Caterina of Los Lunas NM (11/22/08)
On 11/6/08, our Whirlpool Gold double over GBD307PDS09 control panel quit, and showed error E2F6. We were told it needed to be replaced. I order it from a appliance part company online and waited. 11/21/08, I called and was told that instead of the 5-6 days to shipping, we were looking at 12/25/08 as the estimated ship date as the part was on back order.

I cancelled that order and started calling around. Whirlpool, Sears, and 2 other nationwide parts supply warehouses all told me the same thing and all commented on how there were 'many of them on backorder'. This tells me that there's a number of people experiencing the same part failure.

I call Whirlpool back and inquire if there's been a recall. No. No intentions of a recall, the agent claimed only the government issued recalls. This is simply not true. A manufacturer can voluntarily recall an item if the part or product proves defective. After much discussion, the young man at Whirlpool basically stonewalled and would not give me any further numbers.

I began googling, and found a variety of complaints with about the same issue - control panel. One person even had a Whirlpool rep slip up and tell them that (in September of this year) there was a major problem with the control panel parts and they weren't going to rebuild them until the problem had been addressed. That poor soul has been w/o an oven since September!! After reading all the other problems with the control panels and such from this site, I'm becoming convinced that Whirlpool and other manufacturers are 1) having serious quality issues with the reported single parts manufacturer that supplies all of them. 2) won't stand behind their product.

I am out my oven for Thanksgiving, Daughter's wedding rehersal dinner at my home, have to bake my daughter's wedding cake, and Christmas baking/dinner. This oven is 2700 new.

I purchased a number of appliances for a new home in December of 2007. Most of these were Whirlpool including a built in convection oven. I cook a lot so the oven is an important and well used appliance in my household. The first time I cleaned it it quit. I had it repaired. This has happened four times. Each time I have been without an oven for sometimes as much as three weeks. No one seems to care at Whirlpool The place I bought it from can't seem to get a response.

Once again I am without an oven during the beginning of the holiday season and the birthday dinner tomorrow night will be without an oven. It is one of the most frustrating experiences of my consumer life. I have a lemon of an oven and no extra money to buy a new one. They need to replace this oven. I want to cry at the frustration. My friends are going to buy a range in the next few days. I have told them not to purchase Whirlpool and I will make sure everyone in my circle knows how little the company cares about how their products are perceived by the consumer.

I actually use my appliances to cook. There apparentl is no expectation that the appliances will actually work.

In December 2005, we purchased an electric range for 1,200. Around November of 2007(less than 2 years!!) the oven quit working. I called whirlpool and they said it was out of warranty. They offered to give me a 3 month warranty on replacement parts if I had one of their repairmen fix it. I did not have the money, so we went without a stove for a year.

Now I am trying to get it fixed and it is going to cost me 200 for the electronic control panel plus another 200 for a kit that has the touch pad that has also gone out on it. There is no sense in hardworking people to pay 1200 for what we think is a good oven, only to see it fall apart in less than two years. Whirlpool needs to make better products and I feel like I got ripped off and only have juvk to show for it. This really upsets me to read that the same thing has happened to other people with their stoves. It is a shame!

The repairman is still waiting on the part. It looks like I will be paying 400 for parts and I don't know about labor yet.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold slide in Electric Range with the Accubake system as an upgrade to the standard range that came with my new home purchase in 2004 years. Last August/2007 I had to have a service technician come out to evaluate why the oven would not work and he indicated that the touch screen had gone out and that it was no longer under warranty. I had it replaced at a cost of 350. It worked up until August of this year/2008 only to go out again.

I contacted Whirlpool to complain and wondered if, since they sent this service technician to my home initially if they would at least assist in paying the repairman or either the part replacement since this was the second occurence in less than a year on a super expensive oven of which I had to pay the for the first repairs. I recieved nothing but complete indifference from them.

I just wanted everyone to know the consequences of purchasing an middle-upper scale range from Whirlpool. Never again will they recieve my hard earned cash for any appliance they sell.

I had always gave them high regards to customer satisfaction and reliability ratings. I follow Consumer Reports and thought for sure they would recommend only the better manufacters out there. They seem to have gotten this one wrong.

I purchased a new set of kitchen appliances. When the stove arrived it was dented on one side and both side front panels were misplaced and crocked. The stove does not work. It starts to head up and then stops showing a warming draw sensor error. The warming draw is not being even turned on but that's what the error says. There is also hot air that is being blown out by the stove causing the room to heat up from the stove. This is the condition the stove arrived at my home as New?????? I have contacted Whirlpool regarding my new stove. I am asking them for a new stove which is what I purchased. I do not believe a stove should be sold as new when it comes dented and damaged and not in working order. Whirlpool (who sells kitchen aide which is what my stove is) wants to repair the stove and fix the side panels. They are offering me 150 in 3 or 4 weeks. I want a new stove. That's what I paid for. Can you help?

I have been without a working stove for 1 1/2 weeks trying to get a new stove. Whirlpool has not returned my phone calls today. Do they have responsiblity other than their warranty service? The stove was never able to warm up to 350? It was to warm to 350 degrees for thirty minutes before I used it for the first time.
