Nitin of Pune OTHER (11/10/08) I purchased a Whirlpool refrigirator from a well known store Big Bazaar on 26th of october 2008. When I installed it i discovered that its bulb was not working (I don't know the actual problem). Immediatly I informed the store person and they regitered my complain aginst whirlpool after 7 to 8 days. And they gave me Whirlpool Customer Care Number and complain no.
When I ask them to resolve my problem ASAP they told me that there enginere will come to my place on Friday (7th Nov, 2008). But when enginere didn't come then on very next day(i.e Saturday) I again called to he customer care then they promised me that today i.e. saturday enginer will surely come and also they gave me Whirlpool Service Center Number (020 6523 1167) they also mentioned me the enginer name i.e Farooq. I asked Service Center then initially they refused to send any enginere when i insist then they promised me again that they will send one till evening but agin no one was there at my door.
Very next day i.e. Sunday again I called to Whirlpool Customer Care and service Center they both refused to send any enginere on sunday as they said that they didn't provide such service on sundays. again they promised me to send enginere on Monday and till now no one called me. And each time when I called them they tell me that they will call me back but it never happend. I'm not getting what should i do. I want to replace my refrigerator as I paid money In cash and at once.
As each time I have to wait for enginere i was never been on time to office. And daily I was in hope that they will call me so I put my important office appointment pending or delay and skipped some important and long meetings which is making effect on my work and my image on peers and seniors. I have called them so many times that is making my cell phone bills expensive. Karen of Davenport, FL November 7, 2008
Karen of Davenport FL (11/07/08) Bought the Whirlpool Gold Side/Side in July 2003. Since then the ice machine motor has had to be replaced, the water filtration system completly replaced (I keep the filter new so that was not the problem), and the starter has gone twice. What a piece of junk!!

Karen of Spring Valley, OH October 28, 2008
Karen of Spring Valley OH (10/28/08) I bought my whirlpool appliances; washer, dryer, side by side refrigerator, dishwasher, and stove in 1991 when we moved into our home. I have never had a repair on ANY of them. I will buy Whirlpool again when they start to die. The only problem I have had is when we don't use the icemaker for a week or so, the line freezes and I have to use the hair dryer to thaw it out. I realize new appliances now have fancy digital readouts and other ridiculously expensive replacement parts, so maybe the key is to find low tech versions of what you want.
Donna of Abingdon, MD October 23, 2008
Donna of Abingdon MD (10/23/08) I bought a new Whirlpool Gold side by side Refrigerator from Best Buy Store on 2/10/04. On 10/18/08 I smelled a burning smell and later on discovered that the smell was the 4.5 year old refrigerator. All of my food in the freezer had defrosted and food on the fridge side was not cool. I called whirlpool because in my manual it stated that the compressor and sealed parts were covered up to 5 years. Whirlpool referred me to A&E Facoty Service.
I made an appt. for them to come out on 10/22/08 between 1-5. I took off from work early so that I could meet them at my home. At 5:30 I receive a call that he was on his way from York, PA. He arrived at 6:40 certainly not the 1-5 that had been promised. He believed that it was the relay switch that had gone up, so of course this was not under warranty. It cost me 70.00 for him just to show up to the house. He wanted to charge me 44.21 for the part and 224.00 for labor - a grand total of 270.86 with tax.
This is so absurd that 1. the refrigerator would go up in the first place and 2. that he would have the nerve to charge me that kind of money for a 5 minute job.
My other complaint is that when I emailed whirlpool to ask them about all of the food that went bad they are not covering that either. I am very upset with Whirlpool and A&E Factory Service and I want to make a complaint to you about them. Maybe other people should know how they operate before they buy a product from them.
All of the food in my freezer defrosted and had to be eaten in a day or two or thrown away and the stuff in the fridge got warm and had to be thrown away. The fridge is not even 5 years old! Raymon of Lincoln City, OR October 16, 2008
