This company sent an elderly gentleman to my home around 7:45 pm. Being the person I am, I invited him in to listen to what he had to say. He was trying to talk me into receiving books for my little one. After I repeatedly told him I wasn't interested, he made it his mission to make me feel as though I was obligated to purchase these books. It was going on 8:45pm and he pulled out this contract and had listed all these books. Unfortunately, we signed. At the time, he did not make us aware nor did the contract state we only had 3 days to cancel. When we started receiving the shipments we asked if we could return them and that's when we were informed of the 3-day return policy. They are continuously calling me and my office, and have also threatened to inform the headquarters of where I am employed.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

We had talked to quite a few different people. When the gentleman was invited into our home we never expected to purchase anything. He made us feel obligated to make such a big purchase of books for our newborn child.
We explained we did not feel it was necessary at this time. Anyhow, we were pushed into signing a contract. When someone did call to confirm they talked with my girlfriend Lisa. She is not on the contract, therefore she should have never confirmed nor approved anything. United Educators should have known to speak with only me.
Anyhow, since Lisa did speak with them I asked that she call and cancel before any books were shipped. She did and she had spoken with Mrs. Taylor first. Mrs. Taylor had said not a problem, she would get this taken care of. Never did she say we could not cancel. Now weeks and months later they are fighting with us and treating us unlike a customer.
I am very disappointed with their service. They are forcing me to accept the books which I do not want. I feel as if we were suckered into such a high cost purchase.Well, we hate to say it but Tyler signed the contract and, we suspect, did not cancel it promptly and/or in writing. He should contact his local consumer agency, which may be able to help, though we're not optimistic.
