Laura of Hillsboro OR (09/12/08)
I still had money withdrawn from my bank account from People PC three months after I had terminated my services with them. When I called them they informed me that, when I set up termination, I authorized a free one month promotional deal with them, and therefore my account was not terminated. Why would I continue services if I am moving away and not sure if I will even have dial-up again?

I moved away and did not notice I was getting billed untill now. They had withdrawn without my knowedge 47.85. They say they will refund it, but is my account actually going to be terminated? I will have to find out when I get my bank statement.

On July 30, 2008 I signed up for people pc dial-up service. I went through all of the windows and there was a window that had two options. one option was to sign for a year and the other was for month to month. I checked the month to month circle. Then gave my checking account number and the very next window my card was being charged 104.00! There was no way to cancel it. I then called and the number was disconnected. I went online and found a number to reach them. I called and called and they couldn't be reached because the lines were buisy.

I finally got a hold of them August 23, 2008 and they said that they couldn't refund me because I should called within 8 days to get my refund! I spoke with one operator and she hung up on me. Then I called again and spoke with a Robert and then he transferred me to a Supervisor Nala and she said that they couldn't refund me that I missed the 8 days. I will never go to them again! Watch out they are a wolf in sheep's clothing! There service is also [bad].

The Hundred and four dollars and some change caused my account to be overdrawn.

The service kept going down and I work from home occasionally so I needed a reliable service. I called PeoplePC and they would not even check the lines which were not working. They said there was no problem. They transfered me to another company, Earthlink which I did not realize. I thought I was still talking to PeoplePC. They are one and the same. The girl set up another account with out my permission. I cancelled with them and cancelled my DEBIT card so they could not bill me. They kept harrassing me over the 10.95 balance and would not take a check. They were NOT getting my card ever again.

I wrote the CFO and mailed my check to him along with a letter why I would not be using them ever again. They still kept calling. Finally I told the CFO via EMAIL that I would file a complaint with the Attorney General of NC if they did not cash my check and leave me alone and stop harassing me. There are laws against it and the AG will represent me for free. After that they cashed my check and thank God I have not heard from them again. Have had dial up with PPC for several years with no problem. In May 2008 I bought a new computer and needed a new disc to upload the dial up program. I only use my home computer for very basic tasks, as I am on a company computer all day. I requested a new disc, was told it was in the mail. Never got it.

Requested 2 more times, no luck. Finally, I got on my cellphone with a tech and downloaded the program. Of course, the whole time I'm on the phone with him, he's pushing their DSL service. To shut him up, I politely said he could send me information about DSL. A few days later, the DSL kit came in the mail, and I was charged 20.95 through my checking account. I reported it, and got a label to send the kit back. I kept track of the package and as soon as I saw it had been returned, I called to make sure they cleared that charge. They did.

Now, on Aug 11, they charged my account 160.90 for early termination of my non-existent DSL service. I didn't see this charge until today, so immediately I got my bank involved and they know the situation and have put the money back in until PPC does. I was on hold for over an hour today with PPC, Aug.15 until I finally got someone claiming to be a supervisor and supposedly he took care of the charge. Of course, I will keep a close watch on my checking account. I would change my Dial up service to another ISP in a minute, if it wasn't such a pain. I still may. PPC failed to come through 100% with every call, so I'm skeptical nothing else will go wrong.

Serious chance of bank account becoming overdrawn, time spent dealing with the idiots on the phone was hours when you add it all up. Now, I am very nervous to use them and certainly have changed my opinion of them and will bail out of my service when I can.

They charged my debit card account. I didn't authorize charge.I didn't even finish the installation. But they still chareged my bank account. I contacted them a number of times.I get the run around. They say they don't have my credit card on file,Iemailed them my statement and I still get no response. They tell me to arrange a 3 way call with bank.My bank says they can't refund my money with a call. They need a fax saying no account on file. They say they don't do that.

I wasn't able to pay my rent, and recieved a 3 day notice.I borrowed as much as I could.I payed my rent finally.Thank God but have late charges.
