Corinth of Bronx, NY October 25, 2008

Corinth of Bronx NY (10/25/08)
I Went to sears located in Yonkers to purchase a stove and a Frig on August 17, 2008.There were 2 sales people that helped me out one name Sasha whom worked in the Stove area and another youn lady whom I cant remember her name, she hepled me out in the Frig area Meanwhile after being in the sore for over a 12 hrs the two young ladies tells me that we have the do the transaction over meaning that we will have to charge your credit card again. So the young lady call her manager out and asks for help.

After thinking everything was ok, I get a call on the delivery day but early in the morning around 6am the man tells me the time that I should expect delivery and also what I was getting. He said that I was getting 2 Stoves and 2 Frigs! I said are you crazy I only orderd 1 Stove and 1 Frig. Soon after I called the store a expain the situation to the store Manager, the Store manager tells me that I would have to come to the store, I explain to him that I live at least 45 min away which he did not care.

So I went into the store later on that day and spoke to the manager of that department, I then expain to the female what had happend. There also was a 20%off sale that day if you purchase over 599.99 using your sears card which I did and the two young ladies did not honor that discount. Well to top off this matter I've been a good customer since 2001 and I can't believe that a large company like sears are not solving my problem that I've had since August. I've called Sears Customer Service over 20 item and still no result.

Sears has no finance charge for 1 year with the purchase over 599.99 I have been receiving statements with late charges.

We purchased a side by side refrigerator wih freezer in the bottom in Nov.2006. In August of 08 the light unit and conrols just fell off due to the unit not cutting of and melting. Then two weeks later the freezer sopped working this should not happen to a refrigerator less than two years old.

About 4 years ago I bought a freezer from Sears, i also buy the master protection agreements from them on all of my major appliances. The freezer broke down 3x per year, the people who service the appliances always seem to spend anywhere between 300.00 - 900.00 on parts. The last time it broke down was in July of 2008 The service tech ordered 900.00 worth of parts and then when they came he said he would replce my freezer instead of fixing it. He came out took the extra parts and we called in a new freezer.

The new freezer came on July 10 2008. It is now October and the freezer has completely shut down and here we go again another tech and service call, I am not eligible for the 90 day satisfaction guarantee, and they will start rebuilding it once again.

The consequences are simple I have a family of 7, i pack my freezer full, The protection agreement only covers 250.00 of my food loss. I lose more than that everytime it breaks down. My hgusband is a real estate agent and times are tough i am sick of these losses and the hardships they continue to burden my family with. Another thing for the money Sears has put out on parts and service to these companies and the insurance company paying them is crazy, it is a unecessary burden to the consumer. we could have brought 20 freezers for the cost of repairing two!

My upright freezer has stuck in the defrost mode twice. My food spoilage was covered only at 250.00 my loss was 517.54 A repairman cannot come out until October 30,2008.This will be the third repair. A thermostat, a timer and electric panel have been replaced. When the freezer goes into the defrost mode NO Alarm goes off, which it does have. The quick freeze mode Does not work so the Ice cream gets soft. Food spoilage is only covered one time in 12 months! Sears does not put a priority on freezers and I was told Sears DOESN'T like complaints to consumers nor the Fair trade Commission!

I want my money back I do not want another Sears product. MY scheduled appointment in September the Technician canceled saying that he received a page the appliance was working this was at 4:45 on Sept.17, 2008. I had been waiting since 1pm! The next appointment was Sept. 27, 2008. I lost a FULL freezer of food due to spoilage! Sears does not give any priority to customers who are waiting for repairs or parts or who are still have repair issues! The receipts that are given are very poor, due to lack of ink and fade very quickly. I have made several phone calls to corporate office. It has not helped.

A full freezer of frozen food spoiled Total cost was 517.54 Sears policy is the same for freezer and refrigerators! I had to buy frozen food daily due to lack of a full size freezer. Replacing the food is almost twice the cost as I when I had purchased it. I have also had the door sears replaced twice due to poor sealing and air leaks. Now I going through this again! This is not fair. My extended contract is good until 09/2010 Where are my rights? What about the lemon law?

I faxed 6 pages of losses to Sears on the items I lost and only received 250.00 What a joke! My next Repair date is Oct.30, 2008 8-12. Sears also does not like to give a four time frame for repair!

I purchased a fridge from Sears and it started having problems just 1 year later. I thought, thank goodness I purchased an extended warranty, right? well not so much. I initially had a minor problem with Ice forming in the fridge, but evrything worked fine.

After Sears came to fix it, the ice was gone, but the refridgerator stopped working. I called the technicain back and then the freezer stopped working ... 1 month later and the refridgerator or freezer are still not working. Try living with five children (one an infant) with no freezer or refridgerator.

Lots of wasted food, when the unit would work - then stoop, lots of take out (no food in the house) and a very upset baby with no milk = upset parents.
