Nationwide Cancels 39,000 More Homeowner Policies

Stefanie of Philadelphia PA (04/27/08)
I am concerned that although Nationwide did honor my claim that my truck was not set on fire. I was told that it was set aflame when the engine had been shut off all evening. The whole front end of the truck was damaged with only smoke damage to the rest of the vehicle. It caught 2 other cars on fire and damaged several others. No one would do this to me and the insurance company, although doing it's job says it was arson. I never spoke with anyone at Yukon or GMC and I never recieved recall information unless I looked it up myself.

My truck was paid off to upwards of 12,000. Yet I refuse to believe it was arson.

my problem with nation wide is that back in 2003 i was with them my monthly payment used to be 120 dollars some like that.. so one day i got a speeding ticket in ct ...six month later they find out from one month to the other they raised my insurance to about 850.00 ..when i asked the why this was happening they said oh we have to add everybody that live in my household with driver licence because i got a ticket and thats it ..i didnt have the money and i didnt think it was ritgh so i cancelled with them and got another insurance ....so now i owe them about 1300 dollar interest charge and who knows what else...but they didnt put that in my credit report until last year 4 years later..and everytime i tried to contac them they do nothing for me they dont call me back ..

icant never get back to the same person i talked to before..they give me the run around at the end nothing is being fixed .. they at the time knew it was me who got the speeding ticket and it was in my car so why they had to do that ..oh by the way they mention that they could do that because it supposedly was in my contract i asked them for a copy of that .. they wouldnt sent it to me...

this being a being very stressfull situation where it have affecting me in my credit report greatly i worked very hard to payoff all my debt before thisone cameout last year and rigth before i went to buy i car that pops uot in my credit report for the first time now thanks to that im paying higher rate int

Jesse of Bancroft, WV December 26, 2007

Jesse of Bancroft WV (12/26/07)
I was in auto accident on Jan 2007. The other driver had no insurance. So Nationwide Insurance has yet to pay the uninsured motorist portion to me. They even tried to hire a re-constructionist to blame me. The accident was ruled no fault due to weather. It took the Deputies 6 months to issue him a ticket for no insurance. And everyone states he was drinking. So Nationwide has yet to pull his BAC , as well as the police haven't requested it yet, either.

I am till waiting on his BAC to be pulled from the hospital. This will go a long ways in resolving this.

We had a rear-end wreck that totaled our car. They were rude and unwilling to look at our comps. The comp they gave us had been sold nearly a year ago. We were unable to escalate the claim , as Heather's boss was on vacation for two weeks, and the agent covering for him was out for two days. They had poor customer service. I will Never consider that Nationwide is on your side.

Kirk of Chula Vista, CA March 10, 2007

Kirk of Chula Vista CA (03/10/07)

I recently had my vehicle stolen in a parking lot while I was at work. Nationwide Insurance Company procrastinated in handling my claim. The vehicle was found by the police and it still took 30 days to have my vehicle fixed. After picking up my vehicle when I was called, I noticed quite a bit of things that were not fixed that were in the estimate and some things that I had specified I wanted looked at that were not either. After taking my vehicle back for a second time, it is still not acceptable to me in regards to the safety and quality of the work, and yet the Nationwide insists that they have done everything they can do.
