I had peoplepc for a few yrs and cancelled my service about 4 months ago. As of today they have continued to bill me 7.98 a month for service I dont even have. And the thing is that the original monthly bill was 18 and some change and since i cancelled the service, I am being billed the 7.98 monthly.

I called customer service and a person overseas some where asked me if I had proof that I had called and cancelled. I said I had the phone bill with the date and time and peoplepc listed. He then preceeded to ask me to verify my address and what was my account password. I answered correctly even tho i reminded him I no longer have the service. We went around and around, and I told him I was calling my bank and taking action. The reply was that was my option.

I called my bank and they are stopping payment and if that doesnt work, I have to open a whole new checking account after having the present one for many yrs. And it is going to cost me 29.00 to stop payment to this company. This is ridicoulous.

Monetary withdrawls in a fraudulent manner, bank costs and possibly a complete overhaul of all monetary assets and accounts.

I have been using the peoplepc service which, has been alright until a friend told me about a local service which ran a little faster. I tried disconnecting peoplepc and i was told that i would be given three months of service free, and after that it would be dissconected automatically, after the three month period the service was not dissconnected and peoplepc continued to charge my account.

After talking with the bank they told me the best option was to just close my account and open a new one so i did. However, i tried installing the local service and it installed fine but when i try to connect it still connects to peoplepc, even after i deleted the peoplepc. I have tried many other services, netzero, crossroads, and dixie net, but the same thing happens, it still connects to peoplepc. They refuse to answer any attempts i have made to call or email and im still having to connect with peoplepc.

I have lost over 50.00, and however they cant charge me anymore, the service has gotten terrible and as a working musician i need the net to get tabs and music sheets and its just to slow to do that. I have no idea how to get rid of it.  Please Help!

I have lost over 50.00 and i cannot disconect the service

My peoplepc Internet service was cancelled in Jan 2007 when i switched to bell south dsl. Today is 07/02/08, I received my husbands statement from his checking account, which much to my surprise had a charge for peoplepc Internet service. Of course he had no idea that it was on there and never bothers to check his statement, so I called peoplepc and basically they stated that they had no record that the service was cancelled and we are out of 12.45 for every month since Jan 2007 which is about 212.00.

12.45 each month over the last 17 months

I made the mistake of subscribing to Peoplepc...now I wish that I hadn't have done so.I want to unsubscribe, but after reading the horror stories of my fellow Peoplepc victims,I'm afraid there is going to be a problem doing so...the service is terrible...I'm getting so tired of trying to get on line, but instead seeing...cannot find server, page cannot be found, page cannot be displayed,e-mail is temporarily unavailable...the explantion...connection timed out...what is this supposed to mean? Connection timed out even before I can get online? Sheesh...could someone please tell me of a foolproof way to dump this service?
