what can i say that has not already been stated many times over. poor service difficulty in getting on line. richly accented techs to deal with in attempting to get problems resolved. adn finally an almost imposible process to fight thru to cancell.[which i fervently has been successfully accomplished.] i would not encourage and would strongly discourage anyone from contacting this organisation. talk about a bad, bad experiance.

fortunately i hope all i can claim is, a very great deal of stress, iritation and frustration...

I cancelled my PeoplePC account by phone in May, 2008. They said, We're going to five you two free months. I said, I don't want it, but if you want to give me two three months, it's up to you. I did not use the service.

Today, I was called by a company rep (could not understand her name because of her bad English) who said that by accepting the two free months, I continued the account, and I did not call them to cancel, so I owe for two months. Fortunately, my credit card account was changed in the meantime so that they were unable to charge my card. They are threatening to send me to collections bgecause I will not pay the fraudalent charge. Every time I call PeoplePC customer service, I get a message saying in effect, that they have a large call volume, and I should call back later.

At the moment, I have had no damages. If they send me to collections (for the less than 20 charge, my reputation may be damaged. I do not intend to pay the charge, so this may happen. I will dispute the charge.

My Husband and I were browsing for a new and cheaper internet service, since we couldnt afford the one we had any more. We saw an AD for PeoplePC and decided to give it a chance and sign up for it. We specifically signed up for the FREE trial and the monthly payments of 5.00 and some cents for the first 3 months and then 10.00 and some cents. We signed up. The next morning, my husband and I were going to the mall. We ran by the ATM and checked our balance before getting some money out for the mall. We didnt have much money left. We went inside the lobby to see why our account could be so low.

We found out that on a printout of the charges made on our account PeoplePC ---- 119.00 the yearly charge. Made us -95.00 in the bank. Well, we called them - counldnt get ahold of anyone on the billing number. So I called tech support and was transferred to the billing department. I talked with someone, and they told us theyd give us a refund. It would take ten days.

A week after, my husband was depositing a check in the bank and found out heh they gave us our money back....but then took the money back out of our account. There goes his check we used to get our account up. We had to tell the bank to block payments that PeoplePC were charging it. And because of peoplepcs stupid charge to our account, the bank has to pay us back the 119.00. I think PeoplePC should give us our refund. We canceled our account the same day we asked for the refund.

We are currently down to -144.00 in the bank. It's going to take us a while to build our account back up. From now on, we will remain with our current ISP.

I still had money withdrawn from my bank account from People PC three months after I had terminated my services with them. When I called them they informed me that, when I set up termination, I authorized a free one month promotional deal with them, and therefore my account was not terminated. Why would I continue services if I am moving away and not sure if I will even have dial-up again?

I moved away and did not notice I was getting billed untill now. They had withdrawn without my knowedge 47.85. They say they will refund it, but is my account actually going to be terminated? I will have to find out when I get my bank statement.
