My wife (Suzanne) ordered an H2O Mop Ultra off Thane USA's TV Promo. When she discovered we couldn't afford that 150 total cost, she called back to cancel the order, but Thane claimed it already shipped, but not to worry because we could return it. A week later, on 9/26/09, FedEx delivered this 3' lightweight box. I refused the delivery so they could resell that item since it was coming back 'unopened'.
I contacted Thane customer service right away about this and they claimed they'd issue a refund once they received it back. However, they'd deduct for the shipping cost from our refund that was originally to be spread out over 3 payments (though there's only 1 light package that showed up). I asked and found the Shipping Cost they were deducting was 43.92 on an approximately 150 purchase!
There's no way that lightweight box cost 43.92 to ship, even with a return. [I see other similar internet complaints of customers getting gouged by their shipping charges!] Surely they can't get away with claiming outrageous shipping penalty costs which they never incurred. They never divulged anything of this shipping cost penalty when taking may my wife's order.
On 9/26/09, I also e-mailed their customer response dept. On 9/26/09, I also e-mailed their customer response dept. who maintains that any refund will have shipping deducted, so this is still ongoing as I await any credit. They billed the first payment of 54.63, but claim they're deducting 43.92 for shipping which is outrageous and my loss. I contend that's not even close to their real shipping cost. Their 100% satisfaction guarantee rings hollow here.
