I have purchased 3 Mr. Coffee coffee makers in the last year. One did not make hot coffee and as for the other two, the coffee tasted and smelled like burnt wiring. We finally purchased a Cuisinart, using the same brand of coffee, and the coffee was excellent. Sorry Mr. Coffee you just lost a good customer.

My new (2 mos.) 4-cup Mr Coffee has a terrible smell and the coffee tastes like the smell. The smell is in the well that the basket goes in. It's worse when it is turned on. The heat makes it worse. I've tried cleaning it out several times.

I cannot use it because the smell makes me ill.
