Tangarie Alternative Power

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

Well, here it is December 2010 and to no surprise, Tangarie Alternative Power has not followed through with its service. As in the last post from 12/09, the Turbine atop the VA Ann Arbor Hospital still is not functional and we have not seen a refund or contact from John *** or his distributor "Bright Idea" Creede ****. After way too many phone calls with no action being accomplished, we have only had excuses from, "It's (parts) being made overseas and the volcano is hindering transportation," to "I'll have it for you next month."

Anyone can stop by the VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor Michigan and see the wonderful Whirly Gig atop the building that doesn't even move. Even if it was used as a decoration that blew in the wind, it would accomplish at least something to look at for a couple hundred thousand dollars. All of you reading this can see that this was all of your money that was ripped off by John ***, since this was a government funded project. You have to go to his website and read the "sorry" story about how the company got its name and the veteran that was memorialized by it. Ripping off a veterans hospital makes it even more of a shame, and a "slap in the face" of the Veteran Private First Class Joseph ***. Don't do business with this firm unless you want to throw away your money.

We purchased a Wind Generation unit from a Distributor named Bright Ideas, as required by the parent company Tangarie Alternative Power LLC. They had the unit designed and painted to our specifications by the parent company ' Tangarie Alternative Power LLC '. The unit was installed and it worked great for a couple of months, then there was a mechanical problem that was serviced by Bright Ideas under warranty, the unit then worked great again, till one day the unit or 'GALE" as they call it, the wind turbine ripped itself apart, and became unusable.

After over 6 months the unit was removed from the 12th floor roof area and was to be rebuilt, repaired or replaced so that we would have a usable wind turbine. Well after over 6 more months of 'stonewalling' and no turbine being re-installed (making this a total of over a year that the unit still isn't working) we get promises etc. but no product replacement.

We have had many, many phone calls, emails etc. but I can only guess that we'll never see the Our Wind Turbine atop the Veterans Hospital in Ann Arbor again.

I researched the other distributors and asked if they also had any problems with Tangarie, and this was a response. "We have had many issues with Tangarie, (John & Debbie B.)

Sorry to hear about your troubles. My guess is Bright Idea Energy Solutions is having multiple issues with Tangarie. There really is nothing I can do to help you; we are no longer selling their units. This is all I am willing to say at this time. Sounds like you are on the right track to get some action or resolution."

The Distributor Bright Ideas has helped us as much as they can, and really want to re-install the unit, but are unable to get it back from Tangarie Alternative Power LLC. Since I work for the Federal Government, and this is a Government institution, this product was paid for by the Public of the United States, and this is who they are "ripping off", especially the men & women Veterans whose hospital this is.
