Daniel of Brunswick, GA October 14, 2006

Daniel of Brunswick, GA (10/14/06)
I registered online for a 30-day free trial of People PC Online. After two weeks I was dissatisfied with the service so I called and cancelled. They said okay but told me to call back to get a cancellation confirmation number because their computer was down.  I called back and could not get through after approximately 90 minutes on hold. I assumed it was a done deal and did nothing more until I got my credit card bill and found a charge from People PC.

I called back again and after about an hour on hold I talked to a man who took down the information and told me my credit card would be credited.  Again, I couldn't get a confirmation number because the computers where down.  I called my credit card company and they said they would stop any further charges.

Next statement there was the charge again. I called People PC again, and after 50 minutes on hold got a 17 numerical digit cancellation confirmation. The representative refused to give her name as it was not company policy.  Back to my credit card company, they say they will return charge People PC.

Next statement the previous two month charge is credited, but another 1 month charge is added!  The final insult was that my credit card statement had attached an advertisement for People PC Online!!

I cancelled People PC, an internet provider, in March 2006. I have been billed for this account for over 6 months now and recently learned from my bank that my account, that I never use, is now overdue 90.

I called People PC and they confirmed that I called in March and cancelled. They further stated that they attempted to still collect monthly fees but were unable to. I asked why they would still try and collect on a closed account but the rep had no answer. She attempted to quickly dismiss me and give me another cancelled confirmation number.  I told her we were not through and I asked to speak to a supervisor. After 35 minutes on hold I was told that I could NOT SPEAK to a supervisor and was subsequently hung up on.

No answers to why I was billed nor any solutions to the money I was charged.

APRIL 2006, I called People Pc and asked them to cancell/close my internet service account. They give you a hard sell pitch and try to get you to keep their service to use as a backup if your highspeed goes down. I said no thank you please close my account. They did and gave me a confirmation number which is a mile long. I stopped being charged for two months and assumed they did in fact close my account. Then in July 2006, I was looking at my credit card statement on-line and saw where People PC had debited my account for internet service. I called their customer service and the first associate said they decided to give me two months free service and since I didn't call back to cancell (again) the started charging my credit card.

I wasn't aware they were providing me with service because they did not comunicate that to me in writing and I had uninstalled their service when I went with BellSouth DSL which was in May 2006. Unfortunately, I have misplaced the paper I wrote my confirmation number which they gave me that comfirmed they closed my account when I called them in April. I have contacted my credit card company to inform them that People PC is debiting my account without my authorization.

I have tried to cancell a subscription to peoplepc.com for more than six months, calling numeruos times and trying on line as well, Yet they still continue to deduct money from my account, Twice in march!! I have taked to the supervisor of customer service and she was the rudest service rep I have ever tried to deal with from any company. I believe , I finnally have the debits stopped, but they refused to refund any of the previous amounts they heve taken from me. I have sent an e-mail to the president of the company and am awaiting a response.
