Peggy of Michie TN (08/13/08)
I canceled service in Dec. '07 and was asked if I wanted to keep my e-mail account for a small fee and I said NO. Was told I had 30 day access to e-mail free. I find out in May '08 that they have been charging 1.95 a month to credit card. I called to cancel and ask for a refund. Could not understand person on other end and they would not let me speak to manager. I was moving and did not call back until August 13. Had to go over the whole story again. They ask all the questions to be sure I'm who I say I am, but when I ask them when I canceled service he said You have to call back with that info I don't have it. I informed him that I was sure he did, after 20 minutes he told me when I canceled service. Then he said I should take it up with my husband because he didn't tell me they were still charging his credit card.I asked for the 10th time to speak to a manager and the guy had the nerve to say all this trouble for so few dollars. This is bad business and they should be shut down!!

I paid if I owe and so should they

I opened my account with peoplepc in 2006. I can celled my service in June 2008. I had a bad feeling and logged back into my account today to find out they were still billing me for services that I canceled well over two months ago. I called customer service where I was told there was nothing I could do and the collections department was going to start calling me.

Adverse account actions. I went to collections for a serivce I cancelled.

I cancelled my dial up internet service with people pc in January 2008 and had already read about the company scamming to continue to bill after cancellation, so when I called I specified to cancel everything including the email address. Well sure enough starting April, I started receiving a bill on my Credit Card to pay for the email address! Of course after a long drawn out argument with customer service, I think it is cancelled. I will also contact the credit card company to make sure they are not authorized to bill to my account. WHAT A HASSLE!

After recieving a dsl service I canceled my Peoplepc service in May. I was told I would recieve a free month because I was a good customer. I was just billed again in July causing an overdraft. I contacted Peoplepc again and was told that they gave me a free month in case i changed my mind on the other service, and that I needed to recontact them to cancel the service.

After complaining hard enough and trying to decipher the broken english from the sevice personel they said they reimbursed my account for the service and canceled it but would not reimburse me the over draft fee. we'll see next month if they really canceled the service.
