John of Clearfield UT writes (11/12/01):
I am a mildly disabled American Veteran. I was awarded a 20% disability. I also retired from active military duty after 20 years with the Air Force. I recieve about $197.00 per month for my disability but get this ... I have $197.00 withheld from my retirement check to pay myself for my disability. Do you think any other Governement agencies do this? NO! The FBI, CIA, Senators, Representatives of Congress, FEMA all have traditional disability programs. Retired Military members with disabilities are getting screwed. Just thought you could look into this matter and print it so at least I'll feel a bit better when I pay myself for being injured while on active duty. |
