could barely understand. They had to repeat what they were saying many times! They say now that I did not return the trial product and they want the RMA number or tracking number. I no longer have these numbers because I thought everything was taken care of when I called on 7/28/10. $149.90 and $69.90= $219.80.

I submitted order on August 5, 2010. In less than an hour later I called to cancel the order. A lady using a name of Cyrel (I asked her twice to spell her name) refused to cancel the order and gave me a RMA number to return the so called free trial after I received it. A charge of $9.95 was put on my checking account. I disputed the charge and the bank removed it. A few days later I called the toll free number and spoke to a lady named Jenny (I asked her twice to spell it). She sounded just like the lady named Cyrel. I returned the package unopened on August 13, 2010. I am not responsible for any further charges.
I read and printed the terms and conditions before I placed the order. I checked the website again on August 15, 2010, and found that the company had added a new paragraph in the terms and conditions. Who knows how many changes are made to the terms and conditions by the company and then apply them retroactively to the detriment of a customer? I also found that the company has at least three different websites and two toll free numbers. I have written to the Attorney General in Arizona about the company. The company takes advantage of nicotine addicted people who are economically disadvantaged and have a limited e-cigarette company to choose from.
I would strongly recommend that a person read and print the Terms of Agreement before submitting an order. The attorney general cannot represent an individual but can use complaints filed with the BBB to file a lawsuit against if warranted. Several years ago the Attorney General in Washington DC used complaints filed against a company named In phonic to file a lawsuit. The company sold Cell phones and processed cell phone rebates. It established difficult rebate term for customers. A judgment forced the company to redo the rebate claims. The company went out of business and filed bankruptcy but still had to pay the rebates. It is worth the time to file a complaint with the BBB. I paid for return shipment of the so called free trial package. It costs me shipping supplies not to mention my time.

I am trying to stop smoking, so when I got an email from Prado about trying their electronic cigarette for cost of S&H, I bought it 17 days ago. Yesterday, Prado took a $149.90 charge from my bank account. On phoning them, I was told it was a valid charge, as I had not returned the product or canceled the account within 14 days and that I should have read everything on the site. I did! I was extremely careful, precisely because I did not want an unexpected charge! It was not made clear, one had 14 days, let alone that a $149.90 charge would be levied. Of course, I cannot now find that trial offer site to prove anything, so I am stuck with the charge.
Apparently I have lots of company, reading all the complaints about Prado. This company is fraudulent, no other way to put it.

My story is similar to the seemingly hundreds already reported on Consumeraffairs.com. I purchased their trial kit from Smokefreely.com, expecting to get a few samples, and bought an extra electronic cigarette cartridge (July 28th). The free trail kit was for $14.95 and the extra cartridge was $10 making my total $24.95. Today (Aug 12) there is a charge for $149.50 on my account that I did not authorize and was not expecting (this is also apparently a monthly charge -- like ****). I called the company and spoke to a "Jeannie", who said that I should have read the terms and condition, that I was liable for the charges, and that no refunds are ever given. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said that her supervisor was in a meeting and I should call back in 4 hours to speak with her. (I've read other reports and several people got the same answer).
I got upset, and she offered me an $80 refund. I asked for a full refund again and she said that it's in my best interest to take her offer because there is a $45 fee for refunds plus I'd be responsible for costs associated with returning the product, and that all pieces must be returned for the refund to go through; so if I've used any cartridges, it wouldn't be accepted back. She then offered me $100 (to go away). I was only able to get her to agree to canceling my account (didn't even know I had an account) which meant that they wouldn't charge me again next month. What's really frustrating is that the product didn't even work well. It's not comparable to smoking no matter what their website says and after a few inhales, the cartridge would run out of smoke/mist (if you're familiar with how the devise is to work) so I didn't even get any use out of it but thought since it was only $25, I wouldn't bother returning it).

I am dealing with two business, one is the electronic cig, company the other is the smoking stick. I have read everyone's complaints and it is true. Both companies have charged my account in the amount of $300 total. I have never received anything. Yes, I did agree with the shipping and handling for $4 (something like that). It all started in July 2010. When I spoke to the smoking stick company they said it was my fault. The electronic cig company so far didn't do anything. I wanted to speak to a supervisor. Of course, the supervisor was on the phone. The person stated she said it would take 10 minutes. I agreed to hold. I held on for awhile then the phone hung up. This is a scam.

Ripped me off with their free offer. It is not free. They are not in Malta. They are in Scottsdale, AZ. Here is their address: Independent Warranty Facility, North ***, ***, ***, ***.

Prado e-cigs. I got a full refund! After a very long and heated, on my part, telephone conversation on June 28, I was told 'someone' would call me within 24 hours. They did! I was told I would receive a full refund. I just checked! A full refund went into my account on August 3rd! Stick with it! You can get your money back. Insist on speaking with a supervisor.

I too ordered the trial offer of Prado E-Cig on July 17th. I then realized they would begin charging me $149.90 monthly if I did not return the item with confirmation within 2 weeks. I received the product 4 days after ordering which was on July 21st. In the meantime, I began calling them to cancel. Before I received the product, I was given an RMA number by Leah and instructed to return the product in original packaging with the RMA number. I returned the product on July 22nd per their instructions.
I checked and the confirmation was received on July 26th. On July 31st, my credit card was billed for $154.40, which includes an international fee. I did not realize I was actually dealing with an out of country business. I contacted costumer service and spoke with Julie, employee ID no. **. I went through the whole story of how I cancelled it within the allotted time and should have never been charged. I demanded the credit go back on my credit card today. She is going to have to get with her supervisor to be able to do that. And the supervisor is in a meeting (convenient). So I was not able to speak to anyone with authority. She said they may have the credit back on my card within 2-3 days. We will see! I hope so! But the hassle of having to battle with them is ridiculous!
Do not order Prado E-Cigs. It is a scam and a rip-off! The numerous amount of time spent online, telephone, post office, etc., plus the ridiculous international fee that no one mentioned; this has been a major headache and time consuming away from my duties!

I ordered the cigarette and was charged $9.95 for shipping and handling. I checked my account online every day. There was a charge for $149.90 plus $4.50 from the bank for international charge. So, the real company is out of the U.S. which they don't tell you. I now have 5 bounced check charges of $35 each. After arguing with them, they agreed to give me some of my money back, but I had to send them the cigarette. In the meantime, I have drafts coming out of my accounts and more bounced check charges.
If the cigarette place puts back a part of the money that they are supposed to, the bank will take off the overdraft fees because they saw it wasn't my fault. All I can do is hope and pray that they do as they say so the bank will help me. I know what all of you are going through and I feel for you. No more shopping online for me. This was a scam if I ever saw one. I have 5 overdraft fees so far. I will have more because of the drafts I have on my account until something gets straight. I cried all day yesterday because this has just torn my nerves all to pieces. I am still smoking and that is devastating.

I saw their product on one of the Discovery Channels. I let them charge my debit card on 7/19 for $24.85. When it arrived it did not work. When I complained, the customer service woman said "all we can do is tell you to watch the video online." Red flag #1. I found a second customer service number at their website smokefreely.com. The man there said "sounds like your charger isn't working, I'll send you a replacement." About two weeks later, it arrived and it still didn't work, so I called them back and received a return authorization number and address and I mailed it back to them on 8/2/2010. I took a short trip and checked my checking account online and saw where they had charged me $149.90 plus international service fees of $10.40 and $4.50 because their other address is in Malta. I didn't agree to any charges. They owe me $185.65 and I've filed a police department complaint (the Scottsdale police won't initiate it).
Looking here, this obviously has happened to other people. It appears to be a scam! Tell everyone you know including Discovery Channel company who I believe ran the original TV ads (their logo is on smokefreely.com's site). I've been cheated out of $185.65 so far and have had to cancel my debit card with my bank to prevent them adding additional charges.

Ordered the free trial item and paid for postage and handling. Now being charged $149.90 for nothing.

Prado Electronic Cigarettes. I bought the 'free trial' kit, plus 10 extra filters and a carry case. The total cost was $34.80. My account also showed a charge of 35 cents for international transaction! I called to cancel and get the RMA number. A hard sell then ensued to try to change my mind. When that failed, I was told I would be charged $44 for re-stocking and I would receive no refund for the rest of my purchase! After much arguing, the re-stocking fee was waived and my complaints would be forwarded to the appropriate department. I was told I would receive a call within 24 hours. We'll see. I then called my bank and cancelled the debit card. I was advised to open a second account to use for online purchases and to keep very little money in it. This I have done. I would advise anyone to go to their banking institution as they look upon these situations as fraudulent and will call the company, on your behalf, argue the case and threaten fraud! This company stinks. Their attitude stinks.

I ordered the "free trial" of Prada e cigs. After reading all the complaints, I realized I made a big mistake. They are taking money out of people's accounts for services they never received. It is a scam to steal from people. I tried this morning to call and get the requested RMA number to return it. The numbers lead nowhere. I beat them to the punch and canceled my card. False advertising is fraudulent and a crime. Hopefully, this Prada offer can be investigated and shut down so more people don't get caught up in it. I learned my lesson. Don't believe "free trial". It caused me stress of worrying my bank account would be drained, with $149.00 for nothing, $44.00 to return! I am stressed because I fell for it in search of an easy way to quit smoking.

I also ordered from these creeps. I immediately closed my accounts after I read all these complaints. They won't be getting my money.

An attempted "free" trial, for $9.99 S&H then I got a call at 7am from my bank that they actually charged $39.90 (rude awakening there). Then I found the consumer complaints here. So decided to file a complaint with Arizona's Attorney General (Prado's business address is listed in Tempe AZ).

Consumers, beware! After contacting the Prada customer service, I was told the $9.95 trial offer comes with some pretty hefty additional charges. And the so called "free trial" gives you 10 days. If you keep the product, you will be billed "big bucks". If you return the product, you are charged $44.00 restocking fee! So, the so called "free trial" will cost you $55. And you have nothing to show for it except a $55 deduction on your bank card! It's pretty pathetic! Companies like this would do much better if they honored their offer.
I'm sure they would have many happy returning customers. It's too bad they choose to be deceptive and deplete our bank accounts. How do these people sleep at night? Or, maybe they don't. They're probably up all night thinking of ways to scam people out of their hard earned money! Honestly, there should be a law against this type of business! Decent product, I was going to re-order. When I read about other people's problems, I called the company. Damage result: It's going to cost me the $9.95 plus $44.00 restocking fee.

This company said they were charging me $9.95 in shipping for a free starter kit of their electronic cigarette. Instead, they first charged me $79.90 and then $9.95. I tried to cancel by phone but have no luck. I am out $79.90 and had to cancel my debit card, and I am spending the day making calls to change automatic withdrawals.

I purchased a Prado starter e-cigarette for $14.95 and ended up paying around $180 for something I did not sign up for. They refused to refund my money after I cancelled.

I got ripped off by this company, too. I've been waiting 6 weeks for a refund and I followed all their little rules and they even say I'm eligible for a refund. I complained and everybody else should complain to the Arizona Attorney General **.

I ordered a trial from Smoke Freely in Tempe Arizona in, I believe February 2010. Within 24 hours, it became apparent that the product was not working, not charging. I called and was told to send it back and they would send me a replacement, which I did. Before receiving the replacement, I received 69.99 worth of replacement cartridges which I did not order. I called and was told that there was was box on the on-line order form that was checked so that I would automatically receive four boxes of replacements each month. I said I didn't want them because I hadn't checked the box and that I wanted to opt out of this service. The gentleman said okay.
I finally received my replacement battery and oddly enough, it still wouldn't hold a charge. USB adapter light would only show green, never red and never was the e-cigarette charged. I was trying to quit smoking and so ordered another brand of e-cigarette. In April, I received another package of nicotine filters from PRado/Smoke Freely. I immediately called and spoke to Christine. I told her my situation and added that the cigarette still did not work. She asked me to send everything (the AC adapter, the USB adapter, the cigarette, and the four newest nicotine replacements back to them and they would
1) credit my account for the 2nd batch I did not order and2) send me a completely new set up. I sent the package USPA "delivery confirmation."
After USPA noted delivery of the package to Smoke Freely, several weeks passed and still no replacement nor was my account credited. I finally called them and was told, by the same "nice" woman who I had spoken with previously that "they're no longer giving refunds" and that "the cigarettes are on back order." I reminded her of what she promised me the last time we spoke (I had included a letter in the package I sent outlining what she told me on the phone) and she said she was sorry but no refund. There was nothing she could do. Fine, send me my filters that I sent back to you for a refund. I finally got everything this week (memorial weekend). The cigarette appears to be an upgraded version; however, the USB charger is the same exact charger I sent back to them in May! It has the same defects. It still lights green even when the cigarette is blinking indicating that it needs a charge, the cigarette is still not working. Absolutely the worst. So, now I have 140+ dollars worth of product that doesn't work.

This is my second company in about three weeks. The company will not respond to my e-mails regarding my orders. They sure have gotten their money. I did get someone in customer service once and they said they could not help me regarding orders. They hung up. I used the address online for order info. All my responses were "does not exist or could not be found." Folks, beware of Prado E-cigs. This is the first time I have had such a problem with ordering over the internet. This will also be the last.

I placed an order for $81.80 on 2 May 2010. Posted to my Visa on 4 May 2010. As of 20 May 2010, I have not received it. The order info on line does not work. The contact us does not work. I also ordered a new battery, it did not work. I mailed it back about 3 weeks ago and cannot get info on the status of that. My account was charged for the battery that did not work also. I have paid for a new battery, and other accessories stated above and have not received any of them. But, they certainly have their money.

There was no small print on the website that listed any additional charges.

I ordered a "10 day free trial" of this product on April 23rd. I returned the product to them with the authorized return number on May 3rd. I was charged the full price of 150.79 on May 3rd. I have been told I will only receive a refund of 104.93. It has been 15 days since I returned the product and I still have not received my refund. A charge of 45.86 even when the product is returned unopened is not in any way shape or form free. The minimum cost of this free trial is 55.55.

I saw this ad in the internet, and started filling out the required information. While filling the in the information, I started reading the fine print, where I would be charged either $49 or $89 dollars a month. I immediately erased the information, and never hit the submit button. When I checked my email, there was an email stating that my order already had been shipped. I returned the email, and told them I didn't click the submit button, and ever since, I have been getting the runaround from this company. I called my charge card service, and told them and they said I would not be charged. I received the package in the mail anyway. I haven't opened the package. I didn't even open the shipping bag it came in.
I received another notice this weekend that I was receiving another shipment, and not to try to send it back, because they would refuse delivery. I have written repeatedly and ask them to get this problem straight, and they insist on me paying $149 for the "trial offer". I have all the email correspondence for your review. When I called customer service to get a return number, I was put on hold for 30 minutes, and then I hung up. I called twice more, and was put on hold. I wasn't ever able to talk with the customer service to get a return number. I emailed the company, and told them about being put on hold, and basically they said I was lying. They refused to provide me with a return number via internet.
The damage includes the stress and harassment from this company. My charge card is being billed for $149.00, for something I did not order, and tried to get cancelled immediately. They even said they would not take the package back, if I returned it. Please help me with this matter. $300 was charged to my credit account, and I was stressed from being ripped-off.

Prado E-cigarette is blatantly ripping people off. They charge you all kinds of fees, including a 30% restocking fee. The product is bad, the customer service is horrible, and the money they extract from your checking account is unbelievable. I am looking for people to organize a class action suit. Anyone know a good class action attorney? I'll get it going. I am beyond upset about Prado's poor business practices.

As many customers have complained about I went through the same thing. Shipping was supposed to be $9.95 and I was charged $14.95 I noticed 2 days later they had charged me $39.95. When I called to ask why the charge, I couldn't get an answer. Well 4 days later I was starting to panic because I knew about the 10 days but the cigs hadn't arrived yet. I called and finally reached an agent and asked for a RMA number so as soon as I received the package I could return it. He said he of course wouldn't give me one and assured me it would be here soon. I got it on the 9th day and 30 minutes later I was charged the full $189.95, so I called and of they said my time was up but I could still cancel the monthly shipments so I did. Two days later the Prado E- Cigarette broke and when I called about the lifetime warranty, it says it has on the web and the paper work that come with it! Don't give up on all e-cigs. They work well and this company seems to be a fraud!

I saw it online, it said, only pay $14.95 S/H and get a Prado Electric cigarette starter kit. I paid the $14.95 and I received the starter kit and it doesn't work. And now, they have taken out money from my checking account 2 times that I know of and the amounts are $146.81 and $71.16! Now, I want my money back! This is not even cool. I'm a single mother of 2 boys trying to quit smoking and they are taking advantage of people! I really would like an answer or I will call a lawyer. Because they took more money out of my checking account, my rent check will probably bounce!

I ordered a trial e-cigarette offer for only $9.95 for shipping. I received the order 8 days later and had to charge it before using. I found it to be very strong and I just plain didn't like it. Thinking oh well I only out $10.00. Four days later I get a $150.00 charge taken from my debit card.WOW! If you don't contact them within 10 days from the order date, and get a special number you cannot return it. This is what I found out when I finally reached a very rude customer service agent. He told me there will be no refund.
If I read the agreement terms I would have seen that they automatically charge your account. This is crazy. I've gotten 2 overdrafts which of course I can't afford. Tomorrow I have to go to my bank and cancel my debit card and get a new one. My bank is blocking anymore charges from this PRADO E-CIGARETTES. Plus I'm filing a grievance. I hope I can get this money back. This is my groceries. I too am spreading the word any way I can about these rip off artists including the BBB Very bummed in Buxton Maine.

These people are ruthless and will do anything in their power to charge you $150 for their terrible product. You will not receive the electronic cigarette until day 6 or 7, which in the fine print is when the trial starts. This is what happened to me. I received it, then tested it for a couple of days. The weekend past, then on Monday, I called and said I do not like your product and I would like to cancel my trial. They said it's been canceled. So I thought, hmm, why didn't they want me to send it back? Then, I realized they charged me $150 for the unit. That's when I called them up and asked them what's going on. They said that I had passed my trial date and that I could not return the item. They are not open on weekends, so what are you supposed to do?
These people are out for a quick buck. Hopefully, my credit card company will step in and help me out. After all these complaints, the CC company will surely and eventually not want to do business with them. Buyers beware. Do not purchase anything from these crooks! They will take your money and claim you are in the wrong!

I ordered the unit on a 14 day trial. I received the unit seven days later but noted that the trial period began from the time the unit was ordered as my card was immediately charged. The unit does not work. I tried to contact them at the customer service number but there is no answer. I now see a charge of $149 on my card. I am disputing the charge with my card company.

I ordered a trial offer for E-cigarettes for my friend that is trying to quit smoking. I thought it would be a thoughtful gift. I was lead to believe I was only to pay $9.95 for shipping and handling. I was instantly charged $40.13 cents. I tried to call and I got a voice message that said they where closed for the day. I called back first thing at 8:15 in the morning. I was told it was too late to cancel and it had already shipped. Really, what company ships first thing at 7:00 am? And what shipper picks up that early? I worked with shippers before and you had to first schedule a pick-up and the earliest pick time is usually 9:00 am. Lies. No one ships that quick unless they personally delivered the package themselves to the post office or shipping company.
So I rechecked their website because I was told "you agreed to our terms and conditions" to find that it contradicts it self the father down you read. Like "just send in any damaged component and we will replace it for free! No questions asked." Contradiction to "return will not be accepted unless it is determined that the items where originally shipped in a damaged or malfunctioned condition--this determination will be made at the sole discretion of the ECIG free trial return center." Ahh! Catch 22: they we're just joking when they said no questions asked.
Oh and that lifetime limited warranty is indeed limited to nothing quote, "We make no warranty of any kind regarding the website, trial offer, the value refill auto ship program or any products or services available on this website each of which is provided As Is' and As Available' basis." Lesson learned: read the fine print and do your research before you trust any new company on the internet and if it's free there's no shipping charge they would just give it to you. I now know these red flags. I'm a college student on a limited tight budget. But, hey, I could afford $9.95—ha, what a bust whamp! $40 later, I called my bank and am in the process of disputing the charges. I also changed my debit card number to stop future charges but they can still somehow push a charge through. So I'll wait to see it they can further rob me of my limited resources.

Like many other reports on this site about this company, I signed up for a 10-day trial of the eCig for $9.95. I did read the terms of service and saw that the ten days began at the moment of purchase and that I had to get a return number within that ten days and had a total of 14 days to get it back to them. The product did not arrive for 7 days. It was not charged and ready to be tried until the 8th day, at which time I discovered that the product did not work. I called the customer service number and told them that the product did not work. They did not seem to care and simply asked if I wanted the RMA number to send it back. I got one and since it was the weekend, I knew the package would not get there by shipping it regular, so I had to spend $18.35 to overnight it and make sure it was returned in time.
After doing this, I discovered that they had taken the $149.58 for the product days earlier. I called and was told that they take the full price on the 10th day but it would be returned to my account when the product is received at their office. This was maddening to me because I did not see that in the terms of service, but they insisted it was there so I let it go. As long as I get the money back, I wasn't worried. The day after the post office confirmed they got the package, the money had still not been returned. I called and they said that it takes 3-5 business days for the money to be put back after the 24 hours it takes to process the return. They asked for my account info and saw that they had not processed a return yet.
I told them that it had been confirmed as arriving the previous day and they put the note on the account to start the processing. I also mentioned again that the product did not work when I received it and that should at least change the way they are handling this, but they did not agree. A day or two later, I got a credit to my account for $102 and change. It was well before the 3-5 days obviously and I thought maybe that was why the full amount wasn't returned. I actually thought they might have been trying to show me that they were making an effort to resolve the situation. I was wrong. I called back today (when the 3-5 business days was officially up) and asked why I did not get the full amount returned. They told me that they do not refund the full amount, they take a 30% "restocking fee" from each order and that it is clearly in the terms of service.
I fought them on this because I, unlike many people, did actually read the terms and I would not agree to a free trial that resulted in being charged 30% of the price of the product, whether I kept it or not. It clearly stated that you get to try the product for free, minus the cost of shipping. The person on the phone did nothing, but said that I was wrong. So I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was transferred to the same rude jerk I spoke to the last time and he just repeated what the girl had said about the 30%. I stated that since I had received a defective product, didn't he think something should be done or that their "rules" should be changed? He said there was nothing he could do. He said he was not authorized to return the full purchase price.
I then asked to speak to someone higher than him that may be able to help and he said that "nobody is authorized to make a full return". I stated that I find it quite unlikely that nobody in their entire business was authorized to make a full return for a product that was defective. He stuck by his ridiculous statement. I threatened him with a lawsuit and hung up. I don't know where to turn from here, but I am worried about getting charged the monthly cartridge refill price of $70 each month because I see that many others on this site were. I work part-time and go to school full-time, and I can't have my account being overdrawn every month for a refill charge and it surely would.
Aside from that, I do not want to lose even more money for a stupid free trial product I never got to try. So far, I have lost around $70 between the original "free trial" price, the shipping back and the 30% restocking fee. If they start to charge me every month like everyone else, who reported them on this site, it will be another $70 each month apparently.

I ordered Green Smoke from a site that offered several different companies e-cigarettes. In addition to the one I did order, I was sent a starter pack for Prado E-Cigarettes, which I did not order or want. I immediately sent the package back. I didn't bother to call the company because I looked on their site and it said that there was a trial period which I was well within the timeline to get a refund.
I was charged $149.00 for the product that I sent right back. I tried calling numerous times and finally got a hold of customer service. The agent told me that he could not refund my money as he didn't see in his system that any package was received. I cancelled with him that day to prevent any future deliveries or charges. I was gonna just let it go because I didn't want to bother with canceling my checking account and all that goes along with that. Yesterday, I was charged $69.90. I just got off the phone with them (at least I got through) and was told that they have shipped a refill package to me.
I asked, if I send it back the day I received it, can I be refunded at that point, and he said absolutely not. They have a no return policy. I explained the problems I had before and that I cancelled with them at that time. He just said he can cancel now to prevent any further shipments. I told him I intend on filing a police report, and he told me that was fine. I didn't read the return policy, it's my fault. I never ordered this product to begin with! As a person who shops almost exclusively online, I have never dealt with such a horrible company and will make it a point to tell anyone who will listen what a rip-off this company is in every way!

I wanted to try this with a trial offer of 14 days. They do not allow for mail time. They start the 14 days from the time you order, and by the time you get it, your trial period is up. The cigarette made me sick and they had already charged my card for $149.15 and refuse to take the kit back and refund my money. I only had the stupid thing one day.

This message is in regards to a complaint I filed with you on April 12, 2010, concerning Prado Electronic/Smoke Freely. After several attempts, on April 15, 2010, out of the $149.90 and less the 30% restocking fee, I did receive a refund of $104.93. Immediately, I canceled my check card and issued another, because of reading the many complaints on your website.
I did write the company about my issues and let them know that I would be joining the many complainants, and hopefully, soon, they would be held accountable for their business practices. I would very much like to thank you for what you are doing for consumers. Before dealing with anyone in the future, I will, most definitely, check them out with you and the BBB. Again, thanks much.

I wish I had found and read this site before getting involved with Prado. When you first read the 10 day risk free order form, the terms and policy attached misrepresents what the real one is on the website. Ten days starts as soon as you hang up the phone. I did not notice this until they emptied my bank account between paydays and put it into overdraft. I had just got the products the day before and still have not opened it. I had ordered two, one for me and the wife. Since they took the money, I opened one of them up and tried it. It was way too strong and nothing on anything told me what the MG content was.
I contacted my bank and put a hold on the account and the charge, but visa guaranteed it. One was refused so they took $149.52 total. I tried it once, had gotten the RMA# and returned it on a two-day delivery, which was the due date. I had it insured and have a confirmation of them receiving it, signed for. So far I'm into it a total of $50 plus what they are going to not send back. I'm thinking it will be $150 by the time this is over and a closed checking account to boot. I now have to go through the trouble of transferring all my automatic withdrawals from that account to another, which will probably take 1 to 2 months before it's all back to normal. All because I wanted to quit cigarettes and contacted Prado.

This the biggest scam I have seen in a long time. I reported this on April 12, 2010. They sent me an auto ship on 4/12/2010 that I did not order. I cancelled and returned their product and it was received by them on 3/29/2010, but they still sent me more cig, with no Prado machine as it was returned. I called and they said I can't get any money back until I return the new shipment, which I just got. Now, I have to spend $6.25 again to return this order. That doesn't mean I will get my money back. They have told me it was being processed many times but no money back, just stories. This needs to be turned over to the attorney general as a major fraud.

This company is scamming people out of their hard earned money. I fell into the trap but after doing some research I found many complaints and changed my card number before they could charge any more on it. I also filed a complaint with the BBB on the internet. Please everyone file a complaint and maybe they will be shut down before they can scam anyone else.

Ordered product on March 18, 2010. Received product on March 21. I called March 22 to make sure my ten-day free trial began on day of purchase. I was told yes, but I had 4 extra days, 14 total in which to send back. I called back the same day and spoke with Jake about the auto shipment of the filters. I wanted to know if I had to be on auto shipment because I did not want to be obligated. I was told no and that I could be taken off and order filters as needed. If I decided to send it back I would need to get an RA number before March 26. I called on March 23. The ecig was not working properly. I spoke with Jake. He told me I should plug it in for another 8 hours. I did so.
I called on March 24. The ecig was still not working. I spoke with a lady. She said I needed a new battery and if I ordered one I would still only have the ten days in which to return the ecig. I said forget it. I would send it back. So I got an RA number from her. Returned it on March 25 via USPS (first class, priority, and insured). Package arrived on March 29 according to post office. I called on April 2 to find out status of refund. Spoke with Jake. He said refund would take 3 to 5 business days to process from the time they receive the product. Since the process had not begun, the product was not returned. He was very rude and when I asked to speak to someone in authority, he stated that that is what customer reps were for. Called back April 2 and spoke with someone named Shaun who was nicer. He said they could have the return, but they were busy and it might take up to 10 days to process. I should call back to check on the status.
I called April 6 and spoke with Aurora. I was told return had not been processed. I should call back on Monday, April 12. I did so and spoke with Shaun at 3:20 pm. He stated the return process had not taken place because they had not received the product. He suggested I call my post office to see if they could tell me if and when it arrived in Tempe, Arizona at Smoke Freely. I did so. Spoke with Jamie. He told me it had arrived on Monday, March 29, 2010. I called back, April 12 and spoke with Jake at 3:37 pm. Told him when package arrived at their facility. He said he needed a tracking number. So I called my post office again and spoke with Jamie. He said my tracking number was the number on my insured receipt. I called back and spoke with Jake again. I gave him the info and he said to hold a moment.
A few minutes later he came back and stated that they have no record of the package being returned. The tracking number I had given him was of no help and without proof of my returning the product, there was nothing they could do. I explained that this was not of my making. They had sent me a defective product and I had and have done everything asked of me to resolve this situation. He then stated that I should fax them a copy of my cost and insured receipts. So I did. I called back on April 12. Spoke with someone named John at 4:08 pm. Asked to speak with Jake. He said I could not at this time. I asked if he could check to see if they had received my fax. He said he could not, but he would tell Jake that I called and to let him know I faxed all info requested.
I called on April 13. Spoke with John at 11:10 am. He could not leave the station to find Jake and I should give it a day and call back. I called again, April 13 and spoke with Shaun at 11:58 am. He said tracking number was no good. I needed to get more evidence to see if I could get any proof from my post office stating when it was returned. I called my post office and spoke with Doris at 12:06 pm. She said she could print me out a confirmation with date and time. So I went to the PO and picked it up. Returned from PO and sent fax to Jake at 1:35 pm. At 1:52 pm I received call from Jake stating that I would receive a refund of $104.93 (3 to 5 business days) and not the $149.90, stating I had to pay a 30% restocking fee. Needless to say, my arguing with him did not help. He stated all customers pay a restocking fee and that I was not the exception.
Like millions of others we do not have the $149.90 just lying around. It is a big chunk to us. Trying to quit smoking is a struggle already without having to deal with a company like this. The frustration in dealing with this company can exhaust you. I hate the fact I cannot do anything about the 30% restocking fee. The return was for a mistake the company made, not mine. It is too early to tell if I will receive my monies. If not I will continue to call and harass anyone I can. I filed a claim with the Arizona BBB. I do agree that something or someone needs to put a stop to them or their business practices. Thanks so much for letting me vent and for having this site for people to raise awareness about this company and others like them.

I signed up for the free product (cost of shipping is only $9.95). Two days later, 4 more charges showed up on my account, 2 for 60 cents, and 2 for $19.97. I did not notice the charges until a week later when another charge showed up, this time for $150. This company is a complete scam and is stealing from my bank account. I've closed the account. This is how scam artists work, they charge small amounts to your account to see if you'll notice, then they will start draining the account.
