I received it as gift and right away doesn't work. It appears as a very large paperweight in my family room. Excellent piece of junk. Thank you Oster!

I have the same complaint as others posted about the Oster 12 bottle wine cooler, model OWO912H6H. It was a Christmas gift from the kids. There was no receipt and the unit died after 6 months. I am hoping to have an electronics friend figure out what's wrong. It's not a blown fuse as most others have posted.

Many customers have complained about the Oster OWO912H6H wine chiller quitting on them, and not being able to get help from the company. The same happened to me, so I decided to investigate the problem myself. What I found is a blown fuse on the circuit board that was stopping the cooling fan from circulating air across the heat sink. Without a way to bleed heat off of the circuitry, the wine chiller can't cool. The fuse is hardwired to the board, so I clipped it off with my wire cutters, and took it to Radio Shack to purchase a replacement. Using my soldering iron, I soldered the new fuse in place, and now the wine cooler chills wine just fine. Too bad Oster sucks as a company and forces its customers to resort to fixing appliances themselves.

I received the Oster 12-bottle wine cooler (Model 0W0912H6H) for Christmas and now after 9 months it quit. Display works but fans do not and it no longer cools. I'm sorry but I am getting tired of being ** by manufacturers. If they are going to sell junk, label it as junk. But they don't care. They have your money already. Oster should stand behind their products and offer some kind of solution to their problem!

Received a gift of the 12 bottle Wine Chiller Model OW0912H6H which stopped chilling about 6 months after using it. The electricity still works as the digital readout still works but the fan does not. I could not find my paperwork that came with the product so I "Googled" the product name, hoping to get some information as to how/where to get it repaired. After seeing all the comments on this website, I don't have much hope for help in getting a repair. Believe it was purchased at Best Buy but I have no receipt. Economic impact is that I need to purhase a replacement wine chiller. I was quite pleased to have received it as a gift.

I have been very upset about the Oster Wine Cooler not keeping a constant temperature. I was happy (if that can be said) that I found all of these complaints; obviously, I bought the wrong product. I trusted Oster but now see that I was wrong to trust them. Up until now I have not done anything, that is get in touch with Oster or Best Buy. I never thought to go back to Best Buy. Now that I have read all of these complaints, I am happy to realize it was not only me that had a problem. I will try to purchase another cooler and will stay away from Oster, and that goes for any other household appliances.

Like many others, purchased the Oster 12 bottle wine celler at Christmas in 2007. Installed new electrical outlet thing quit working in 6mo.

I tried Best Buy, where I made the purchase, and was given no help with my problem. Needless to say I won't buy the brand again and will do my best not to purchase from Best Buy either. With all the complaints why can't something be done to honor the warranty and the consumer? I will continue to give bad reviews do to this experience. Out the purchase price of the product.

I too received Oster's 12 bottle wine cellar (model:OW0912H6H0)as a Christmas gift from my kids Dec. 2008. It stopped working July 2009! After reading all the complaints on Consumeraffairs.com, I called Oster. They were not helpful nor encouraging regarding any type of warranty as I was told that Oster licensed-out their name on many products and this was a case of buyer beware. KUDOS to BEST BUY, Mill Plain Store, Vancouver, WA! I knew my son had purchased it there, so that is where I returned it. I had no receipt...they didn't care as they found the purchasing info on their computer. Customer Service Manager refunded me full price of the unit, which I promoptly used to by a Vinotemp 12 bottle cooler. Bill, a salesman in appliances, was terrific too. Best Buy stood behind the product that they sold with great professional courtesy. This consumer will continue to shop at Best Buy!

Purchased the wine chiller #OW0912H6H for Christmas 08 and the unit stopped working 3 months later. Called Best Buy and Oster and received the same results as everyone else which was nothing. There should be some type of Suit started aginst this Company or whom ever is responsible for this product failure...

I don't understand why Oster won't stand by the wine cooler model OWO912H68. Nowhere on the unit does it referernce another maker. If they don't respect their brand name then I don't either. There's plenty of competition to force them into bankrupcty also.

It is frustrating to know that when you buy a product with a certain brand, it might not actually be that brand after all. And, when it isn't, nobody wants to share in the burden of the responsibility when something goes wrong. I am tired of the companies taking all the profit, and none of the blame for a defective product. $100, and a bit of time trying to sort out the warranty that nobody will honor.

I just called Oster to determine the status of my warranty claim. I was told to send a fax to a number provided to me to receive an update. I sent a fax in February and another in April and have received no feedback.

Wow... like so many others I bought this wine cooler... only I bought three!! One for myself, and two others for friends of mine for Christmas 'O7. I have called as well, with the same results as others. I am incredibly fristrated with both Best Buy and Oster... and would like my $300 back!

The refrigerator stopped working on 04/15/09. It was covered under the 1 year manufacturer warranty so we called the number on the warranty 1-866-866-6283 which has been disconnected. Their website, www.osterliving.com also does not exist. Called Oster at 877-383-6399 and was informed that it was not their product and to contact MLO Appliance. Unable to reach anyone at MLO.
The new refrigerator did not last a year and the company who warranties the refrigerator does not honor waranty.

I purchased an Oster Wine chiller from Best Buy around Christmas. After about 6 months the digital display went out, and a couple of months later the unit quit working all together. Contacted Oster and was informed that they did not manufacture the product, and gave me the contact info for a company filing bankruptcy. No answers from that company.
Basically, out roughly 100 bucks, wasted about 2 months back & forth through emails from Oster reps. Basically told nothing can be done & even though their branding is on the unit, not their responsibility

Rcv'd an Oster, 12 bottle wine cooler for Christmas '07. Worked only a few short months then kapput! Oster customer service had me clip the power cord and mail along with a refund form that they provided to them. They assigned me a $57 rebate. It's 3/09 and their number is no longer in service. Online blogs show that there are many many peolpe with the same problem, same company, same model. HELP!
Out $57 and a bit of pride from my daughter that was proud to have given it to my wife and I as a present.

The Oster Wine Cellar Model: OWO912H6H was purchased at Best Buy as a Christmas gift. After approximately six months, the cooling system would not work. The toll free number was no longer in use. Reviewing the other posted complaints regarding this product, it is obvious that this product is and was defective from the get-go.
My children purchased this product as a Christmas gift - I am extremely disappointed with this company; as well as, Best Buy.

Bought the 12 bottle wine cellar from BestBuy like so many others and it lasted about 6 months. Filed 2 claims with Sunbeam's toll free number and they never supposedly had a record from the first claim and no feedback after 4 months. Sounds like same as every one else who has taken time to report this to this site.

After 4 months with the wine cooler the temperature starting going up and down on its own and finally it stopped cooling and it was over heating. the digital numbers were flickering on and off. What a piece of junk. Purchased 12 bottle wine cooler Oster at Best Buy for 100.00.

I called the above telephone number and was told to cut off cord along with receipt and send to above address for refund as I could not return it to Best Buy. I have still not received my refund. I called the number again today and the number now says I can not call from this area. The email that I was able to reach them at previously is being rejected as if the company no longer exists.
I am confused! After reading all the comments on this product, I am realizing that I am not alone. All I want is my daughter's money returned for this unworthy product.

I have called three times about my Oster 12-bottle Wine Celler Model #OWO912H6H. The first two calls I was told Oster was trying to make a decision about what to do with this product since the company that made them for Oster is now out of business. When I first called in Oct. 2008 the wine celler was still under warrenty. This is no longer the case, since it is now January 2009. I was told by Leslie that Oster will not accept responsibility for this product. I then informed her that I will NEVER buy another Oster product. We owned this product for less then a year when it stopped cooling.

My wife purchased an Oster 12 bottle wine cooler model OW0912H6H back in November 2007 at a Best Buy store. The unit stopped working one year later (go figure, just after the warranty expired). Although both fans spin, the unit doesn't cool any more, and both red and green lights are on in the back panel.

The cooler stoped working in June I called the warranty company I was told to send the original receipt and cut the cord off to the addess Oster Appliance Support, West Hastings Street, Vancouver BC, Canada for a full rebate. And I have not gotten any reaponse the 1-866- is no longer in service. I am not sure what else to do at this point. I do not believe that I will get my money back for this product. I will never purchase another Oster product.

It seems that a company like Oster and Sunbeam products would want to make customers happy and do the right thing instead of saying too bad . So now I'm out of a wine cellar and a 100 bucks from a major company that customer service stinks. I wont recomend any products from this company and hope they have as much success as there warrenty company did . Maybe the goverment will bail them out as well when they go under.

E-mails to Oster and Sunbeam have not been acknowledged. I understand Petters LLC, the sub-contractor is out of business. We don't know where to go for a refund on this product.

Oster Wine Fridge was purchased, worked for 2 months. Called to get troubleshooting advice and was told that they would just refund my money. I was notified to cut the power cord off the unit and mail it in with the proper documentation of purchase and unit serial number. All of this was done and no check was received. I called Oster today to check on my warranty check and they said they will not honor the warranty because the product was made by a 3rd party that Oster licensed their name to. The 3rd party company, Petters/MLO LLC has gone out of business. I was given a physical address to contact Petters. (701 Xenia Ave. Ste. 450, Minneapolis, MN. 55416) The Oster rep. said that Oster had no responsibility to pay the warranty because the product was made by a licensee.
I find this VERY misleading. The product said Oster...there was no way to tell that it was not made by Oster. I have googled Petter's address and the suite number I was given is available for lease immediately. I find it very hard to believe that company that has gone out of business and that does not seem to occupy a physical address is going to refund my money. I called Best Buy, where the item was purchased, and they said they would fix it at no cost. I informed them that Oster made me cut the power cord to send in for the warranty and they notified me that they could not fix the unit. So I have no wine fridge, no $ for my warranty, and no way to repair the unit. Someone needs to start a class action lawsuit against Oster. This seems like something that would happen in a foreign country...not here in the USA.

I received the Oster 12 Bottle Wine Cooler as a gift and do not have the receipt. The unit was purchased at Best Buy in Round Rock, Tx. Four months later the unit stopped working. I went to Oster website to get information so I could take the unit for repair, however, the two service providers they gave me will not work on this unit.
When I went back to Oster web and filed a complaint, I was told that it was not manufactured by Jarden Consumer Solutions but was mfg by a different company, Petters Consumer Brands LLC / MLO Appliance Co LLC, under the Sunbeam and Oster brand names. Follow up emails to find out how long it will be before I hear some thing just continue to get automated responses that they are forwarding my concerns to the appropriate division. This has been since October. I can not get a real response. Have tried calling to no avail.

Purchased the OW0912H6H wine Cellar for Christmas Gift November 07 - by May 08 it stopped cooling. Fortunately, Best buy replaced with another one, but it also stopped working by October 2008. Phone calls to the customer service number resulted in an unservicable phone number.
Lost this money and still have to shop for a wine cooler. Oster used to be a name I would look for in home appliances ... not anymore. Especially since others have described same failure and same bad results. Guess it is a buyer beware ... Don't buy Oster / Sunbeam.

I purchased an Oster wine cooler in Dec 2007. It quit working in June 2008. I contacted the warranty company and sent my original receipt (yes, I had it, the cooler had been a gift) and the cord to the warranty compny 7/21/08. I have yet to receive my refund. When the warranty company's phone number became inoperable I contacted Oster directly. I have contacted them several times and they assure me that my claim has been placed on a waiting list as they are experiencing contractual problems with their warranty company.
I have recently learned the company handling warranties for Oster was Petters Consumer Brands LLC owned by Petters Worldwide Group. The owner, Tom Petters, was indited 12/1/08 in a $3.5 billion Ponzi scheme. The case against Petters may be the largest Ponzi fraud in US history. Checkout the Minneapolis StarTribune for more details. I believe Oster will continue stonewalling us for our warranties but I wish they'd be more upfront and tell consumers their warranty company is gone and there will be no refunds instead of stringing us along with 'your claim has been placed on a waiting list'. Now that I know there are thousands of investors who lost money with Tom Petters, I doubt my $100 refund will make it through the process.

Our Oster Wine Cooler stopped working during the warranty period. I contacted customer service and received a form to complete and by return mail send the cord from the appliance. That was in August. I was to receive a full refund.
I have not heard anything further despite several e-mails. I tried call the phone number listed on their correspondence and it is no longer available. Annoying and costly in terms of the original appliance and time.

I too bought a Oster wine cooler model # 0W0912H6H from Best buy in Nov of 07 the fan stopped working in August of 08 and I contacted the company and they told me to send the receipt with the cord and a form they sent me and I would receive a refund. I did all that and never hear back from them. I tried to contact them by email but didn't hear back so I called the 800 number which is disconnected. Sounds like they are out of business.

My sons bought me a Oster wine cellar for christmas '07 from our local Best Buy and in Sept. '08 it quit cooling. I called the support phone number in my book, was told to send my receipt, along with a copy of the emailed form they sent me with the cord, which I cut off and sent in on 9-12-08.
I have tried to call the number and there is a recording stating The toll free number you have dialed is not available from your area. I did make copies of my receipt and the bill from the post office, but I guess it will not do me any good now.

Purchased an Oster compact refrigerator in July, it has stopped working, tried to contact Oster to obtain warranty service, apparently they are in some sort of dispute with the company that fulfilled their warranties so comsumers are asked to be patient while they work out a solution. Who can sit back and wait with no refrigerator????

We had got the Oster Wine Cooler Model OW0912HGH as a Christmas gift last year and it went out in August 2008. I followed the warranty request requirements as directed by the Oster Appliance Warranty group in Vancouver BC, Canada. They gave me all the information to get a full refund including a Case #. I got an e-mail confirmation on Sept. 10, 2008 that the refund was in the mail, but guess what no refund to this date. All of their contact information methods such as the phone number and web site is no long obtainable as far as I know after several tries. I agree with everyone else no more products from Oster Appliances in my family's house.

I still haven't received my refund 4 months later and when I called the Oster Support line today to find out the status of my refund claim, I was told that the company that took my claim info back in July went out of business and is no longer associated with Sunbeam so all she could do was record my issue and have someone call me back. At this point, I don't think that I will ever get my refund but I guess I'll wait and see what Sunbeam has to say after they review my case.

I do not believe that a product that lasts only 5 months takes a company 5 months or longer to try to get a rebate. Also, i believe that if a store sells a product that they should back it up and although Sunbeam subcontracted this company that they should back it up. I will be sure that any product that has a sunbeam or oster label will never be in my household.
