Sunbeam

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I bought a microwave that had a one year warranty, and after 6 months, it stopped working. The machine sounds like it's working, but it's not doing the job. I called the warranty department, and sent them my receipt, and one year warranty notice from the manual, but received no response from them. Sunbeam is a terrible company for quality.

I purchased a sunbeam queen sized dual control electric blanket 2 weeks ago, and to say I am angry is an understatement! we had to keep unplugging it, to get it to stop blinking, and then 2 days ago, we had a tree fall on the power line, and the control, which wasn't on, just plugged in, caught on fire, and put my bed on fire! It is extremely dangerous, but because I don't have the box, I can't take it back to the store. I am out way more than the $80.00 for the blanket, because I have to replace my expensive headboard. I will never buy another one of these blankets.

Approximately 6 months ago, I purchased a Sunbeam microwave model # SGM4902 and a few days ago, heating something up in it... it started sparking on the side where the cover covers the wiring inside and it caught on fire, burned through the cover on the inside of microwave! It's black, charred, and bowed out where it burnt through to the inside of microwave!

I unplugged the microwave as fast as I could and let the fire burn out. Found out they do not have a recall on the product! How ridiculous! I thought maybe it was a fluke and would be taken cared of by the company but no, not through them or through the store because of how long ago the purchase was!....Do not buy one of these microwaves if you don't want a fire in one! Very dangerous purchase!

I purchased king size electric blanket in Nov. 2011 and on Jan 2, 2012, only one (1) side was working. Sunbeam needs to recall these inferior, poor quality products now. I previously purchased a Sunbeam electric blanket (approximately 20 years ago) which lasted until 2011. This blanket was made in the U.S.A., while this new piece of junk was made in China. Enough said.

What should happen is someone from Sunbeam should look at all of the disgruntled people on this website concerning their products (especially electric blankets). I also purchased a P.O.S. King size electric blanket at Kohl's of Culpeper, VA in mid 2011. Kohl's, unlike some stores I read about, did replace it once. That one was also defective for the same reason, one side heated, the other did not. I am throwing the cords away and using it as a $100 P.O.S. plain blanket. I will never, never, never, never ever buy another Sunbeam product. I recommend that Sunbeam would make a conciencious decision to produce saleable, safe products or dismantle their entire operation.

Correction! A five star outrage! I just attempted to turn the product on! Sunbeam does not answer any calls on the weekend. Their warranty number is unavailable. Their dual control electric blanket product does not even turn on! It just shows FF a million times over! We just took it back to the poor retailer who had the misfortune to sell the stupid thing! They even anticipate this outrageous problem in the instructions and say to call service. But there is none! Calling all consumers, trust Sunbeam never! Their name is mudbeam.

I was given a conventional microwave as a gift and it doesn't heat up. I don't know is where it was purchased but I'd be happy with a working replacement. That's all.

We had 4 electric blankets in 3 years. One side heats and the other doesn't, only feet. Neither side works. You name it. These things are terrible. Sunbeam wanted me to return the 3rd blanket. I did. I returned my blanket with new controls. It lasted 1 spring season. It got out in fall - no heat. Obviously, they are selling bad products. I contacted once again, and again, they wanted the blanket back at my expense. I'm done with them. I went out and purchased a Sealy brand blanket - so far so good.

I also bought the Sunbeam Plush king size electric blanket last year. After about 1 month, only one side worked and even that side didn't heat well. I planned to return it to Walmart or exchange it, but after reading about the fires from these, I hesitate. I had to cancel my insurance because of finances and if my dwelling burned down, I'd be out a place to live.

I had a Walgreens small heating pad manufactured by Sunbeam. It was for my children's growing pains. We had it about 6 months, and it works fine. The other night my children decided to sleep in my son's room, and the heating pad was on the floor, not turned on, not in use. Our smoke alarms started going off, we opened the children's door to find thick smoke billowing out. I grabbed the kids and took them outside. My husband worked hard to get the fire out. I had to claim it through homeowner's insurance, $1000 deductible.

The total cost for all the repairs to my home was tremendous. My son still doesn't have a mattress to sleep on, waiting for replacement money to come back. It has been one hell of a ride for something that we had no control over. All I can say is Thank the lord my kids were not burned, 5 more minutes and that would not have been the case. I have put a claim in with Sunbeam, but I'm sure I won't hear back from them. Just wait, this isn't the end of this. This product and all heating products manufactured by Sunbeam need to be recalled for all our safety!

I bought a Sunbeam heating pad. The automatic shut off feature didn't work. I paid the price. I suffered burns to my arm and shoulder, and it hurt like crazy. I immediately put aloe gel on the burns, and just pray that there will be no scars. I have photos of these. This happened on the afternoon of Saturday, December 10, 2011.

The Sunbeam electric blanket I bought last year didn't work this year, so I exchanged it at Walmart for an identical blanket. That was only a couple of months ago and the new one is a P.O.S.! Walmart will make good on this but, I recommend any other brand than Sunbeam when selecting an electric blanket! Come on. 2 POS in less than 1 year!?

Ditto. I bought a Sunbeam king size dual control electric blanket. Less than 6 months of use, only one side of the blanket heats up. This is the last time I will buy Sunbeam products.

My Sunbeam King size electric blanket was purchased last year. This year, only one side heats up. Quite working on other side. I emailed the company. She said to send the blanket back at my expense. I would have to pay to have it repaired/replaced and shipping back. So I threw it away, and bought a Beauty Rest electric blanket, a great deal on sale at Belks for only $69. It works so good and has quality material.

More than one way to go out of business, Sunbeam. You're on your way.

I received the Sunbeam king size dual control electric blanket in 12/10 for a Christmas gift. She bought it at Wal-Mart, supposedly a five-year warranty. I have the box it came in. Wal-Mart said Sunbeam would have to replace. It was Sunbeam's warranty. Only one side ever worked now. It only works around feet area. Got maybe six weeks heat out of it. Sunbeam seems to care less they got their money. These blankets are expensive and should be backed up with their warranty. What good is the warranty if the retailer that sells the product for them will not honor it? And the company, Sunbeam, will not return any emails regarding them. $89.99 plus tax and they could care less that this blanket didn't work properly and for short time heated at all. They all should be pulled off the market.

We bought a Sunbeam electric blanket in 2009. We had it until Nov. 10, 2011. It had one control. It fits a full size bed. On Nov. 10, 2011, I walked from the kitchen to the living room. I smelled and saw a haze of smoke. I asked my husband where the smoke was coming from. He then saw smoke coming out of the top of our bedroom door. He felt the door to see if it was hot. When he pushed it open, our bed was in flames. My husband had just turned it on 30 minutes before. We lost our home and everything in it because of this Sunbeam electric blanket. Not only did we lose the home we were living in, my husband had been building a home next to the one we were living in. It also caught fire, has smoke, water damage, and part of the attic burned out! It has to be gutted and redone because of this blanket. We do not have the paper work or the warranty. It all burned in the house. Sunbeam should be held responsible for this, but I doubt that will happen. We are both disabled. We must start from scratch again.

I purchased three king-sized electric blankets from Walmart.Com. Only one of the blankets heat up on both sides. The other two have blinking error lights and no matter how I try to resolve it, no resolution has been found. Walmart won't exchange them because I don't have the original boxes and Sunbeam hasn't responded to my requests. These blankets were 100.00 each (with tax and shipping), very expensive and very unreliable.

I got the Sunbean Dual King size electric blanket last year as a gift. I was so excited. It made it thru 1 winter and I just got it out and now it has blinking FF error! I have Googled and sadly read how so many are having problems as I am. So sad that Sunbeam has charged so much for something that doesn't last. Warranty they say? "Yeah right." Try making a better product and then standing by it! I will definitely boycott on all the sites I can. We work hard for our money as the cooperate sit on their butts and take our hard earned cash and give us crap! How do people lay there head down at night!

I purchased a Sunbeam microwave about 4-5 months ago. It was a small model SGB. I didn't keep my receipt as I've never owned a microwave that just died like this one did. It was more than 90 days so the store I bought it from couldn't get me a copy of the receipt. And I was told they couldn't help me without it. I bought it from a SuperTarget so I can't narrow down a transaction as I do all my grocery shopping there. I will never buy a Sunbeam product again.

We have literally bought 6 of these blankets over the last 3 years and only one of them still works. I will never buy another. Three of them didn't last one winter. I got what appeared to be a good deal at Wal-Mart, but it was not! Buyer, Beware!

I got a Sunbeam Dual Control Electric Blanket with a 5-year warranty and now, on its second year, it has stop working. I have followed all the instructions to the letter and has been unsuccessful. Sears will hear from me; this is unacceptable.

i bought a space heater last winter. It worked then but now it won't heat. I'm on a limited income and can't afford to buy another one. What can I do?

I purchased a Sunbeam Iron (Model: 4230 / Series T) less than a year ago. At one time, after turning the iron on, I walked away, and suddenly, a smell of something burning came through the house. When I went back, I saw that the iron was "melting" away. The base came completely away from the top, exposing the inside of the iron with melted wires. This is an automatic turn off. If left unattended, it would have caused a fire.

I got an electric mattress pad at Wal-Mart last year. I put on mattress a few days ago and it won't heat. The indicator only blinks. I've read many other complaints and looks like we all learned our lesson. Don't buy Sunbeam. I will spread the word! Thanks for nothing.

I purchased microwave oven, model SM0701A7E, for my daughter's dorm room in August 2010. She complained that it keep shutting off. I attributed it to the power strip that it was plugged into, so I didn't check it until just a couple of days ago. I tried heating up a pyrex cup of water. The unit shutoff after 4 minutes due to overheating. Now when I say "overheating", I mean the top of the microwave was untouchable because it was so hot. I called Sunbeam to find out if there was any recall on this product. They said I was the first complainant concerning this model. The representative told me to unplug the microwave so it could reset to factory conditions. I didn't think what I was doing "changed" the factory conditions. (setting the timer to 5 minutes and hitting "start")

I told the rep I was more concerned about the "overheating". And then she told me that this was "normal" for this product. When I told her my home microwave didn't do this, she told me I couldn't compare microwaves. I don't have the Target receipt from last year, so I'm unable to return it. I just want to make sure other parents who are going to buy a microwave for their kids' dorm room don't buy this model, because of the potential of causing a fire.

about 6 months ago I purchased a $100 clothes iron from our local Kmart. It was a sunbeam brand. I then noticed that the iron was shorting out every power point in the house and I constantly had to go reset the fuses. I contacted sunbeam and they said " It's not our problem the item is faulty. Take it back to Kmart". I then said " Its a sunbeam product and I want you to help me".

He was very very rude and said " Kmart bought it off us, no longer our problem and we don't have facilities to fix it". So what he is saying is that once the product leaves Sunbeam, it is no longer their problem. So if I buy a Toshiba computer from our Harvery Norman is it not a toshiba issue???????? So what about my money? I don't have a receipt because I bought the item in good faith and threw away the box. What the hell is our country coming to. Customer service is non existent anymore. Once you have paid the money they want nothing more to do with you. They don't even have a place you can send faulty products to repair them. WHAT A JOKE????

I purchased a space saver Sunbeam microwave in March 2009. The microwave turns on by itself and overheats to the point of blacking out, guess its shorting itself out. I, of course unplugged it, called Sunbeam and because I don't have my receipt, they will not help me. They checked for a recall and there isn't one, seems like there should be since its obviously a fire hazard. I will be throwing it away and will never purchase a Sunbeam product again. Beware, saving a few bucks isn't worth risking safety.

I was wiping off the toaster using a dry paper towel. I discovered that the white labels for the different settings and functions were smearing and coming off. I have not memorized which button goes with which function.

Some time during mixing food, the screw at bottom of the mixer beater came off. I have no idea what batch of food this happened to me. What if it was in a batch of cookies or cake that I brought to meetings and church events?

This is the worst mixer I have ever had. Ingredients get thrown outside of the bowl and you have to constantly scrape. I hope I don't get sued if some one breaks a tooth on my food.

I bought a Sunbeam heating blanket and have noting but problems since day one. Since the beginning, it has been heating only in certain spots and it has now stopped heating completely. I am very disappointed in this product! Sunbeam, you are a disappointment!

I bought a Sunbeam em5600 machine. It just went dead after three weeks. Then I went back and got a swap for another and guess what, that was dead too.

It's unbelievable but in this day and age not surprising. I naturally got a refund. Sunbeam need to sort things out.

I was considering getting a KitchenAid mixer but after reading all the complaints, I will probably skip it and keep my old mixer. I have a 29 year old Sunbeam MixMaster. Aside from replacing the beaters (just once and only last year), this mixer has taken everything I have asked it to mix and handled it beautifully. I was planning on buying the new KitchenAid for myself and giving my daughter the MixMaster. I guess I will look for a MixMaster for her, too!

I am an engineer and had purchased this product for my parents. This has been used often over many months without problems until today. I'm told the unit turned itself on and started smoking. It was then immediately unplugged. I opened it and found melted wiring. One of the wiring connections is much too close to the heating element and has, therefore melted, resulted in exposed wiring. This is a major safety problem I must report. I expect you to recall all Sunbeam Hot Shots.

I purchased two Sunbeam warming blankets and returned them both several times within the guarantee period because they weren't heating properly. Whether the blankets were "repaired" or replaced, they still heat minimally. The economic "damage" is that I didn't get blankets with effective guarantees.

I have just repaired the third Sunbeam made Mr. Coffee all with the same problem. This has taken place over about a three year period. I have also read some descriptions of problems with the coffee maker that probably are a result of the same issue: pour water into the receptacle at the top of the machine, only to have the water drain out the bottom all over the counter and floor. This is an FTX43-2, a very popular coffee maker but nevertheless a piece of junk seemingly engineered to fail in short order from a very simple engineering problem. There are two rubber-like hoses in the interior to the coffeemaker. They are connected to metal water inlets or outlets. In no case, is there a ferrule impressed into the metal male inlet/outlet intended to keep the hoses from easily coming off especially if the hose is just barely long enough as in the case I found today.

This is my daughter's coffee maker and she asked me to look at it for her. Well, this is clearly a user fixable thing though in this case I had to add a hose clamp because the hose really was just too short. Well, it would be fixable by anyone with reasonable fixing skills except for one thing. You have to remove the base cover which is secured with 6 screws, no problem you say? Four of the screws are ordinary Philips Head screws, but two, under the two rubber feet in the front that are accessible by prying the rubber feet off.

Well, a very clever profit center at Sunbeam decided to make these two screws (seemingly for no other reason than to throw road blocks in the way of someone aiming to fix this thing themselves) not ordinary Phillips head or even ordinary Torx head screws but they are safety torx head screws. A torx head screw is a relatively new screw head type that is shaped like a six pointed star. They are readily available at most hardware stores but Sunbeam decided they needed to be safe so they use the safety torx. this makes it impossible to insert an ordinary torx driver head into the screw because right in the middle of the six sided depression in the screw head is a steel post/pin that keeps the driver from seating in the screw, rendering you helpless. Now, you have three choices: decide it isn't fixable and throw it away, and buy another one just because you can't push the hose back on and secure it with a hose clamp.

The other solution is to buy a set of safety torx drivers.

Sometimes, they are hard to find because they are used primarily by technicians who have a need or authority to breach safety screws. If you can handle hot water in a coffee machine you should(!) have enough intelligence to know if you are going to open up the coffee maker you should unplug it from the wall first. Water and electricity do not mix happily together. I get so fed up with our capitalist industrialists who turn out such junk they are not interested in producing a fine product, but a product that produces a fine profit at the smallest investment they can make.

I call this cheating and there are way too many of us in the middle class seem to have no problem with this scum class who get all kinds of tax breaks, incentives, and outright favors and still want more profit by sending the production of their half-** products to China to be produced by underpaid workers.

My king-size, dual control electric blanket is being returned for the second time for repair. It heats unevenly or not at all. I purchased it at Sears on October 2008. Last year, it was repaired by the company and it worked for about six months before it malfunctioned. There is no physical damage but only postage required for two returns at approximately $15.

I was pressing a new shirt that I wanted to press the folds out with my iron but the steam shot out of the holes and left white spots. I tried to rinse it off but the spots turned out to be the color removed from the shirt.

Bought a coffee maker for $70 at Walmart, model BVMC-PSTX91. Worked fine for first 3 days. Now leaks from the bottom all over the counter. Can't bring it back to Walmart as I don't have my receipt. Threw it away after I bought and used the coffee maker. Ruined pots of expensive Kona coffee. Now have to go purchase another coffee maker. $150 of damage between coffee and pot.

I purchased 330633 coffee maker on Jan. 2010. On July 1, I went to use it and the water ran out through the bottom. I called Sunbeam service and they suggested to take to Personal Edge which is the closed place for service. They called me later, told me it had to be replaced. It's over 3 weeks, I still don't have my coffee maker. On top of that they want $10.00 even though it's still under warranty!

i bought these pans and they promised to be none stick pans i mean i bought these pan set for 30 dollars plus tax and i have bought other pans that were cheaper than this n were none stck as promis and these promised to be none stick. The first moment i used these pans were to fry an egg and it burned it i boiled macaronny on the pot ans still with water enough water in the pot the macaronny burned... like seriously what type of non stick pan are these?.. everything sticks i cant even cook a decent meal without it getting burnes or completely smelly. everytime i put these pots in the stove it stinks up the whole house like burn and its only been on for a sec like what type of cheap material is this? im so angry these pot makes lied and promis to have none stick pots and they are the complete opposite!

4/6/10, I purchased a Sunbeam Steam Master Iron Model #2233 from Kessler Air Force Base, in Ms. On 4/20/10, after ironing, I pushed the button to re-track the card and it whiplashed, striking me on the ford head. I feel this appliance is hazardous and should be taken off the market before it does serious facial damage to someone.

I have a queen size dual electric blankets made by Sunbeam. I got it as a present. It's been two years and I had good luck with it. But lately, the control now will not turn on nor will the blanket send any heat to the one side and very little to the other side. I would like to keep this one if you could fix it.

Water overflows beyond the filter reservoir. Filter is not causing the problem. Can you help me? We just now started using this item. Model CG13. Sunbeam Product #E205612. Used for the first time.

I bought a new electric blanket the end of Nov. and here it is the end of March and it just sits there and blinks. I am out $80.00. This is a mighty expensive blanket to have to replace every year. Sunbeam used to be a very reliable brand name, what happened to their quality? It's gone down the tubes. Made in China also?

I bought a Cafe series Sunbeam Coffee Machine EM6910 in late April 2007 and approximately early 2009, the thermostat broke and needed to be fixed. The Sunbeam service center that I took it to were unable to get the required part for about three months. I contacted Sunbeam and they said that unfortunately, they were waiting for the parts to come from overseas and sorry there is nothing they can do. Then in Oct 2009, I had only had my coffee machine back for about five months, the thermostat broke again. It is still at the service center waiting for a part. It has been five months. I understand that things need to come from overseas, etc, but five months wait is way too long to be told sorry but there is nothing we can do. I find this is unbelievable.

Bought an electric blanket (king size) at Walmart,, took it home and plugged it in . It would not heat on one side, just blinked on and off. I followed instructions plugged it back into the wall and it was off. Out $79.00 for a new blanket that doesn't heat up.

I bought a Sunbeam electric blanket a year ago and it started blinking away after about 2 months. It was heating up fine, but I noticed that half of it would heat up and the other half wouldn't. Now it doesn't work at all. I waited years to buy these because they are expensive and I got them on sale. My two sons have one as well and I'm not sure about theirs. I can say, however, I am pretty ticked off about mine.

I have purchased 3 electric blankets over the past 2 years, each were a different size, and controls were a little different. Every one has started blinking on the control module within a week to a month, and then they do not work. This is a problem that should be dealt with. They are not cheap! As is shown, many people have the same problem as posted on the internet. This is ridiculous!

I didn't know there were so many unhappy customers out there, until I tried to search online for problems of the Sunbeam electric blanket. I bought the Sunbeam electric blanket in full size, and recently I found it doesn't heat up enough, even though I turned it on high for several hours. I didn't even feel the warmth in my bed. It was working okay when I first used it, and now it quit heating up. I don't know what to do. After reading all the customer complaints, I know there is not much help from Sunbeam (considered that they don't usually replace items with a new one, and the cost of returning the old one for repair may be far more than its original price). I thought Sunbeam was the trusted brand name, but now I am not so sure about it. I am very disappointed! They need to manufacture something that work. Something needs to be done (i.e. product quality/performance assurance), not just deceiving customers/consumers by producing these junk, malfunctioning, and pricey blankets.

Just read the article on "How to complain" and wanted to tell you how my dad got a new toaster from Sunbeam. He had written several letters on how it was burning toast. He didn't get any response and then he saved the burnt toast for a couple months. He then shipped the old toaster in a box in the middle of the burnt toast. A few weeks later, we received a brand spanking new toaster in the mail.

I sent an e-mail to Sunbeam.com and was asked by Kimberly to reply to several questions about my Sunbeam electric blanket. I replied to the questions, but my e-mail was rejected. No reason given for rejection. My electric blanket was not a very good one. I purchased it one year ago from Wal-Mart. I have the receipt, but no address to which to return the product and have the item repaired. I have decided from reading all the comments, and the poor service that I received, to never to purchase a Sunbeam product again.

I purchased the Sunbeam twin size electric blanket (P.N. 121135-008, style 82) from Walmart. It only worked for a few months. Because I did not have the receipt and the original packaging to return it to the manufacturer, there was nothing I else I could do. Although there were no physical damage, I was out the $50 I paid for the merchandise. But my concern is with all the complaints here on this website. Will it take a death or electrical fire to get anyone's attention? Someone needs to address this to Sunbeam!

I seemed to be going through too many Mr. Coffee machines. After 6 months, the latest one slopped water all around it, took forever to brew 3 cups, and failed to drain the reservoir. I took this last one apart, and discovered an almost completely clogged artery. The drip tube hose underneath was full of minerals(? ) from the hard water around here. I cleaned it up, and took care of all the symptoms. Now, I think I will start running vinegar through it every few months. I am not completely happy with the product, but they shouldn't shoulder all the blame.

I bought a Sunbeam king-size blanket from Wal-Mart. This is the second one in 1 1/2 years. Both lasted 3 months, and had the same problem. One side would stop working, and just blink. I will never buy Sunbeam products again! I learned my lesson, but I am not out $200.00 because of these useless blankets.

I bought the Sunbeam Mixmaster. I made cookies, and found that there was a nut in the cookie that came loose from the beater. My brother-in-law bit right into the steel nut. I called Sunbeam, and told them of the faulty problem with the beaters, and they offered to send me a new nut to screw back in. Mixmaster never did scrape the sides, and was extremely hard to lift the head up. Since i didn't get anywhere with the help line, I carried the Sunbeam Mixmaster right back to Wal-Mart, and exchanged it as damaged, for a new Kitchen Aid. Sure, I had to pay extra, but boy is it worth it. The beaters are wonderful (no nuts to hold them together). Someone is going to choke on the loose nuts that hold the beaters together, then they will have a lawsuit instead of a phone call. Buy Kitchen Aid. It is worth the extra payment you are going to make.

I purchased a Sunbeam Electric Blanket at Wal-Mart last year. The blanket does not heat up at all. I was going to complain to Sunbeam, but after reading all the other complaints, it seems that it would be a waste of time. I feel I am just out the cost of the blanket ($85.00) with no options to get a new blanket or recover the cost of the bad one I have. Sunbeam must be making their products in China, though I don't think even a China man would buy these lemons. Shame on Sunbeam.

I bought the twin sunbeam electric blanket for Christmas from a gift card at Walmart. The blanket worked three times and then would not heat and kept blinking. I then checked online and found the problem to be similar. Not a good product!

I purchased 4 twin size heating blankets and I have sent them all in for repair. Sent them in starting October 2008 and the repairs have not stopped. One of the blankets have been repaired twice and now another one they just repaired has quit heating again! The blankets only worked for a month New and now one of them just quit heating up with the cold weather knocking at my door of 5 below ugh. I have spent $38.00 so far in shipping and they are garbage! Never again!

THE COMPLAINT IS ABOUT A QUEENSIZE ELECTRIC BLANKET BOUGHT AT WAL-MART The blanket would only heat one side it cost 13.00 to send to Blanket Service Russell Drive Box 469 in Waynesboro,MS in Oct. 2009 got is back in about a week worked good was same blanket with new controls now again one side won't heat on any setting what do you suggest? [Sunbeam] Paid for a blanket that never worked on both sides paid 13.00 to fix. now its bad on one side again

I also bought a Sunbeam Electric blanket, twin size, for my daughter. I got it last year at Walmart. It was never used on any higher level than 2 and was installed as directed. This week it stopped working and started blinking. Very disappointing!

I purchased a Sunbeam electric blanket, dual controls, Style 84SQ, Listed 613A E23623, RN17280, 18684, P.N. 107882-030, V225W895511 J93012. Once control has ZZ & will not reset. Non-usable blanket. Please replace blanket.

I had bought a sunbeam electric twin blanket for my husband's side of the bed because he is always cold.It lasted 3 weeks and started blinking I had to unplug it I was scare it might cause a fire. I will never again buy another sunbeam product.

ok the electrical portable water sunbeam is to bad really this is the 2nd time we buy because the first time we loose the money because we need the recive! and now same problem the water i dont know were scape because in the floor the water fall o my good ! im tired about this, but i like the portable water electric for hot &cold water, i need help what i do the prices is around of 100.00dlls im not paid 10.00 . sunbeam has a manufacture problems!

Bought 2 blanket on black Friday use on for about 1 1/2 weeks blink blink, took that one back to Walmart started using the other one this morning, Dec 11, 2009, woke up cold. Blink blink. What happened, Sunbeam use to be the best.

2008 Sunbeam Products, Inc. doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions, Boca Raton, FL 33431. This is not funny, on the front of the package it says "Turn Down You Thermostat Save up to $131 on your winter heating bills!" Sure you can do that and freeze as long as you try using Sunbeams Electric Blankets, because they either don't heat enough or don't work at all!

My mother-in-law 88 years old and myself both got the Sunbeam electrical blankets at Walmart Store last fall and both of us had little use of them before they were no longer working or working very little. My mother-in-laws got a little warm on on lower half only near plug in on 2 of her blankets. She said, "I have to put the thermostat on HIGH for it to barely get warm."

My blanket quit working when the high/med/low setting light wouldn't stop blinking and the blanket stopped working completely after that. I quit using it for fear that there may be an electrical short or something. I set my mother-in-laws up for her knowing she was unable to do it herself! We both purchased one blanket each at Walmart Store in 2008 and in 2007 one at Big Lots. I opened it plugged it in and placed in correctly as it says on package!

One has 5 year warranty its maroon in color, single control, full size and was made in 2008 $131.00. The 2nd one from Walmart Store has 5 year warranty is blue in color, dual control and was made in 2008 is queen $118.00. The 3rd is Blue also but bought at Big Lots single control, full size and was made in 2007 and I threw it out. So this tells me it doesn't matter if you purchase dual controls or single control, neither are working! Also we have never washed them in washer or dried them in dryer, so this can't be the cause of them not working.

What made me check consumer affairs was when I went to place the blanket on the bed for the next season I noticed a sealed piece of paper stating claims! This claims was folded so no one would even think to read it! Looks like a packing slip with all writing folded inside. This upset me even worse. Why didn't Sunbeam place statement like, "Read Important in red," so customers could see it. So I thought we better get new ones maybe they only work for one season!

But then I thought I better read Consumer Complaints first, now after reading all the reviews have decided not to purchase Sunbeam product ever again! I've been very disappointed with this product and tell all my family and friends to stay away from Sunbeam products. I finally have had it with Sunbeam! They use to have the best electric blankets and now can anyone every trust them again! I sure won't!

My mother and myself both got the Sunbeam electrical throw and both of us had little use of them before they were no longer working. My mothers got a little warm on only half her blanket. My blanket quit working when the high/med/low setting light wouldn't stop blinking and the blanket stopped working completely after that.

Its a shame that I actually thought I was the only one having problems untill I looked up the Sunbeam website. What a shocker that so many of these have malfunctioned. Time to get them off the market or get something done to satisfy all the nonsatified customers that paid money for this junk. I want a new blanket for me and my mom that WORKS!

I haven't owned the electric blanket for too long (10 months) and 2 days ago it just quit working. I have to put the thermostat on HIGH for it to barely get warm. Actually, I'm going to quit using it for fear that there may be an electrical short or something. After reading other reports, Sunbeam is just another junkie Chinese product. Will never purchase any of their products again. $80 + s/h.

Have bought 2 of their electric blankets, they never get warm.
Will never purchase another Sunbeam

product.

I purchased an electric blanket for my son's twin bed in January. In October, we plugged it in as the cold weather had set in. The control just blinked and the blanket never got warm. I looked online and found a reset procedure, as well as a lot of other unhappy customers. The procedure didn't work so I contacted Sunbeam Customer Service.

I received a response that with the same procedure to reset that I'd already tried. I was told that if that didn't work (apparently they know that it doesn't) that I can mail it (at my expense) to the repair facility and they'll fix it, if it's under warranty. If not, it will cost me $55 to repair it, which is more than the blanket cost originally.

They clearly know this is a problem yet they continue to produce these blankets for unsuspecting customers, knowing that they will receive few, if any, back for repair due to the cost they set. Unfortunately, this is exactly what I expected when this became a problem.

While using an electric throw,PN116766-002, the cord from the plug seperated from the controller at point the electric line enters the controller. It appears to have seperated cleanly. The part of the cord from the plug was live and laying there. The control unit style is N85AP E23632.

I purchased 2 Sunbeam electric blankets from Wal-mart last winter. Even at the highest setting, they barely got warm. I tried contacting the company, only to reach a recording. I will never again purchase anything made by Sunbeam, coffee maker, microwave, heating pads, etc. Never again.

I purchased a $130 Sunbeam Mattress Warmer Pad with dual control less then 10 months ago and one of the controls stopped working. The mattress pad came with a year warranty.

I notified Sunbeam, a brand of Jarden Consumer Solutions of the defect by email several times and received only excuses and empty promises to help.

I purchased an Oster Coffee maker yesterday at London Drugs in West Vancouver. Some of the instructions are in French and the number I called 1-800- keeps repeating & having you re-enter the phone number ad nauseum but never gets thru to any one.

Sunbeam apartment stove lasted a year and the thermostat is out and so am I. Petter brand/ MLO are out of business and Sunbeam has nothing to do with backing their name or products. No wonder Sunbeam stock is in the toilet for years. Licensing your name means backing it with a warranty or parts.
What happened to Sunbeams licensing fees? In some CEO's Cayman bank account.
No spare parts to be found anywhere.

The name Jarden Consumer Group comes into this equation also. Another rat in the wood pile.

I purchased an electric blanket @ 74.99 @ 6 months ago, the item worked well the first week we used it. Then, my wife and I noticed that it was not getting as warm as it used to. The blanket just went downhill. I have owned electric blankets most of my adult life. According to the other negative comments, I probably will never buy another Sunbeam again. I still had my receipt, but I was not in the system. (75.00) This is alot of money to be warm for 1 week. Also, I had never washed it either.

Sunbeam Mr. Coffee Model M75 tea maker leaks hot water all over the counter. Apparently it does the same thing that the Mr. Coffee makers do. The unit was purchased at the Kmart in Sumter, SC.

i purchased a sunbeam microwave at target store in joplin,mo.july 21,08.i bought it to use in my camper. probally did not use more than a half dozen times.i went to use it this spring an blew a fuse in it. i contacted the listed repair service in springfield,mo. she was unable to get the right sized fuse for me. i contacted sunbeam directly, they said if i had the reciept for it i could get a refund. i told her all i wanted was a fuse and would even pay for it. i said i could not find my reciept. she said contact target and they would print me a reciept. contacted target and they said the could not because it was out of their system. i show where i wrote the check to them on 7/21/08,for 57.53 and that is all i have.

we have purchased 4 electric blankets in the past several years, none of them work/worked. I contacted the store where purchased & the sunbeam company. Long story short- they refuse to do anything. the warranty is useless and costs the consmer more money to return blanket with no guarantee. In fact, without a receipt, they will do nothing. This is an inferior company with an inferior product.

We purchased a Sunbeam microwave mode number SM0701A7E in October/2008. It stopped working in late March. We contacted Sunbeam Customer Support and did everything they asked us to do. They received the purchase receipt and the parts they wanted returned several months ago at a cost of nearly $10 to us since it was going to Canada. We have been in touch with them several times. They said they received everything on May27th which was nearly a month later which I don't understand why it took over a month for them to receive it.

Now we are being told that everything was approved but now we have to wait an undisclosed amount of time for them to procure the funds to send the refund. We purchased this microwave in good faith and we feel as though the company taking advantage of the consumer. We deserve better service from the company when we buy their product. If a company to has to go thru such lengths when they have the proof of purchase and warranty and has to procure and amount as small as $60 then they have no business being in business in the first place and we hope they know that this red tape they are putting us thru will ensure that we never buy another Sunbeam or Oster product.

I've purchased 3 Sunbeam electric blankets in the past 2 years and all have quit working in the first 3-5 months. All were purchased from Walmart, but I won't buy another. Sure took me a long time to learn my lesson, bad company and a bad product.

I purchased a Sunbeam Mixmaster Heritage series Stand mixer model number 2346 in March of 07. It quit working in June of 08 and the company replaced it.Now 9 months later the second one has stopped working. I called the company and they did send me a replacement but I afraid to use it because I don't think it well work for long. We tore the last one apart and it has plastic gears in it and they just can not stand up to the use that they need to take.

I always thought the Sunbeam had really good products now I would really have to think about it before I purchased anything else of theirs. I don't feel safe about using this mixer and will have to go purchase someother brand. When trying to find any info on this mixer the model number would always bring up the next number the 2347 and not the 2346 that I have.

I paid 100.00 king size and now It is reading ff and it stop working.Any sugestions? vm

I'am out of a 100.00 $and no blanket my husband just had knee replacement and is cold and no blanket Iam using a 10.00 heating pad,not happy.

On February 15,2009 I prepared a cup of broth for my husband using the hot water from my hot water dispenser. Just as I was handing him the cup it shattered in my hand and burned his torso horribly. He had 2nd degree burns and spent a week in the hospital. I didn't realize that the water was that hot.

It was a nightmare. He was in horrendous pain that the doctor had a difficult time managing. He was heavily medicated and still had a lot of breakthrough pain. He was unable to work for 2 weeks and still is very uncomfortable. He is a musician and has to hold a guitar against his body.

I have purchased 3 electric blankets in the past 4 years and the dual controls never last. This is the last time I will ever buy a Sunbeam blanket .

I was using the heating pad on my back, sitting on our couch. It started feeling really hot. I stuck my hand behind my back and smoke started coming from the pad. I jumped up, grabbed it, unplugged it and then it started to ignite. I ran to the sink and thru water over it. I then realized my shirt was burned and so was our couch. We only had this heating pad for less than 1 year and probably used it only 3-4 times. I hope that you could help me with this situation.

My shirt was burned, couch is marked.

I have purchased several Sun Beam Electric blankets. For the past three years, I have been returning the blankets back to Sunbeam after just a few months, the performance of the blankets has been non-existent. I have had to return now for the fifth time, and six to seven blankets later, I still cannot get a blanket that works for more than three months on a good day. These blankets cost around $90.00 a piece. With the health issues I have been facing, being cold is not in the program, and it has not always been doable that I can return the blankets in a timely matter due to my health issues.

Sunbeam has replaced the blankets, but the problem is that I cannot get them to send me one that works. This is a ongong problem with no resolution in site, and I'm COLD and so is my child! I could not always get to a mailing house, because I have had three surgeries since 95, two were recent. I am under stress with this!

I bought a Sunbeam countertop microwave on 8/21/08, it came with a 1 year warranty and it has broke. it won't turn on at all I checked my plugs and circuits and they all work so its the microwave. I would appreciate a new one I have the model #SM0701A7E. I also still have my receipt. I took this microwave back to the store but they said to contact the company.

It won't turn on.

I purchased a electric twin size blanket on 12/10/08. and a month later the blanket does not work anymore. This is the second time I have gotten a sunbeam blanket that stopped working after only a few weeks of use.

We have bought 2 Sunbeam Queensize electric blankets. The first lasted about 1 year. The second lasted 2 months before blinking and not heating. The warranty is useless with the return procedures in place.

I have bought 4 Sunbeam electric blankets from Walmart and they are all junk. None of them heat up very well and the Queen size one works whenever it wants. I've been very disappointed with this product and will tell all my family and friends to stay away from this product.

I bought a Sunbeam Electric blanket in September and by October, the control light was flashing and there was no heat on one side. I had not saved the receipt as I never have had a problem with a blanket before. I bought another Sunbeam blanket and tried shipping the first back to Sunbeam. I used the addres on the material I got for the second blanket. Much to my amazement, I just got the package back as it was REFUSED by Sunbean. I wrote to Sunbeam via e-mail, but have had no response. Now that I have read all these postings, I am sure I will not receive any assistance from Sunbeam. I just know that I would never buy any product made by this company. I also wonder how long the second blanket is going to last.

I am out the money for the first blanket and then for the shipping of it to Colorado. I will just have to see how long the second blanket lasts.

have purchased 3 different electric blankets at various times and all have failed, assumed 2 failures were the consumers misuse. Purchased another (mistake) and have the same results as the others the first day of use they flash FF after a few minutes then stop working. can be plugged back in and will resume working for awhile then flash FF

On Oct/29/08, for $139.84 + tax, I purchased a king size Sunbeam Luxury Ultra Plush Heated Blanket from the local Wal-Mart Store. Right away I notice that the two outer layers of ultra plush material, other than the outside seams, were only sewn together with very small tack stitches that hold them together; 4 across and 5 long ways, a total of 20 tacks. I had a time getting the blanket smooth and strength on my bed because of so few stitches holding the two layers together. After only a couple of weeks of the top layer sliding out of the correct position over the bottom layer putting stress on the tack stitches, a small hole developed at one of the tack stitches. That has caused even more stress on the tack stitch so the hole is getting even larger.

On 12/01/08, I contacted Sunbeam about the problem and the warranty. And yes on 12/04/08, Sunbeam offered to check it out to see if it is covered by the warranty, however, that will take at least a 3 to 4 weeks turn around. Just so happens I purchased this heated blanket during the winter season right when it is needed. I am not happy about having to do without the blanket that long. Since I am a seamstress, I can repair the one hole and with some extra work I could securely sew the two layers together to prevent other holes from developing at the other small tack stitches.

Crazy huh, having to repair a $139 blanket that is not much over a month old? Even crazier is having to pack it up and ship it to them for a determination of warranty coverage. I love the ultra plush material but the basic construction is a very bad design. If the blanket is not repaired properly the electrical wire could become exposed and become a dangerous situation. I have not decided what I will do to correct this problem but I wanted to let Consumer Affairs know of this defective model electric blanket. They should be recalled for defective as well as for safety purposes.

My son bought be an electric blanket on October 3 2008, for my birthday. It last until last Monday, November10, 2008. No one will do anything about this. It's disappointing, I know it's only a blanket, but the one my Grandmother had for 20 years last 21 yrs. I'm embarassed for sunbeam and their lack of ethics in their products.

My husband purchased a Sunbeam stand mixer ,I had made a birthday cake and some cupcakes andI made frosting plus mash potatoes .I went to wash the beaters last week and saw that a plastic piece was missing off of one of them .I got concerned because the frosting was white like the potatoes. So i took the other one off it came off real easy .

I also wash every thing by hand and it was not in the sink .I tried calling Sunbeam and all i get is an ansewering machine telling me to call back because their busy ,I tried calling three times. Worried in OhioHope you can get them to recall these because it could be a choking hazzard for someone.Thank you for listing.

The electric blanket that we purchased on 01/09/06 does not heat up at all. Last winter we noticed that we had to put the settings on 8 in order to feel a little heat, but now we do not get any heat even at the highest setting. With the five year warranty, we expect Sunbeam to do something about this. Please advise-----and after reading the complaint from the woman in Colorado, we do not want to be put in that position. We need a blanket that gives us HEAT.

This blanket has been cross-country more than I have. Witness purchase 10/9/02, sent back 10/26/02, 1/31/05, 4/6/06,10/17/06 etc. I called to receive a postage paid label to ship it back on 9/08 and all Victoria was what size and color pattern I wanted. I called aback about 2 weeks after I had not received the shipping label and was informed by Lowell that I had to wait 4 more weeks for the label to be sent, a total of 6 weeks? I have never had a Sunbeam blanket even preceeding above dates that lasted the 5 year warranty.

We have had freezing and snowing here in Colorado already and depend on a heating blanket. We are in our 70s and 880s and need to be snug. I have all the serial numbers if required. Thanks.

I have a complaint about the sunbeam electric banket. For the past 3 years I have had to replace them because the unit that turns on the blanket starts flashing and it's not fair that I have to purchase a blanket once a year. They should last a little bit longer then that?

I ended up getting very sick because I couldn't stay warm.

Bought the kitchen asst. mixer for my husband who is dealing with cancer. It worked excellent 1 time and he was able to get nourishment by using it. The 2nd time the rubber seal in the blade broke in 2 and now leaks. Store will not take it back has been used. Tried to call 800# no answer.NOW WHAT???All I want is a new seal...

My son and I have always used Sunbeam Electric blankets. They use to last at least a couple of years. But now, they are always breaking down and they would stop heating after a couple of months use. They wouldn't even last the winter. The last one he bought stopped working only after a couple of weeks.

For the last 2 or 3 years, I had to constantly bring back the blankets to the store for new ones because they stopped heating. I follow the directions and I even had to stop washing them thinking that was the problem. I am not going to buy Sunbeam Electric blankets any more.

About one month ago I arrived home and my apt. was on fire. Black smoke coming out of the balcony. Mr. Caffe Caffemaker FTTX85 switch was defective, and set my place on fire. I became homeless with two kids and a dog in one day. I have lost a lot of furniture, lost a place to live, couldn't work four 3 weeks, and sleep. This whole situation affected me mentally. I'm scared.

Model CGX20 programmable coffee maker, in use almost daily since early 2007, has twice turned on randomly, i.e. without being programmed to do so. This would seem to be a potential fire hazard, since the unit was empty at the time. Fortunately, we were there at the time to unplug the machine.

No damage that we are aware of. I unplug the unit whenever we are away for more than a few hours.

my husband just bought me a deep fryer CZF725 i used it 2 times and the handle on the frying basket broke, it will not lift the food out of the oil.

Several years ago I bought a couple thousand dollars worth of Sunbeam stock. It was a couple of years later that I found out that the stock was worthless because the company went private at the time I bought their stock. The information from Ameritrade showed the company going through reorganization but not the private conversion. The Sunbeam Corporation used investors money to rebuild the company and did not intend to repay its investors.

Ameritrade wanted to charge me to remove this and other deadbeat stock from my portfolio. I lost 18 thousand dollars with Sunbeam, Lifepoint, and other companies whose management lived so much better than the defrauded investors.

Upon opening my third replacement Sunbeam electric blanket in 9 months, 3 purchases, 2 returns at J.C. Penny,Glendale, CA., I noticed a cardboard insert hidden in the newest Sunbeam blanket. STOP-Do not return this product to the place of purchase. Below this you are direct to Sunbeam's web site www.sunbeam.com for any questions regarding repair, replacement, sit-up and functioning. Bottom line: Don't I have the right to return my purchase to the same store I bought it? A five hour drive to the nearest service location is a little much.

We purchased two queen sized electric blankets in Dec. 2006. The blanket is equipped with dual controls. They both worked for two months without problems. We have never cleaned them as directed. We started using them again in Oct. 2007,and they worked fine for about 3 weeks. Then the right side on both blankets over the period of about a week would not work. One of the blankets actually shocks the person on the right side. I called the Sunbeam Corp. and I was told that I would have to mail them in and wait several weeks and they may or may not replace them at their option. I believe a product less than a year old and used per their guidelines should last longer than 11 months with less than 3 months use. I believe that the several weeks at their option is unrealistic. I also no do have any trust of shipping them the evidence of a product that is defective and could potentially burn a house down.

I a Mr. Coffee coffee maker that I hate. No matter how careful I am about putting in the filter, most of the time the coffee ends up full of coffee grounds. Or I end up with the filter basket over flowing with water and coffe grounds. It is a mess!

I purchase a mr. coffee, coffee maker from walmart, model # 1sx23 around six months ago, and it hasn't work right but a few time's, it leek water and coffee grounds all over my counter top.

coffee stains on my counter.

I purchased a Sunbeam Mixmaster Heritage Series Stand mixer in 3/06. In Jan. of 07 the mixer stopped working and they sent me another one, the first time I used it the tilt release would not work, so I called and they sent me another one in April of 07, here it is the first of July and my third mixer will not work. Once again the tilt release won't work. I have demanded my money back. The reason I am writing is because there must be a defect in the mixer or I would not be having the same problem. The mixer is a Sunbeam Mixmaseter Legacy edition model 18055. I feel this model should be recalled. Thank you for your time and concern. If I do not get a full refund then I will go to my lawyer and the BBB.

I have had eight hand surgeries and can not use a regular hand mixer. I depend on a stand mixer to do what I can't. I have had three mixers in the last 6 months, all with serious problems that has left me unable to make bread, cakes, or anything else that it is used for. I find it rediculous that there should be so much problem with a machine.
