Lindal was wonderful and my contractor was spectacular. I built the house in 2005 and sold it two years ago. But I love that house. It was beautiful.

I used to live in a log home and we were looking to go that way again, and I looked at those packages. One of our friends down on the lake had a Lindal, and I didn't know it was a Lindal at the time. I just fell in love with the house. Then one of my neighbors built one, and it made more sense. My wife wanted sheet rock, so the log cabin was out of the question. So, we fell in love with it. Everything was good. I had a really good contractor. The guy that was selling the Lindal package was phenomenal. He was great to work with. He helped me do everything. He was there at every delivery. He helped unload it, and made sure the product was there. He helped find the contractor to build this home. He made sure it was done right. I didn't have to worry about much.

We contacted Elroy, a friend’s builder, and we had him build our home. He was a general contractor. It was 10 years ago and we still enjoy the house a lot. But the woodwork is soft and will mar easily. Lindal does their own windows or has somebody custom do them. The screens are poor on our house and they’re never very good. It’d be nice if the screens were better.

We spent a bit of time looking at our home kit trying to decide which one to buy. And we kept changing our mind. Finally, my friend said, "Why don't you just design your own?" I looked at him and said, "How much does that cost?" And he said, "1% of the material costs." I got mad at Lindal Cedar Homes for not telling me that three weeks earlier. We did that. The shipment started within a few weeks later and it came on five containers. It was impressive.

We contacted Lindal Cedar Homes and asked them. I told them we were interested in purchasing a Lindal, and they came out with a catalog. They showed us what was available and what we can do, and they helped us design the place, and that was it. We liked the looks of the home. They delivered it and we had it built. Without the guy that helped us, we couldn't have made it. He was super-duper. He helped us with the design online. We designed it, he looked at it, we sent it back and forth, and it was all good. He still comes out and helps sometimes if we have a problem and we need a repair. And we have their tag on the front door saying, "Lindal Cedar Homes, especially designed for and our name." People would come by and wanted to see the house, and we recommended them. The material is very good and everything is fine. It's a great house. We love it.

Working with them was great. The shipment came on time and the guy I dealt with, Elroy, helped out tremendously. He was there every step of the way. The product was great too.
