I maintained the one-year contract with ONE Touch. In wanting to discontinue the service, I was informed that I would be charged up to $200 for cancelling the service, $100 for the DSL service, and $100 for the phone service. This was because I was not giving them a 90-day advance notice, even though I held the terms of the 1-year contract. A Verizon representative informed me that it's maybe a scare tactic or possibly an FCC violation. Anyone else had a similar experience with them?
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I worked at One Touch Communication for many years. We have several call centers that promote the telecom services we offer as does every other telecom company. Unlike these other companies, we do not outsource our calls to a third world country. When we call businesses, we have specific script which we are to follow. There are no variations of the opening script and if a representative is found to be misrepping, they are fined hundred of dollars if not fired immediately. There calls are monitored daily.
When we call a business, we state we are calling to speak to the person in charge of the telephone account for the business. Nine times out of ten, the gatekeeper doesn't listen - they auto think we are calling from whatever carrier the business has. However, when we get the contact on the phone, they are informed five times during the conversation that our company's name is One Touch Communications. Switching telephone providers can only be done by the account holder and is recorded for their protection, as well as ours. They answer voluntarily at the end of the sales information they are given.
We don't promote the DSL. We are newly offering this and there's an 8-14 day downtime for the service which the call centers don't promote. However, when the customer is contacted by corporate a few days after the sale, if they ask we do tell them but they are also told of the issue with downtime. Again, the call center representatives don't promote it and unless they ask, we do not promote it through corporate either for this reason. Any carrier you leave, there's going to be closeout bill, possibly a credit or you may owe depending of course on your specific billing cycle and what you have. We also absorb the fees if any if you are in a term agreement with the carrier under 36 months which some people are billed for by their carrier even though we've absorbed the fees ourselves. They want your money and they figure that most business owners are too busy and won't catch the error and will just have their AP/AR Department pay it.
Now, if you are on Verizon, it is their network and they own it but they were forced to deregulate in order to not monopolize/extort the network in order to allow consumers to have a chance to competitive price comparison just like anywhere else. Verizon is always raising their rates especially if you have FiOS/Fiber network, those that now have it, and no longer have their promo rate. With FiOS, Verizon cut your copper lines - meaning if you don't like FiOS, you and only you have to pay to have them re-installed to go back to regular phone lines.
All I'm saying is, make sure the information you post is true and you have the correct information. As a business owner, expect to get called by Verizon and just had another rate hike. There are companies out there just as good and a lot cheaper whether its OTC or one of the other hundred out there. Take the time to listen, you could save thousands of dollars and you never know one day I might call.

I transferred my service from Verizon to One Touch. I agreed to unlimited calling and DSL for my home telephone line, and I also switched a business line for my home office. I agreed to a rate of $17.95 for the business line, with a charge for each local call. To my surprise, my first bill for the business line was for $175.
It took me several days to actually speak to a person at the One Touch customer service number. When I did, they informed me that my DSL was on my business line, and they were charging me a significantly higher rate than the residential rate I signed up for and agreed to. After several phone calls, I agreed to make a partial payment of $150 while One Touch corrected their error and moved the DSL to my residential line.
To my surprise, One Touch sent me service suspension notice the next week. When I called to find out the reason, the representative informed me that they were suspending service because I had not paid the full bill. I referred the representative back to our earlier conversation, where I agreed to make a partial payment while they corrected their original service mistake.
The following Monday, my DSL service was disconnected. When I contacted One Touch, the representative informed me that Verizon no longer offered DSL service at my location, so they would be unable to deliver the DSL on the phone line where I had originally ordered it. I contacted Verizon, and was able to order DSL delivered on my residential line by transferring my service back to Verizon.
One Touch then billed me $100 for an early termination fee for each of my phone numbers, as well as a $175 early termination fee for their disconnecting my DSL. Save yourself a major headache. Do not even think about ordering service from this company. What a nightmare!

A representative (a woman) who turn out to be from One Touch called promising a lower rate on my monthly phone bill. She claimed she was calling on behalf of Verizon who was required to offer their customers this lower rate at $19 a month after the FCC fined them for overcharging their customers. As a result, Verizon had to offer their customers this new low rate. I almost fell for it until she said I would be getting my bill from One touch. Obviously, I questioned how this would affect the billing of my other services that I currently have with Verizon.
Once she realized I had reservations and was going to contact Verizon, the call abruptly ended and all I heard was a busy signal which made me realized they were just trying to trick/scam me into changing my service. I assumed she would have used my phone conversation with them to validate the switch of my service. I immediately contacted Verizon an added a security measure to my service preventing anyone changing my service without my knowledge.
So the moral is consumers must be aware of this company who is willing to do anything to rip you off. PS. I made all my friends aware of this scam.

June 2, 2010, the phone rang, it was Brandi at one touch communications offering me a cheaper telephone rate. I declined then she put another fellow on. I think his name was Lawrence and on to the Supervisor Jason ** who convinced me that my cost for my two telephones would be $52.90 + tax or about $65. I was paying AT&T over $100 each month for my home phone ** and my computer phone **. Jason assured me that I would get a trial period of 30 days and if not satisfied, I would be put back to AT&T like my service was before. 6/22 was taken off the AT&T service and put onto one touch I thought.
6/27 got a phone bill from one touch for $117.01 showing usage for 8512 my home phone of .73 cents and for my computer phone 8664 which only calls through my ISP Siteone.net 1-800-284-0002 usage of $31.146/28. Called Jason ** personal line, he said 1-888-752-3822 ext 0034 three times and of course could not get through. So called the number on the bill (above) and got a foreign speaking man who told me there was no guarantee to change me back to AT&T and no 30 day trial. The only way they could change me back was to change my number that I had since 1986. After I told him the law was that I could keep my number I hung up. Called AT&T 1-877-491-0003 and got Alisha who was very nice but informed me they could not change back from that company. I would need to go to Verizon, or a known company. Called Verizon 1-800=837-4966 where I got a Mrs. Mann who took my order for both phones to be connected right away.
6/29 8 AM got call the phones were changed from Spectrocell to Verizon. Called Doria at 1 touch to get a final bill, she said she would get back to me. 8/10 Doria called final bill $155+change. I think I have been scammed. There is no way a 6 day connection should cost $155. 8/10, I turned 73 and am on fixed income with a small retail business to help make ends meet. I am very upset.
