Prodigy Law Group, Inc.

Irvine, CA

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I received a cold call from Prodigy Law Group in June 2009, they had knowledge of my mortgage situation and my need for a modification. I paid Prodigy Law Group $3000 with the promise of assistance to obtain a modification or pursue a lawsuit to gain ownership of my home due to wrong doing my lender. Prodigy sent 3 letters to my lender in total from June '09 to April 2010. These letters were to request documents.

In March 2010, Prodigy Law Group sent me a letter indicating they could not help me and was closing my file. They indicated that because my mortgage company did not provide them the requested docs. I am so very disappointed that any company, attorney or otherwise, could scam a struggling homeowner with the pitch that they could save their home, when their underlying agenda was just to scam them and take what little money they do have. I hope that I can meet with others who have been scammed by them and pursue a class action lawsuit to make them pay for their actions.

I took a loan I could not afford to obtain services that provided absolutely no service, just total disappointment. I want my $3000 back from Prodigy Law Group, they did nothing to earn this money.

Them people are freaking thief. They took $3000 from saying that they would help lower my mortgage. They never did anything. When I called them, the number is no longer in service. They would pay for everything they did to people. Because it is too hard outer for someone to do that to people.

I contacted Prodigy law group to investigate the loan made by me. I was charged 1,500 dollars and was to send in by mail original documents of a QWR (Qualified Written Report) and was not heard from again. I contacted BBB, Hunting Beach Ca. 92605. BBB informed me that they have written to Prodigy many times and have gotten no response to this matter.

I paid money 1500 dollars and submitted original documents as requested with no remedy service. I was scammed and out of money sent.

Same old story. Trusted prodigy law group, paid them $3500 on about 03/01/08, faxed a "load" of records to them and the BoA, countless phone calls getting nowhere and now can't get in touch with them! The BoA sent me another letter saying that they won't modify my home loan because of my new "disabled" status and that they will either have a short sale or foreclose on me within 30 days! Another lesson, you had best not trust anyone concerning a fix for your "up-side-down" home loan. Did I reach out and trust Prodigy Law Group?

I paid up front $3500 to Prodigy Law Group for absolutely nothing. I thought I'd done my homework, felt fairly comfortable hiring a law firm to work out a loan modification for me as I was getting nowhere on my own. They "closed" my file after 10 months using my bank as an excuse. They're losers and scam artists themselves. I pray for everyone who fell into this scam as I did. I lost $3500 and still no loan.

In Jan. 2010, we received a phone call from Prodigy Law Group about doing a modifiaction loan. I had been unemployed at the time since May 2009. I was 4 months behind on our mortage and desparate for help. They told me that we could get a modifacation loan in a matter of weeks. Well after paying them $2500.00 we never heard from them dispite numerous calls, emails, messages left for Alex Wilson, Phong Le, Anthony Williams and Gregory Griffin. I found out on March 22 during a conferance call to our lender including mysself, Shakita from BOA, and Anthony Williams from Prdigy that NO PAPERWORK HAD BEEN RECEIVED FROM PRODIGY!

I had to actually give verbal authorization to discuss the account. I also found out that our home had been in foreclosure since March 4th and up for short sale on May 5th. Prodigy NEVER notified us about these events. Then we received a letter in the mail from BOA's attorney with this information on it. I called them directly and in 2 WEEKS WAS ABLE TO (BY MYSELF) TURN EVERYTHING AROUND BY WORKING DIRECTLY WITH THE LENDER!

So if anybody needs paid here...It's ME! People, WORK directly with your lender. Do not listen to someone elses problem with their lender (like we did), but if we would have done that sooner than later we would not have been so desparate for help. Plus the fact that Prodigy preys upon homeowner's in this same situation. From dealing with Prodigy Law Group for months I ended up with severe depression and severe panic attacks. I would just like to be refunded my $2500.00, plus attorney costs (to send them a letter reqesting refund), on top of pain and suffering.

In July of 2009, I paid $3,500.00 for Prodigy Law Group, to assist me with a mortgage loan modification with my mortgage carrier. At first, there were many individuals contacting us, and they even sent a notary public to our home, with numerous forms for us to sign. After this, we heard nothing for several months. We contacted their law offices by phone, and would leave messages, and very seldom were our calls returned. We were informed that the best way to get our questions answered, was to email them through our client rep Anthony **.

On December 18, 2009, we were asked to again send them an additional $300.00 for an appraisal of real property, so they could proceed with the modification. From January 2010 to present, we have not been able to get any answers from this law firm. We have received a foreclosure notice from our finance company. I am also going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, The Federal Trade Commission, and the PA & CA State Attorney General's Public Inquiry Units. At present, my home is in a foreclosure status. I have depleted my savings, to pay for the loan modification, and I am 5 months behind on my mortgage.

They took $3,750 to do a so-called "guaranteed" loan modification. We talked 3-4 times a day so they could get all our paperwork. They even sent a notary to our home to pick up everything. They said that we would hear back from them in 30-60 days. This was July 2009. On Sept. 2009, they called and said that the banks had all paperwork and they need up to 180 days to settle. "Be patient," they said.

In the meantime, we used our whole second to make house payments. And around December, there was no word from them. I then started to call and no answer or just a voice mail. Then, at the end of December 2009, they had no phone service for 10 days or so. I sent emails and they got sent back, marked as undeliverable. In Jan. 2010, I received an email from Felicia stating that the phones were down and they were still waiting. But when I would call, all I would still get was voice mail.

I then contacted BofA myself and started proceedings. They said that they spoke to Prodigy back in September but there was nothing since then. In Feb., I got an email from Felicia that they declined us, which was a lie because they had not even viewed it at that time. Since then, she has not responded to any emails and phone--some days, it goes through to voice mail but most, it just does not work. Funny when they wanted our money. They were by the phone nonstop but once they got it, they just pretended you do not exist.

They are scammers and need to be prosecuted. They stole a full house payment from us and now, it looks as though we might loose our house. This could have been avoided if we had contacted the bank in the beginning, but Prodigy told us we were not allowed to contact the lender. They are crooks and something needs to be done. We even checked them out with better business and they had a 99% good rating. It is all a scam.

I paid $6300 to have this Prodogy Law Group, Inc. firm assist me in a loan re-modification with my mortgage bank JP Chase Mortgage. I spoke with many individuals probably at least 12 including Mr. Gary **, the attorney with the Prodogy Law Group firm. I was told that if for what ever reason a deal breaker could not be made, I would have plenty of time to file a "short sale." I signed all documents they had requested for me to sign so they could work on my behalf after I made payment to them in full. Communication seemed to be working well with agreement contracting in June until September 30, 2009.

In mean time, Chase mortgage called and recognized this law firm was assisting me and therefore they the law firm would alert me as the restructure get moving along. November 1st came and I had not received any communication during that month. End of November I phoned the Law Firm with no return call, the e-mails were all returning back to me as "undeliverable." I began to panic. End of November, I phoned Chase Mortgage, and they assured me not to worry that my file with in Re-modification / finance area and that there was a notice on my file that the Prodogy Law Firm was working on my behalf, not to worry.

December 29th, 2009, I drove to southern California and stopped in at the Law firm in Irvine. I went to that office to find out that I was not allowed to go to the 7th floor as I would need a pass code. I phoned their office and was literally put on hold for 45 minutes until finally I was connected to an individual which we both realized we were both clients of Prodogy Law Firm and we both had a pending case since June and July 2009, and we were waiting to hear back from them. I clearly knew at this point this Law Firm was a farse! Upon my return home, I contacted Chase, they said they would be returning my phone call.

January 26th, a private investor arrived at my home at 4:00 p.m. with his business card and told my husband that we had 3 days to vacate our home as we no longer were owners of our property. The Sonoma County put my home out for bid and they bought it that afternoon. I was literally in shock! The following morning I phoned Chase Mortgage and learned that this was in fact true, the home sold and supposedly this was the 3rd time it went to bid. That the law firm who "was working on my behalf" received all paperwork of what and where and when this process would be concluded. There was nothing Chase could do as supposedly they did their part and totally denied my modification request.

The down side of all this is that the Prodogy Law Firm was suppose to give me notice alerting me that the bank was not going to budge so I would have time to do a short sale. Now just last week, March 8th, another attorney with Prodogy Law Firm phoned me to tell me that Chase would not work with them and that I should consider filing suite against Chase. I told the individual how interesting as his Law Firm stopped all communication with me since November 1st with all e-mails being returned to me as stated "undeliverable". The man said he didn't understand and he would check into this. Today is March 17, 2010, I have yet to receive a phone call from anyone.

I contacted this law firm for a loan modification back in August 4th 2008. They immediately took $3,500.00 up front and as of today's date 2/15/2010, I still do not have a loan modification. According to Wachovia Mortgage, they have nothing in the system that shows I have ever been represented by a law firm. I have been working with my mortgage company myself and have sent them documentation before Christmas trying to obtain a modification before I end up in foreclosure. Prodigy Law Group would return calls or respond to repeated emails. I requested an statement of account showing what they did to justify me paying them $3,500.00 without any response. This law firm preys on the misfortune of innocent people and should be charged with fraud and embezzlement like any person that steals money. They should not be allowed to practice and should be held accountable.

I hired Prodigy Law Group in June 2009 to help us get a mortgage modification on our first and second mortgage. We sent in all the documentation, several times as they lost it several times also. We paid them $4500.00 while communication was spotty at best.

We got our foreclosure papers in November, and they assured us that things were going just fine. I tried to check in in January. I made 14 calls in all and got no response, this is when I realized that we had been swindled. Now we are less than a month from foreclosure on 3/10/10, out $4500 and a home. There have been not a word from them. They had 7 months, if they couldn't help us they should have told us and given our money back.

I hired them for a loan document audit and to represent me to get a loan modification for my home. They failed in every possible way and did nothing. I have all emails and documents to support this claim and have recorded messages to back up my claim that I was lied to and can provide all email evidence to back all claims of nonperformance in regards to my payment of $1,500.00.

They took $1,500.00 that I had saved to obtain a loan modification to save my home from foreclosure. I have four children all under the age of 6. Their failure to do anything with my case cost me eight months of precious time and $1,500.00. As a result, I have had to hire a new attorney that got the trustee sale stopped eight hours before the date of sale.
