We signed a contract with this builder, August 2003. The contact read that the home has no completion date but the builder would use his best effort to complete the home ON or BEFORE 255 days from actual commencement date. 470 days later we still are not in our home and having a time to get Her to complete the home. After such a long time pain has faded, walls and molding need to be repainted. Doors need repairs not to mention Dirt Dobbers and Wasp nest all over the home. We paid extra and put in a paver driveway that saved the builder at that time $6000.00 but she would only give us a credit of $2,000.
After excavating the property they plug up the drainage pipe and water back up all over our new driveway and she did not want to pay for the repair. When the home was up and almost finished she decided to put in the well. She told us she could not put the well in the contracted area because the rig could not get to the back of the house and would we mind it she went to the other side of the house. We said if it speeds up this process and everything is the same go ahead. After weeks not hearing anything we get a certified letter from the State of Florida telling us if we put the well in the new area we would be risking the chance that pesticides from the foundation could seep into our water in 6 months to a year and that if would have to be corrected.
She neglected to tell us this and told us I guess you won't have water. Needless to say she was able to get the well in the contracted area once we threatened with an attorney. This Builder was very nice and so was the salesman until we signed the contact. Once we signed if you asked when are you going to start our home you got nothing more than an arrogant, nasty attitude from these people. I realize the building process is not a happy one always but this is our third home and I have never dealt with any business like this one and hope to never again.
