Title Insurers

Lots of things in the financial and real estate world are somewhat complicated, but the job of the title insurance company is pretty simple. It's supposed to insure that the seller owns the property you're buying and that there are no undisclosed liens or other encumbrances that may come back to bite you later. Simple as that. Usually it works, but not always.

Unfortunately, title insurance fraud has been on the upswing the last few years, so it's important to be sure you're dealing with a reputable firm.
