In April, 2000 I received an advertisement from Shop at Home Builders, A Division of Carson's Shop-at-Home. Flyer date 4/23/2000. A salesman by the name of Brad came to my housse to give my brother an estimate on tuckpointing the front of my two-flat. The estimate was $2,900 and it included restoring the front of my place as close to the original finish as possible.

I called Shop at Home many times before the job was completed and spoke to a manger by the name of Marvin. He sent the workers back to my place on four occasions, they attempted to finish the work properly. The crew that Shop at Home sent to my building were very sloppy. They trampled the plants that we'd recently planted, left mortar mix and sand all over the curb and my neighbors grass.

The work performed by the crew that was hired by Shop at Home was to be guaranteed for a year. I am now calling Shop at Home again because the mortar mix is cracking and flaking off of my bricks. My building is now two different shades of red. I reported this to Shop at Home over a month ago. During this time I received at least 10-12 promises that the contractor who performed the work would contact me regarding the situation, to date no response.

I am very dissatisfied with their work and their approach to correcting the problem. I would like a total refund of the money I paid for the work, $2,900.

It may not be possible to get a complete refund but if Evelyn gets an estimate of the costs of repairing the work, she can sue the company in Small Claims Court.
