I tried to order 3 flame tamers. I was just told that they were back order to 1/25/12. I have had the flame tamers on order for over ninety days already. The company does not support the grills after your purchase. Poor aftermarket company.
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

The NEXGRILL model 720-0125 regulator hose had melted as it was dangerously too close to the grease pan in normal operating conditions. I had read somewhere that one of their BBQs was recalled and a metal plate was issued to protect the hose from the heat.

We did not use the Nexgrill model 720-0536 much in the fall of 2009 when we bought it as a floor model. We only used it a couple times in 2010 as my husband had a stroke in June. When I went to use it in the fall of 2010, a valve malfunctioned, causing a small fire, which melted the knob.
I called Nexgrill for a repair person and found one. The repairman said I needed to order a new valve and that perhaps lack of use contributed to the problem. I ordered the part from Nexgrill, but did not request for a repair till this spring (2011). When the repairman came out, he said I had the wrong gas valve. After numerous calls to Nexgrill and even emailing a picture of the correct valve, I received the correct valve about a month later.
I had the repairman out again late June, and I enjoyed two weeks of grilling/cooking bliss before a second valve started shooting flames sideways and a third could not be turned down without going completely out. I called Nexgrill again and they said that the repairman must have left a leak or reinstalled the valves incorrectly. They also suggested that I take the knobs and "dashboard" off and do a soapy water leak test.
The grill proved too complicated for me, so I called the repairman again. He said that he had not changed any valve except the original faulty valve.
I feel pretty stuck between the manufacturer and repairman, each saying the other is at fault. The only thing standing between me and a functional grill appears to be my wallet.
Then I saw some of the comments people have made on your site about Nexgrill service.
I'd like your advice on what to do. I feel that I have now sunk $800 into a dangerous piece of junk. I feel that the safest (and perhaps cheapest) thing to do is to dump the Nexgrill and buy a Weber.

I purchased a Nexgrill Charmglow Barbecue Grill, model number 720-0578, from Home Depot in Los Angeles on 09/19/2008. After using it for perhaps two or three times a month, without any trouble, on 01/03/2010, it suddenly, and without warning, flamed up from over the extreme left burner, causing a second degree burn on my left hand and the disablement of the grill.
An initial notice to the company, was met with negative results. A reminder a month later to Nexgrill (and to Home Depot), resulted in a phone call, and a dance that continued for some several weeks, involving the company and their attorneys, with the result that they were "going to send to me some parts". Right! I am 68 years old, and really know how to disassemble and reassemble a complicated grill.
Anyway, I sued these ** in California Superior Court, Case number **, and the case is still pending. In my opinion they have now spent the equal of 20 replacement grills for the one I requested, and we have not even been set for trial. I anticipate their spending 20 more. Although I am a retired trial lawyer, I was wondering if anyone or any attorney wishes to undertake this deal as a class-action. There is not much in damages from my single case, but if multiplied by the number of blogs and other information, there might be something worth pursing here. It caused a relatively minor burn to my left hand and damaged the grill.

On 4/20/08, we purchased a Perfect Flame Grill, model # 720-0533. We enjoyed the $600.00 grill we had bought from Lowe's. As of Dec. 2009, we could not use our grill anymore. It would not light up anymore. As of February 22, 2010, I suffered a stroke and spent almost a month in the hospital. After I was released, I wished to enjoy the grill which I liked so much and remembered that it didn't work. My mother and my wife called repeatedly to Nexgrill for tech support. They were told by Billy ** that we should try replacing the igniter module and to expect delivery in two weeks. I was unable to fix it myself because of my stroke and due to my physical limitations.
After constant e-mails and phone conversations to Nexgrill, and waiting for 2 months for the back ordered part that was coming from China, it did not solve the problem. They could not offer a technician to fix this problem. As of August 16, 2010, I myself talked to Maxine at Nexgrill. I was told that not everything was done on my part to fix our grill. I then again explained to her my condition. I asked for them to help my family and was denied this, when I informed her we would be seeking legal advice to this problem.

I am trying to get a part for my $1500 grill. I purchased model 720-0151 NG. I know the grill is older, but the stainless steel parts are warrantied for life. This part is a gas valve. I cannot use the grill without this part. I will gladly purchase it, pay for shipping, go to any website they want me to go to--I just need the part. I have been on hold for hours, been to all kinds of websites, etc. If this was a wheel or a drawer handle or something insignificant, I could understand. But this is the gas valve. I thought I was buying quality, but in reality, I was buying junk that isn't supported. Please, someone help me.

My burners burned out right away just like everyone else, I bought a plumbing fitting at the hardware and used the sleeve to repair the break. The fix was temporary and they finnaly gave up altogether. I tried to buy quality and got junk. Paid hundreds of dollars. Next time I will probably get a weber. over heat / dangerous, Grill is a total loss will not do further repair

Purchased Charmglow (Nexgrill Manufacture) BBQ model # 720-0536. Just the second season in use had fire coming out of one of the main valves. Flames shooting out the front end of BBQ. Tried contacting company at listed #, not in use anymore. Took apart grill removed Manifold and fualty valve. Seems that the gasket between the valve and the manifold was defective causing gas to leak out at the valve.
Noticed many of the screws used in the unit do not hold up to heat and or the moistue. Completely rusted out. Main burners do not hold up aswell. Grill is just turning two years old and cost $1000.00. Purchased at home depot. Researching telephone number for assistance. Emailed byt no reply as of yet.
Will have to purchase replacement parts on my own. Time and labor. This also occured on thanksgiving day which put an added strain because we were using the grill to help cook. This grill has an oven as well. Not an easy grill to disassemble. Fear this will be an ongoing issue. Nexgrills as I now found out have had fire problems as well as parts wearing out to soon. My weber is 10 years old and still works like a champ.

Purchased a "Stainless" Propane Grill from Home Depot under name of Charmglow made exclusively for Home Depot. I noticed after the first season the Burner Tubes and Flame Tamers were rusting not a normal characteristic of stainless steel. Although the gill is kept covered and under and overhang the corrosion continued and flames leaped up from the large holes created as they corroded.
I tried to contact Nexgrill only to get no answer I called Home Depot and was told to go to the manufacturer they were not responsible. I researched on line to find a multitude of similar complaints and frustrations seeking accountabitity, repare and or restitution.
I paid in excess of $500 for this 5 burner grill that no one will stand behind. Moreover I can't believe that their isn't a recall as it relates to safety. Large areas of flam licking up from the Grill is both hazardous and of Inferior Quality. I do not have an opperational Grill and am out the $500 plus dollars paid for the grill.

On 6/27/2006 well I needed some things reparted on it Jan. 2009 since I have used it pretty much everyday since the purchase. Jan. 1, 2009 I called Jenn-Air who in turn contacted they're warranty company National Warranty Svc Office and on 2/2/2009 I was contacted by MD Appliance Service and they came to check and service the grill. The Appliance Tech was not able to repair or replace and of the following items: 4 brass burners (lifetime warranty item), 3 ignitors, 1 regulator, 3 grill grates. The above parts have been ordered on 2/10/2009.
Everytime I call MD Appliance Service I am told that the 4 brass burners and center grill grate are still on back order. I have contacted Jenn-Air and I have contacted Nexgrill (Nexgrill numerous times). I am continually told by Nexgrill the parts are still on back order. I call them every 30 days and I am told a shipment of parts has just arrived or a shipment is due in 2 days. I am told the parts will be sent to MD Appliance as soon as they come in or when shipment is received the parts will be sent to MD Appliance Service within 1 to 2 working days and on a couple of occassions been told MD Appliance will have the parts on a specific day.
I will call MD Appliance Service on the day I was given or 2 days after the day I was given and the burners and center grill grate have not arrived. I get email updates from Nexgrill and on 2 to 3 different occassions the email updates have told me that the parts have been received but have been sent to other customers because of a high demand for the parts.
It is now hurricane season in Florida and I am still without the use of my BBQ which is the only way of cooking if we lose our electricity. Nexgrill has shown no concern about this issue and I have feel that since I started to get repairs completed 2/2/2009 (parts ordered on 2/10/2009 originally)and it is now 6/24/2009 and I see no end to this problem it was time to contact Consumer Affairs.

It was supposed to be all stainless steel.
We all know that stainless does not rust and fall apart. The main problem with my grill is that the burners are not stainless, or very low percentage of stainless steel in them, and thy rust out, crack, and fall apart presenting a fire hazard and danger to the homeowner.
I got a free replacement the first time from Nexgrill. The next time that I noticed that the flame was not normal I called them again and they said that the warranty is over. Since then I'm on my fourth set of burners, that I keep buying as soon as they show signs of rust and cracks. I have five burners in that grill and the cheapest price was $95.00 plus shipping. Someone should be responsible for manufacturing this piece of garbage and posing a danger to innocent consumers.

I started the grill to fix dinner after a few minutes I smelled plastic, I opened the doors of the unit and there were flames coming from the hose lesding from the propane tank to the tee in the line I was able to get a wet towel over my hand and turn off the propane tank and then extingwish the remaining flame the hose was compleatly burnt through. I don't know what caused this but I am very sure there is a safety issue here my grill is only 2 years old and I keep all excess grease off of the grill and since this was the first time we have used the grill this year the grease trap was clean.

NEX grill model 720-0439, SN 720CSFJC0439, Purchased at Costco in 2008 has failed. Main searing burner will not function properly nor fully ignite. Cannot use it for it's intende purpose anf woulf think that a grill only a little over one year old would not fail, Qulaity seems very poor. Was wondring if others have had similar problems wiht this grill?
Due to poor quality I must purchase either a new grill or a replacement Searing burner for continued use of this grill.

I purchased this grill approx 3 yrs ago. during the summer all the burners were rusted out. when i called them they told me i would have to Pay $60.00 for new ones that have a 5 yr warranty and that it was a one time replacment only. i did that now they are rusting out again after 6 months.
this company should stand behind there warranty and also my knobs are getting hard to turn. i keep my grill clean and covered when not in use. this is terrible service

My Nexgrill sold under the label of sterling forge, model number 720-0016 recently caught fire when the regulator hose caught on fire. we had flames from the melted hose shooting out the sides of the barbeque which was close enought to the house to have caught the house on fire had we not been tending the grill at the time of the fire. I ended up reaching in and yanking the burning tank from the grill (not smart, I don't recommend you try this at home) to get the gas shut off. I am disposing of the grill, because the manufacturer has only offered to replace the regulator hose, how is that going to make the grill safe to use?? This is a very dangerous grill, I don't think I will be buying another gas grill any time soon. I am going back to charcoal.
The economic damage is I am out the entire price of the grill, and I think this is about an 800 or 900 dollar grill. thank goodness there wa no serious damage or injury, we were very very lucky.

purchased charmglow grill mdl. at home depot 4/30/06 for 370.00. bought this unit because it was totally stainless steel. wife complained at end of 07 grilling season that heat was hard to control, too much heat to rear of unit. when tried to use unit for first time for 08 found all three burner tubes had split and falling apart. wife called customer service at nexgrill to get replacement parts under warranty was told she would have to fax copy of receipt, did so and waited almost 2 weeks and no parts.
called again and was told now she would have topay shipping. said no way, that parts were only two and a half years old. asked for supervisor and after long wait same person said parts would be shipped free. after 2 more weeks of waiting and still no parts called back only to be told that they had no control over the weather and that we would get them as soon as they could get them from china.
after finding this site i am afraid that these units are severly lacking in design and feel that they are a major fire and safety concern. any one owning any of these grill should stop immeaditley before someone is hurt or a major fire is caused. am off to home depot to see what the store a which it was purchased will do for us, have spent thousands of dollars home depot. if they want to keep my business i hope they fess up to this problem and make good on it. is now beginning of august and will have no grill for this season

I have the nexgrill 720-008 It just stopped working. Put new gas tank in and it won't start. I can't find web page for trouble shooting.

While cleaning my grill I found two of three burners rusted out. Called customer service after 15 minutes on hold was cut off when customer service finally picked up. Looked on web for web site and found this site and the complaints on the grill I wanted parts for (Charmglow 720-0036-HD-050. I called the 888# for the rapair kit offeed and to order theree new burners. Of course there is a 3 to 4 week wait for the part to come in and then will be shipped. Shipping $18.49 was charged for parts. Oh but it waved me $84.00 that those parts would have cost. On a $350.00 grill???? I guess I'm lucky to not have had this unit burn up or explode like some others I have read about. I agree that we consumers should be give a complete refund because I am now afraid to use this grill.
Fortunately no physical damage but shipping on parts for cheap burners replacement. Anxiety about using this grill in the future. I will probably trash it and replace it with a safer product. Loss $350.00.

I was given this grill as a present several years ago. It was purchased from Target. The grill has been out of commission for some time because the parts-burners specifically-have burnt up(for lack of better word). I called the company and was told to fax over my information to find out if it was under warranty. Won told me that if it was not under warranty that the cost would be $20 per burner. I faxed over the information several weeks ago and have not heard from anyone to this date(May 29,2008).
I went online again today to find a possible different number and found that the same model was recalled in 2006(about the year that the grill was purchased) because of the possibility of overheating. I was not told this information by the representative and possibly have not heard anything for this reason. I was on hold for 30 minutes today and had to hang up. I am now going to try back to see if anyone will answer to discuss this matter. I feel that this may be the cause of my problems with this grill.
I feel that I should receive a new product because of the fault with the overheating and possibly causing the internal parts to break consequently. I know have to pay for 6 new burners at $20 each or buy a brand new grill. This product was not cheap and I feel that if $500 is spent on a product that is not even used everyday and it breaks due to manufacturers defect it should be made right.

The rusting of the three stainless steel burners which caused the grill to
be rendered inoperable in less than 2 years on a $349 retail all stainless gas grill model 720-0036-HD-05. Since stainless steel does not rust than Charmglow misrepresented their product.
Losing the benefit of the better part of two grilling seasons to an unoperable grill. Replacement burners priced at $68.00 each (3 needed) making the grill economically unfeasable to repair since spending another $204 for burners that last only two seasons would be throwing even more money away.

The linear burners , burned through in within one year. I have called and ordered the warranty parts and was told I would recive them within a few weeks. It's going on 3 months now. They Customer Service Dept keep telling me the parts have been shipped to their warehouse but there is such a demand for them they are shipped to others whom called first. They keep waiting on more shippments they said.
I have had to purchase a new grill because the parts needed to repair the Charmglow grill cost more than the grill itself.

I was using a Nexgrill model 720-0082-S-LP, when it caught on fire. Apparentlly the hose from the tank to the main burner seperated from the burner and caught on fire. The whole upper part of the grill was in flames and burned off the hose to the side burner. Fortunately I had a welding glove and I was able to reach in and turn off the propane bottle. If I hadn't had a long welding glove, I wouldn't have been able to reach in and turn off the bottle.
We were lucky the damage seems to be confined to the grill. In other cases the people may not so lucky.

I bought a Nexgrill BBQ Model #720-0025. It had a fire in the grill. A hose caught fire and burnt down my deck. I have since found out that there had already been a recall. I have never been informed of this either by Nexgrill who already had my name and the model # I had purchased or Target Stores from whom I purchased this grill. Target also had my name and #. There should be a class action suit against this company for failure to notify after a recall. I have also been waiting over three months for other parts for this grill. One is Stainless Steel Burners and the other is Cast Iron Cooking Grids. These were very inferior products. I am a professional chef and I know that stainless steel should not rust out. These burners did, thus I have to believe that thsy are not stainless steel. The Cast Iron Cooking Grids also rotted away and again as a chef, I have never seen cast iron rot and chip.
My deck has been burnt. It has cost me $475.00 to replace the wood that was destroyed

After one year of use the burners in our grill disintegrattd. I called for parts on May 30th. I was assured that my grill would be up and running by the 4th of July. I called again on July 9th and was told my parts would be shipped that week. It is now the 24th of july and nothing has arrived. We have missed The whole summer grilling due to this problem. I expect a replacement grill for the one that is faulty.

I purchased a Nexgrill BBQ and a side burner last april. After building the tile top and using the cutout dimension supllied in the manual the holes were too big because the manuals were incorect. After 6 months of going back and forth with Nexgrill admitting it was there mistake I still have not received a solution to the problem.I am now getting the tile top redone at the cost of 1300.00 and will be taking action against Nexgrill
Incorrect manuals caused wrong size to be cut for drop inns and now must be retiled at the cost of 1300.00
