I believe due to the latest lawsuit which cost Kaiser Permanente millions of dollars due to fraudulent conducting unnecessary tests. Is why they doubled their copays for procedures needed.. Compared to Humana and other senior plans. Been with Kaiser for 8 years. And definitely will be changing

I would give a no star for Kaiser, the abuse we have been thru, I left, in fear of drs, now 3 surgeries saved my life on another plan. I was dying. They laughed at me, zubcof, screaming, and 16 years of torture I thought was normal. They will never be in my life, where I am at now, is fast, caring, a blessing. Drs are doing 1 by 1. Let's say I need colonoscopy, no wait for next month, it goes on and on. They will get their money back that they owed in billions of dollars, watch out. Poor staff is pushed to pull people in and out fast.

I write this review within the context of the American healthcare system, which is a mess. I always try to keep that in mind when discussing healthcare providers. I came over to KP from the Provident system, which I found exacerbating and expensive. And that’s about the nicest thing I can say. The Kaiser system is not too hard to navigate and communication with providers works pretty well. It’s sort of one-stop shopping and that works for me, but wait times for appointments can be ridiculous. However, once you get through to the actual healthcare, you’ll find that the people are exceptional. From primary care to urgent care and the specialists, even the admin people, I always leave my interactions feeling like these people were talking to ME, not just the next guy on the list. They listen and respond like they actually care. I feel that they lay out the situation and the options in a professional manner, but one that a layperson can understand.

I’ve never felt pressured into a procedure, something I experienced at Provident. After appointments or procedures, you get a summary and the caregivers’ notes, a feature I really appreciate. To sum up, the overall health system is badly in need of reform, but KP does better than most in delivering. The wait times for appointments is frustrating but neither better nor worse than other providers. But really, it’s the people of Kaiser Permanente that make it exceptional. They are why you go there.

After too many exams lab test etc through 5 years... Finally Kaiser will give me treatment but still denied the problem is the kidney, will be on April after Easter week, 2026.

On Easter day (Sunday) I was feeling so sick I when to ER and I told the doctor than it was my kidney than give me a lot health and he can give me something for nausea and dizziness....my BP was 170/89. I told him than he can check in my Kaiser chard/app to check all the test lately my doctor did and the recently on February 15, 2026, "Chest CT scan, Stomach CT, lab test, X rays, hearth monitor as well heart test", and you will see than the only problem I have is my kidney, you don't need to do any test, he didn't care he ordered the same exams, I advised him that he will not find anything wrong only my kidney but he said everything can change .... Funny 🤣 after a while he back to me said the good news you didn't have cancer or anything bad...*really? Doctors on Kaiser steal your money is an organization than you are the money machine....so don't let them to take your money 🤑 he didn't recommend or prescribe me nothing .... Such a ladron!

On 18 March 2026 at 7:58 a.m. and 7:59 a.m., I sent secure messages to two of my treating physicians—Dr. **, and Dr. **—requesting updated Verification of Treatment (VOT) letters in support of my Reasonable Accommodation recertification. This was not a new request; both physicians have provided these documents for me in the past.

Dr. ** returned his completed and signed VOT the same morning at 8:34 a.m. However, I am still awaiting the completed VOT from Dr. **. I followed up again on 20 March at 9:27 a.m., and Dr. ** responded at 4:37 p.m., stating that he had forwarded the request to Medical Records and would review and sign once processed. I thanked him and noted that the process appeared inconsistent, as Dr. ** had completed his form within the hour.

On 23 March at 4:36 p.m., I received a KP.org message from “Your Healthcare Team” indicating that HIMS had received my request but required additional information. They asked me to complete a Patient Information Sheet and resubmit all documents. On 24 March at 7:04 a.m., I sent the VOT, Patient Information Sheet, and Kaiser Medical Release Form back to Dr. **. By this point, I had already begun calling Membership Services, HIMS, and multiple departments seeking assistance. Several representatives informed me that the physician could sign the VOT directly, but Dr. ** continued to route the request to HIMS.

On 25 March at 1:13 p.m., I received another message from “Your Healthcare Team” confirming receipt of my request. At 1:31 p.m., I again messaged Dr. ** requesting his signature on the attached VOT. He did not respond and has not responded since. As of today, I still do not have a signed document from him, despite multiple attempts on 18, 20, 23, 24, and 25 March. Throughout this process, I spoke with numerous Kaiser representatives, including Jasmine (Membership Services) on 24 March at 7:38 a.m., Charles on 30 March, Ms. ** on 31 March at 7:16 a.m., Merna on 31 March at 7:36 a.m., and Mr. ** on 31 March at 8:03 a.m. I also spoke with a supervisor, Mr. **, who involved a nurse and stated that the request had been forwarded to Dr. **, the covering physician during Dr. **'s leave.

I was told she would sign the VOT, but that did not occur. Follow‑up calls to Mr. ** went to voicemail, and he has not returned my message. On 1 April 2026, I went in person to the Kaiser Medical Records department. The staff member informed me that Dr. ** declined to sign the VOT and that I would need to wait until Dr. ** returns on 15 April. This experience has caused significant stress and anxiety. As a federal employee with the Department of Defense, timely completion of this documentation is essential. Instead of receiving support, I encountered repeated delays, miscommunication, and lack of follow‑through. This location already holds a D‑ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and based on my experience, I understand why. Kaiser has failed to provide the level of care and responsiveness expected, and Dr. **'s handling of this matter has created unnecessary hardship.

Everything was within KP so how there is a disconnect as to the facts of the matter blows my mind.

I have literally switched my primary care provider at Kaiser 3 times and each time a "thug" shows up and tries to bully me into their "program" of taking cheap, generic medications sources from overseas. They treat you as if you are uneducated and have low brain capacity... literally every Kaiser Dr. assumes patients are stupid. Just because I didn't go to medical school doesn't mean I have a low IQ or I'm a stupid individual. They are patronizing and end up extremely angry if you try to challenge them or advocate for yourself. At the 15 minute mark, they say "sorry your time is up" and they leave you high and dry. You're just a number at Kaiser, not a patient!

Kaiser Permanente is a BUSINESS MODEL, they are in BUSINESS of providing cheap, generic and low quality pharmaceuticals from mostly overseas!!! Kaiser is not trying to heal you, they are trying to patch you up and make themselves rich by doing so. Stop playing with your health and go find yourselves a real Doctor, not a business trying to steal your health and money!

They take your money and then refuse service. You'll pretty much never see the same doctor twice because the turn over is so high. The doctors can't take how they limit patient care. It takes a year to schedule anything of importance, colonoscopy, spine injection, eye exam (and 3-4 months for the glasses post exam). They are horrid. They DENY coverage if they have a strike ongoing. I guess it looks better on their medicare stats to say the prescription wasn't medically necessary than to say we are collecting your money--but closed due to a strike. THE WORST. THEY ARE THE WORST. And don't bother w their grievance system. It's just them approving themselves. Just call Medicare to file your complaints. They have a special desk and try to keep Medicare happy. It's the ONLY thing that works.

I switched to Blue Cross and the doctor at UCLA, Dr. **, got me in right away for a replacement, saying it was urgent. I complained to Kaiser and the chief of orthopedics was obviously angry.

When I went back to Kaiser, I broke my elbow in several places and Dr. ** put in a metal plate and 23 screws. At 6 weeks, still in a splint, as the physician assistant, Jorge, took out the stitches, he said, “you don’t need to come back. There is nothing more we can do for you.” No physical therapy was offered. I am back at Blue cross, where I had the plate and screws removed and there is still an extra bone out of place. I have many other negative stores from Lancaster Kaiser, but this was the worst.

I had Kaiser for 5 yrs. 2 births, children’s surgeries, emergency visits. All fine, low bar quality. I did like the ability to call one number for all appointments and the app for all communications/records. I realized that their care silos were a risk to my health as opposed to benefiting in two occasions-urgent care(within a day or two care) was an all day wait in a room with people suffering all sorts of gross and scary illnesses. Then the second incident was an odd bump that ruptured under my skin on my skull, very painful. It took 6 weeks to finally get to dermatology, w/ 4 visits prior just getting shuffled around with misleading care (actually making it worse).

The rupture ended up expelling itself from my skin, painful. And once the derm saw it, he said I would have to then get shuffled to a surgery group to continue getting care. That’s when I knew getting care and support for something similar in the future would be like pulling teeth. Many doctors I experienced were restricted w/ procedural process. I truly believe you should avoid this company at all cost.

I’ve been a member of Kaiser Permanente for over 20 years. I’ve had amazing doctors nurse practitioners, nurses.. I’ve also had the absolute opposite. Unfortunately, it’s a rotating door for doctors. You’re lucky if you can have it family practitioner for three year period. Whether you’re in Denver Lone Tree or Pueblo Colorado.. you also need to understand Kaiser Permanente does surgeries teaching hospitals. Schedule surgeries like back surgery specially surgeries your surgeon will be there unfortunately any trauma or giving birth will be oversee or can be oversee with interns with a doctor teacher overseeing in the corner of the hospital room.

Kaiser Permanente attracts three different types of doctors and nurses. The really good doctors and nurses who want to have a life. I don’t have to worry about being sued on their own practices. The doctors and nurses who care about their patients and have families who like the flexibility. And then you have the ducks doctors and nurse nurses and nurse practitioners who just want to get through the day and get a paycheck on Friday and then you have the educators you cannot be doctors anymore due to health issues, medical malpractice, age, etc., or a bedside manner.. Don’t forget when you’re in that hospital room you have rights you can put the do not disturb on that door especially mothers that just had a child don’t be treated like a cadaver by the doctor is not even your doctor and his interns. I’ll never get my experience and that was in 2003 and I’m still traumatized.

My actual experience with the Doctors and medical staff at the local Kaiser location near me has been excellent. My experience with Kaiser Permanente as a company has not been great. Since the very high health insurance premium increases of 2026, they have since made their cancellation page unavailable, so your only option is to call their billing services line, and good luck with that. I've been on hold for roughly 4 total hours over the course of a full week (not including holiday days, as they are closed) and have not spoken to someone. I was even prompted to hold my place in line at one point to receive a call back within an hour, that was 2 and a half hours ago, with no record of my spot in line when I call now.

So I joined Kaiser in 2022 thinking that it was a great HMO and did. I discover something completely different. Their doctors are so overcrowded they quit taking patients. It took me a month to get a doctor that I could actually call my own primary physician. Shortly after I found him he retired. I asked him why he told me that Kaiser was putting more patience on him than he could handle so he retired. Could not find another physician for a little while 'cause all the doctors in my area were full. I contacted member services. They could not help me either in my area. There was no doctors for me to join with as my primary physician.

I finally found one in Fontana. Same thing happened to the physician in Fontana. Overbooked him over and over again and he left. Never helped me find another doctor. He said it was not his responsibility. It was Kaiser’s. I got with Kaiser again to find another physician, they located me one in Fontana. I live in the Victorville area. I had to drive down the hill to go to the doctor. OK I accepted that. Went down there for my first visit because I have a bad arthritis disease. I take certain medications. He informed me that he would not write my prescriptions for the medicines that I was on. I told him I had been on this medicine for years. It helped me a lot. It did not matter to him so I looked at him and I said, "Well you’re not for me and I’m not for you. Thank you. Have a good day."

Went back to member services this time. I asked them if I could call some of the doctors directly to speak with the staff in the office to make sure that this did not happen again. Gas is expensive. Driving to Kaiser is over 50 miles One Direction. They told me, "No that’s impossible. We cannot give you the numbers to the doctor office." I asked them why ever other planned I’ve ever joined. I could call the doctor directly. No they don’t do that. We have to go to member services and they have to email the doctor to ask them questions. I told them again. I would like a doctor in my area. There was no doctors available in my area still by this time, I knew that I had joined the wrong medical plan so I immediately started figuring out how to leave kaiser and go to another insurance which I did and I joined another insurance, which allowed me to call the doctors directly and speak with them.

Kaiser was a nightmare for me because I have an illness that relies on continuous treatment and treating with a doctor. They put me into a position that actually scared me. I’m thinking that I might not find a physician to treat me for my condition. I luckily was able to transfer out of Kaiser in the middle of a non-enrollment. Which thank God the insurance allowed me to do. I had other bad experiences at Kaiser as well. I could go on and on, but I want people to know when they see these commercials on TV about Kaiser Permanente. They are a lie. Kaiser is the worst insurance you can get unless you are healthy. These are the type of people they want to ensure healthy people that do not require going to the doctor for any type of specialty or have to treat with your primary doctor often. Hopefully this helps other people that are making a choice for their insurance. Thank you for reading my review.

I’ve had Kaiser for many years, but in the last two years their services and billing practices have changed significantly, and not for the better. They’ve become very sneaky with how they charge, finding any excuse to add extra fees or even double-charge. During my annual checkup, I asked my doctor about an issue with my knee, and weeks later I received a bill because they now charge per question. Then I went to urgent care, for an issue with my eye, but my BP was high and even though I explained that my high BP just needed a few minutes for my medication to work, they immediately sent me to the emergency room. I ended up sitting there for two hours only to be sent home with a much bigger bill, and no help at all. Overall, this is not a health insurance provider I can recommend based on my recent experiences.

The doctor neglected to issue a refill for my son's medication for 2 1/2 weeks. When he finally got around to it the medication was out of stock. Kaiser would not order the medication and ship it to us. I had to call around to find a source that had it. When a place was found the doctor refused to release the medication and only sent it to a KP pharmacy that closed before I am able to get off work. So now my choice is to jeopardize my job to get to a pharmacy 2 hrs away from work or not give my son his medication.

Here is the kicker, the pharmacy will not fill the medicine until I am there and there the medicine is first come first serve so if I do get permission to leave early to get the medicine there is no guarantees it will still be available when I get there. I have spoken with several KP representatives this past week to get this resolved and no one is willing to help. If you are thinking of using this company run for the hills.

My rash was healed in 3 days.

Sent to Physical Therapy for my hip and they proceeded to work me so hard I was laid up for 5 days and could not move due to back pain, then 30 minutes before my last appointment they cancelled my appointment and didn't offer having another physical therapist see me. The Physical Therapist called me 2 months later to see if I wanted to schedule my last appointment with him so he could close my chart, I told him to close it, I won't be returning. I was so positive about finally having insurance and being able to see a dr it had been over 15 years and I had just turned 65. What a major disappointment. The only positive thing I can actually post at this time is it's convenient having most everything under the same roof.

When I arrived at the Whittier Orchard Urgent Care center, right before their opening time, there was a very long line. I thought I'd be there for hours but the line subsided, and I arrived at the registration/check-in process faster than expected. The registration/check-in process indicated I'd be waiting an hour before being seen for my condition but it took less than 10 minutes to be seen, which was surprising. I was in a doctor's room, waiting to be seen and treated. I was treated for a cyst and was out of the facility in less than an hour--amazing! The doctor and nurses did a great job of handling my issue and being efficient and timely about it. Later that day, a nurse from my local clinic called me to arrange a follow-up visit. Overall, my experience with Kaiser has been great, with no issues, and I really appreciate the fast responses and efficiencies employed.

All I can say is I wouldn’t. They pick and choose who they treat! I was told I had to had sepsis or completely blocked before they’d remove my gallbladder. So almost dead! I had the Kaiser Medicare plan. So don’t do it. They are great if you are rarely sick. But if it gets costly for them you are doomed! I had them for 40 years and they’ve gone way down hill! I left at open enrollment. They misdiagnosed my daughter and thank god she requested a second opinion. She almost died of an aneurysm above her eye. They had said she had an eye problem. Well not an eye problem! I’d be careful. I don’t know who’s getting out of medical school now or who they hire based on what but it’s not the same as it was!

While Kaiser may sometimes be less expensive, you get what you pay for. You will see a different random doctor each time and will not have access to specialists without a lengthy process of going through PA's and ARNP'S. Scheduling is a nightmare, access is limited and locations are far and few between. Things NEVER smoothly. Appointments rarely run on time, my last 3 have been more than an hour late each. Communication is conflicting, erroneous or nonexistent.

The various provider attitudes are that they are doing you a favor by seeing you. They are too busy and if you aren't dying, you will get the least amount of time they can make you go away. You have to know what to ask for and fight to receive care. They aren't looking out for you. As long as you don't get sick, the care will kind of work. I don't get a choice on which insurance I have for my family and I am going to have to leave a job I love to get regular care where people will actually build a relationship and give me quality care. If you have Kaiser insurance, you are going to have to use Google constantly to get the right care.

Review for Kaiser Permanente. I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at Kaiser Permanente. After finally finding a medication that worked well for me—after trying several others that did not—I was suddenly taken off it without a clear reason. Now, I’m being told I have to try yet another medication, not knowing if it will even work or how it will affect me.

If I’ve already found a treatment that is effective and stable, why change it? This situation makes me feel more like a test subject than a patient whose well-being matters. It’s frustrating and disheartening, especially considering how much we pay for insurance. Patients deserve consistency, respect, and to have their voices heard in their own care.

Today 10/14/2025, my baby had a dental procedure done. My baby is a Kaiser patient since he was born. Today was the first time that we had the worse customer service from an anesthesiologist, his name is Selario, right after my baby came out from a procedure, he spoke to me with a really bad attitude because we didn't had the ventilator adapter, l am not sure what happens during the procedure, but he was in a very bad mood. My baby ventilator got switched few months ago from his supply company, so l didn't know that the adapter wasn't in his vent since my baby does not use oxygen.

Right after that happens, l gave a bottle to my baby and he was so upset, because l supposed to wait for the dentist and he started again been so rude and, l told him "please don't talk to me that way, l don't like you talking to me with an attitude" and he said, "Ok" and continue being rude and said that l was not a professional, that l have to follow direction, l am ok when someone telling me what is not right, but talking to me with an attitude, l will not tolerate that. I will file an aggrievance so no one else goes through the same experience l had today, He needs more training on how to give customer service. I am a Nurse, and l know my baby more than him, l know what is dangerous for my baby. I have 18 yrs experience of customers service. I will never speak that way to my patients or anyone. Thanks Kaiser overall. He just needs customer service training!

I want to give two amazing people from Kaiser Permanente, a full blown JOB WELL DONE. The first person is in the mri dept. in San Leandro, I think her name was MILLIE. I am having problems seeing and she took it upon herself to grab my hand and lead me to the right dept.. Her kindness and expertise was in full evidence and I would have been struggling if not for her. The second person, named Sonia **, went out of her way when I finished my mri to take me to lab, she informed the people she was working with that she was going to walk me to the lab. I told her, I probably could make it myself, but she insisted on taking me. She went way beyond the call of duty and I am very grateful for her efforts.

0 stars wasn't an option. There is no congruency between Kaiser and affiliate doctors, and very minimal options outside of Atlanta. I have to travel an hour for something as simple as lab work. Speak to 3 people, get 3 different sets of instructions. It's the worst, most expensive insurance I have ever had.

I WILL NOT STOP filing complaint against Kaiser- this has been the most ridiculous experience of my life- ! I need surgery on my left shoulder. I had to apply for a payment plan to pay past medical bills. I could not get the medications for my shoulder injury through lies and deception. I finally got the medication a month later. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I filed a complaint with Kaiser- and received an apology-only- which is no good or use to me. I had to undergo double x-rays of the same area- as kaiser could not schedule an Emg apt.

I finally got an apt with an orthopedic surgeon who scheduled the surgery with an outside kaiser facility who needs $5000 upfront- I am furious is an understatement- and if you believe I am kidding- now I move this fight to social media and anyone else who will listen- By the time I am finished complaining no one will register with kaiser insurance in the up and coming new physical year registration- Kaiser is the worst experience I have experienced.

Kaiser Permanente failed me on every level — as a patient, a caregiver, and a human being. Despite documented medical necessity and clear NCCN treatment guidelines, they repeatedly denied essential care, delayed authorizations, and ignored urgent referrals. Their actions caused unnecessary suffering and violated my right to timely, appropriate treatment. When I finally obtained proof of their violations, there was still no accountability or transparency. Patients deserve a healthcare system that values life over bureaucracy — Kaiser does not.

I had my same doctor for over 15 years cause I really don't go to the doctor that much, even though I am a senior. But I will tell you when I needed help. She would just gaslight me. I begged to beg and begged for an iron panel to be done because even though I'm a senior and I don't have regular, you know what I still had Low iron ferritin issues, my whole life, and I'm not gonna take an iron supplement being a senior if I don't show Labs showing I need it. So I finally just dumped her and went to another doctor and told him why I dumped her, and he ran some iron labs so when they came back, yep, my iron serum was Low. I'm only saturating 13%, which is ridiculous. But he never even said to take an iron supplement, so he's gaslighting me too. What is going on? I'm ready to jump ship on this guy too!! I wonder how they get five stars that they tell you they got five stars, because I've never had a five-star moment.

I have been a Kaiser patient for over 2 decades and the quality of care steaming from support staff to all departments, Kaiser is systematically failing me as a patient, I tell them what's wrong and they pick the part of what I am saying that's important to them, failing to listen and hear your patients and then work together as the team you pride yourself on, patients wouldn't feel lost, unimportant, or seriously. KAISER, YOU NEED TO BETTER AND STOP APOLOGIZING FOR THINGS YOU HAVE NO INTENTION ON CHANGING. I wouldn't recommend my mortal enemy dying of cancer to come to your establishment.
