Peter of Red Hook, NY November 23, 2008

Peter of Red Hook NY (11/23/08)
We did our Kitchen about 1 1/2 years ago and purches a new refrigerador side*side we paid 1500.00 from Sear;s we are having problems with the refriderador. The refrigerator was not keeping my food cool i notice on the bottom where the veg. bin is one of the vents there was ice around it. We also had no water coming out of our dispenser. The hose for the water was forzen b/c it was in the back of the refrigerator. I knew right away what it was. In the Freezer there is a panel remove that and the coils had a lot of ice on them. Had to get a plow dryer to melt the ice that form on the coils.

This happen to us about 5 years ago and the repair man show us what was wrong with it.. The only problem it got so bad we had to replace it. Yes, we clean under the refrigerator every month b/c of dust. What is upsetting is it happen agian . We contact Sear's and they told us there was nothing they can do.

The economic problem is we can't afford to get it fix. To be honest i really don't think they can fix it b/c the last repair man that try to fix our last one he never did. I had lost about 100 of food. The physical damage is almost every week i have to pull the panel out in the freezer for about 3 weeks. It's not easy. Sooner or later it's not going to work anymore. I'm not sure what to do.. Please help..

Joseph of Mays Landing, NJ November 18, 2008

We purchased a refrigerator frezzer side-by-side for 1200 and less than a year we awoke to a mess with everything melting. This was a fir morning. We were told when we purchased it that we had 24 7 service. We had just fully stocked the frezzer! They told us they would be the Sat, Sat turned to Monday and we lost all of our frozen meats. They did nothing to help us and in fact we found out later that the part that caused the problem was a known defect.

We purchased a mini refrigerator in December 2008. We purchased an extended warranty on the appliance. The appliance broke only 1 week after purchase. Almost a year later and the refrigerator is still broken, parts on back order, and we can't return the item. We resorted to purchasing another appliance in the meantime. I recieved a call tonight 13 Nov 08, that the part was still on back order. The past 2 weeks we have had a scheduled day of the 15th of Nov for a technician to come and finally repair the item. Now he/ she may not show or have the parts necessary. Can I get this fixed or have my 80.00 back??! I just want this to be over! I am very disappointed in the quality and customer service I thought I was getting and paying for from Sears. Thanks

- had to purchase another appliance - waiting a year for repair, replacement or refund. - countless hours on the phone with people who act like I'm putting them out or am not being resonable after a year of waiting.

William of Yuma, AZ October 29, 2008

William of Yuma AZ (10/29/08)
On 10/15/08 I called Sears in Yuma for repair of my 3 year old Kenmore Refrigerator because water in the door went out. The repair man called, but our caller ID showed he had a San Diego Ca. phone #. He came to the house said the solenoid was bad. The solenoid would cost 84.99 and Labor would be 208.00. He had the part out of the refrigerator, which took maybe 10 min. I figure to replace it would take about 20 min. So I figure he makes between 400-500 a hour. I wish I could make that much. I still cost me 69 for basically nothing. I would love to e-mail Sears direct, but they don't have the guts to list their e-mail address. My parents have had Kenmore products that lasted 20 years, ours lasted 3. I figure the once proud name Kenmore is now nothing but junk. No wonder Sears is losing business.
