In 2006, they installed a sprinkler system in front and the backyard using 2 Hunter controllers. In May 2011, one controller malfunctioned. I called them; they gave me an estimate of $530.00, and demanded $75.00 for the service call. I paid it. Since then, they have been out several times to correct the errant sprinklers that they just installed because some areas were completely dry and others saturated. My water bill doubled last month.

set apointment.
Two represenative arive and give me a verble quote. I asked them to give me a writren estimated after writting it up to they need $75.00 for service call no service was done or request or counld be done on same day.
they did not even have the equipment on truck to do the work even if i agreed to the over $6100. doller bid.

I called the address listed in PennySaver for a sprinkler system installation and left a call-back number. I got a call back from a Steve, who asked what I wanted; and that was to replace the current sprinkler system in the front yard. He never said anything about a fee to provide an estimate. The setup was on the same day. It was time to get an estimate about an hour after lunch. Two men arrived and gave me a verbal estimate. I asked for it to be in writing. After they wrote it up, he asked for $75.00 for the estimate. What a rip-off company. I will never use them and I advise you all to never use them either.

I called Sprinkler Smart on August 6, 2010, after seeing their full page ad, in a homeowners magazine. I spoke to the owner, told him that I needed a front yard sprinkler tuneup for working sprinklers, and an estimate for a full backyard sprinkler installation. He stated that that their was a $75 service visit fee that would be applied to the price of the tune up, which he said would cost $200, and could be done same day. I thought $200 total was a good price, and arranged for a same day service visit.
His tech came out and evaluated my front sprinklers, looked at the back yard for estimate purposes, and stated that the tuneup would not happen today, and the cost for the tuneup was $400. No work was done, and I refused to sign the bill/estimate, which included the $75 fee. I promptly told the tech that his price was $200 higher than that quoted by the owner over the phone, and immediately called the owner to straighten it out.
He insulted me, stating I could not afford his work, and that he never quoted $200. He threatened collections. No work was done. I refused to pay the $75 fee. His employee left, and proceeded to call the owner back, still hoping to resolve the situation, stating I would not have arranged a service call for a $400 tune up, and was misled by his $200 quote.
He is obviously unreasonable and a web search of Sprinkler Smart will confirm that most consumer comments and complaints, are precisely regarding service charge problems, for work never performed. I have perfect credit, and have never had collection issues. It is unfortunate to ever have called Sprinkler Smart. Apparently, this is what they do. They are bad seeds. They are threatening to ruin my perfect credit with collections.

I called Steve **, because I saw a Sprinkler Smart truck go by on the freeway. I requested they come out to give me an estimate for my residence and to quote me for a 96" wood fence. I was never told that the site visit would cost me any money; that is why I agreed to schedule it. If I heard him say this, then I would have told him "No, thank you."
Anyway, he told me that he would schedule a technician to come out that Saturday, December 5, 2009. The tech came out, walked the property, and wrote down some notes on a pad. He said he would email me an estimate a.s.a.p.
Days went by, I didn't receive anything; no estimate, no follow-up calls were made by Sprinkler Smart to go over the estimate they said they wrote, nothing. Then on February 9, 2010 (2 months later), I received an invoice for $65 in the mail for a service call. I received no service, no estimate for any work, nothing. I was floored as you can imagine, because I thought they forgot about me. I never called them back, because I already had estimates from 4 other companies and I thought that was good enough to go on.
I called Sprinkler Smart on February 9 and left them a message about the invoice. I received an email the next day from the tech telling me that he was surprised I didn't pay my invoice. I asked him to send me the quote he prepared, but I never got it. Now, a month later, March 8, 2010, Steve ** is calling for payment and is threatening to turn our account in to collections. I emailed the tech to get the estimate, and finally, on March 9. I received the estimate dated December 9.
I never saw this estimate until now. I called Steve on March 10, 2010 to discuss this, and he is serious about turning the account in to collections. I do not understand this at all. I received no service, no timely estimate, and no follow-up calls to schedule the work or to review the estimate; nothing. I did get my fence installed by an awesome local fence company, and it's beautiful. Steve is sending our account to a collections agency.

Per my contract, Sprinkler Smart agreed to trim six trees and haul away debris for $450. After a day working and only on three trees, the workers left my property with branches of thorny trees branches. They told me that they would come back to finish the job. I was expecting them the next day, but I have not heard back for several days and my messages were ignored. Eventually, I talked and Brian told me that on 12/23/09, he would finish the job. However, I received a call that his truck was not working and he could not come for the job till further notice. Because of that and Christmas, I had to employ another company who charged me $240 for hauling away hazardous material, tree debris with thorns that hurt my son and his friends.
In order to finish the job, I have to employ another company the last minute. In good faith, I enclosed $150 for their services that is not even acceptable. That is $450 minus $240 that I paid to the other company and minus $60 to finish the trees in my backyard. Further, they are harassing me by calling and requesting triple money than what was agreed.
