Marc of St. Simons Island GA writes (11/05/02):
On 11-4-2002 I called Benefit Plans of America and spoke to Pat, who is the supervisor there. I explained that I wanted to cancel my dental coverage but was concerned that these outstanding claims which amount to $622.00, would not be paid because the insurance company sent me a letter last month indicating that if a policy holder cancels their insurance for any reason, they would not pay for any existing unpaid claims. She also explained to me she did not know when my claims would be paid. I feel I am being forced to pay monthly premiums to keep from losing any chances of these claims being paid. Pat told me she felt that even if I did cancel my policy, the company would probably pay these claims, however, when I asked her to put this in writing, she said she couldn't. Below are the outstanding claims not paid. I have paid my portion, the deductible of $85.10 to my dentist already This amount should be deducted for the total dental charges of $707.10 which leaves a balance owed for 622.00.
