Purchased a new home with Whirlpool Appliances: Whirlpool Accubake Oven has broken down 3 times---temperature gauge replaced, needs to be replaced again and now the bake, broil, and cleaning buttons do not work. This oven is awful. It should not be broken like this. Please if any of you all have problems contact Whirlpool and issue a formal complaint. They just informed me that once enough have accumulated that they will take action. I am just wondering what will happen when one of the ovens causes a fire. They instantly go to 500 degrees with no notice. I have to constantly monitor and pray that it will not increase in temperature.

Burnt up several pans--I refuse to pay for it to be fixed. I just press the up and down temperature button---using it that way. Until I can purchase a decent oven. It will not be a Whirlpool.

Whirlpool finally replaced the electric control panel on my oven at NO CHARGE! When I was last on this website on 12/16/08 their customer department had repeatedly denied that there was a problem with this part (#8302967) even though this part was failing faster than they could build them (there were over 1,000 on back order at that time). Perhaps they finally decided to treat their customers better or perhaps a class action attorney looked at a 400 repair bill times a 1,000 defective parts and decided it could be worth his time. Another possibility is that if you call Whirlpools number enough times and demand to talk to management you finally get to. Thats what worked for me.

We have a 1.5 year old whirlpool gold 30 slide in range model # GY398LXPQ01. The control panel has been on the fritz for most of the time we have owned the oven and it has gone completely unresponsive now. The only suggestions from Whirlpool were to unplug the oven for a few minutes, then plug it back in and see if it works. Well, that didn't work.

Beyond that, all they tell you is to call a local repairsman to fix it because it is past the one year warranty. This seems to be a tremendous problem with this company. I won't recommend their kitchen appliances (specifically those with a control panel touch pad) to anyone. I have to purchase a new stove after only 1.5 years of use with the Whirlpool Gold.

Bought an electric convection oven/range in 2007 when building our house. Moved in the house in August 2008. The oven quit working - showed an error code and lost commnication. Called Whirlpool and was told a panel on the back needed to be replaced. When the local repairman replaced the panel, the oven still did not work and showed the same error code and lost communication. The repairman called Whirlpool and was told to try replacing the display panel and if that didn't correct it, try replacing the touchpad panel.

The first try to fix part was 140 + 65 service. The next try part is going to be 170 + 65 service and that might not be the problem. I don't know how much the third part might cost. When I called Whirlpool to see why an oven that has been used for less than 2 years is going to cost at least 430 to fix they said they were sorry but that was just too bad since the one year warranty was up.

Whirlpool glass top stove purchased 7/23/04 has been repaired eight times. three times the control panel has gone outso the stove does not work. Four times the glass top has severly burnt due to excess heat in the coils. It is obviously a lemon. Whirlpool says get it fixed or buy a new one.We have been retired for six years and do not cook that often
