My wife and I signed up for Farmers Insurance for our 2 vehicles and our home owners insurance. Our agent (Bob Krummen) requested and received all pertinent information required to write the policy including an accident my wife had in Dec 2007. He quoted a rate and we paid in full. Around August we began receiving additional bills for our auto policies without explanation and when we contact the agent, he wasn't sure why either. we told him we were going to switch companies and he said I don't blame you. We cancelled all of our policies in Nov 2008 and got insurance with another company.

We recently began receiving more bills and today (1/15/09) received an explanation from our agent that it was because our preferred status discount was removed because of my wife's accident in Dec 2007. They had full knowledge of this accident at the time they wrote the ploicy and were dishonest in quoting an amount in order to get our business. I was shopping several companies and the agent knew this and I feel they gave an artificially low quote to get our business.

Today 1/15/09 we received a notice from the agent stating that the reason the policy had gone up was the removal of the preferred discount due to my wifes' accident in Dec 2007. I also received a notice from a company saying the amount had been referred to a collections agency. I feel this has caused damage to our excellent credit rating. It also caused us the inconvenience of changing insurance carriers.

I was laid off at the end of June in the Baltimore Office, we did not receive any severance pay, but the employees that were left in our office received severance pay when they were laid off this week. How can Farmers pick and choose who receives severance pay? It wasn't our fault that we were let go early, Severance pay was suppose to be effective January 1,2009, Farmers was adopting its parent company severance package. I worked for the Zurich organization for 35 years and this feels like a slap in the face, that the ones remaining deserved more than us. Please advise how a company can get away with this?

My son wrecked his truck on dec 17th 2008. On every statement I have, ins is paid a month in advance.. According to my policy, I pay from the 22nd of the month to the 21 of the next month. Like I paid 196.00 on dec 19th which paid me from Dec 22nd to Jan 21st 2009.

They have denied our claim saying it was cancled. yet when we paid nov it was for nov 22nd to dec 21st....please explain this to me.

One when I paid the Ins bill on the 19th of Dec. they took my money which paid me from dec 22nd to jan 21st. yet there saying my ins cancled on the 17th of dec. To me, instead of paying for a month in advance, I am only paying for 3 wks of ins. Not a full 30 days. I have never recived refunds and until now I have never had any issues with farmers. As long as I dont have any accidents from 17th to the 22nd. I am ok, But they are stealing from me, they do not refund the extra week where they cancle. I have paid for 30 days not 3 weeks, Is this legal. My son was in the Marines for 4 years, and drove a 22,000 dollar truck....now its sitting totaled, his first accident and they have denied the claim due to it being in cancelation status...they are stealing my money.

I have switched my insurance company to Geico and I sent a letter to Farmers Insurance of cancelling my account( Month of May). But they kept trying to bill me and the collector agency is attempting to bill me. The collector agency advised me to send them proof of me switching auto insurance during month of May, I called Geico and they sent them proof of me being insured during the month of May. Although documents was sent they still continued calling me.

This could hurt my credit score.

We took them to small claims and WON they appealed and again We won FARMERS LOST!!!!! It has been over a year and and half and we still have not seen any money from Farmers or Farmers attorney's nor the man who rear ended her.

Our credit, my daughter and myself, has been thrashed as no bills have been paid due to this rear end accident.

Car accident Farmers client drove car hit my child on school park lot.

Farmers client drove a car hit two students in high school parking lot from their behind, the students suffered a lot of pain and their family paid out a lot for the car accident. However, Farmer just offers medical bill and general damage. They ignored our family loss and child mental and future loss. Please help me how to file a complaint or sue this company.

1. Medical expense: the medical bill, almost 3000 (Farmer insurance will offer 3000).

2. Pain and suffering: A car hit my child from behind and throw him 1-2 m in the ground in 2006. A bodily injury had occurred (bleeding, School and Policeman asked an emergency Ambulance. The blood pressure is over 140, leg shaking etc). Several days even weeks felt pain on his leg, back, waist and arms. (Farmer Insurance will compensate general damage 2000)

3. Mental anguish: After car accident, my child often fright to walk, go to school, driving car, out of home, noise; Anxiety in learning, studying, sleeping, body pain; Nervousness in the school, learning, tests and quiz; Worry on walking, driving, car, out of home and learning driving; Embarrassment on activity, school ground, contact classmates and communication; Scared of car, individual activity. Did not sleep well, and cant focus on study, hard to learn driving due to nervousness and worry, these might affect work and study in future. There is obviously mental loss and will affect his future for learning, work and life (Farmer Insurance dont compensate this).

4. Medical surveillance: Did X-ray and other in hospital, which might result in harmful effects in future due to the car accident (Farmer do not compensate this).

5. Ride cost: The Car accident resulting in him fright to walk and go to school. Parents have to stop our business and work to drop him off to school and pick him up from school (cost 5/time or 10/day, we try to ask someone to do this, but no-body like to do this with this price, the cost is around 5000 based on 200 school day/per year for 3 years. This loss is over 5000) (Farmer Insurance do not offer a dime for this)

6. Tutor cost: Due to car accident, he cant focus on listen and learning in the school, his grade dropped, Parents have to ask tutors for his school course on Chemistry, Math, and English etc, (a total cost over 5000), but his grade did not recover to original level too (this loss is 5000) (farmer Insurance do not offer any compensation for this).

7. Grade dropping: Due to car accident effect, he fright to learn honor course, he have to select low level and easy courses for him (before selected honor course), but his score still did not improve, some grade are C or GPA drop from 3.5 to 3.0. (lost his future and good college, the loss is over several hundred thousand dollars, we will evaluate the loss due to the accident resulting in, after he finish high school if you agree to set-up the case later), please help me to estimate the loss?(Farmer do not offer any for this)

8. Family Anxiety: Since Dec 2006, I wrote and called to you ask to change representative, but nobody response to this and followed up this claim until April 2008. You dont care about the case and our feeling, and let our family feel anxiety. I try to find if there is discrimination in this case because former representative told me that you just gave a medical compensation and didnt follow up the case although he promised to follow up once for one month, it lets our family always worry about lose the compensation, and scared to bring him to hospital for further check due to worry about you do not approve.(Farmer dont care this)

9. Parents loss: For caring and taking him to hospital, his father took two-three days off, the loss should be 300-500/day, total 800-1000, his mother took more than week off (stop her business), the loss should be 700-1000 based on her business and not including other lose due to car accident resulting in (this loss is around 2000), (Farmer do not compensate any for this)

10. Future loss: In future loss including affecting his work, looking for job, losing good college etc ????( Farmer doesnt care this)

11. Disfigurement: Sacred to learn driving and drive, resulting in hard to find job, or a lot of other lose (Farmer doesnt care this).

12. For physical recovery inspection, Farmer doesnt guarantee to compensate Farmer only like to offer total 5000-5700 for the car accident, they did not consider any family and kid future loss. How I can do this to protect my child. Any suggestions and helps will be appreciate
