Benedicte of Jamesville, NY December 10, 2009 I have a lemon. I have had my LG refrigerator for less than 2 years. Unlike everyone else who have light that won't turn off, my lights won't turn on having something to do with the panel. Additionally, my icemaker didn't work after hardly any use at all. Three parts are required to fix this nearly new fridge. I had a Kenmore fridge for 10 years with no issues. They continue to give me the runaround because they don't want to take responsibility for their crappy 2500 product. It will cost me 800 in repairs and service. I will not rest until they take responsibility for it. Carolyn of Eureka, IL December 9, 2009 On Aug 13 2007 I purchased an LG French door refrigerator model LFC25760SB at Home Depot for 1400. In the last year the icemaker has had frequent problems like spilling over and jamming the drawer. The internal water line to the ice maker failed and caused a leak that has damaged our tile kitchen floor, cracking tiles and compromising the subfloor. Several months ago I noticed the freezer frosting and ice shrinking and taking a very long time to make. Then it got so warm in the freezer than an entire box of popsicles thawed and gooed the main bin and everything in it. I followed the manufacturers recommendations to "reset" the freezer and it helped minimally. After I finally gave up my denial over the failure of my 1400 unit, I called an LG authorize service company whose number LG has supplied me with, and was told that I had a "sealed system leak" that would in the end cost me 700 to repair. Before he came the freezer was reading about 20F degrees, it now is reading 27F degrees. I find reports similar to this on multiple websites so I know I'm not alone. One doesn't expect to buy a new fridge every two years and I recently lost my job. Most reports on the internet show that LG is unwilling to stand behind it's products, so I'm discouraged before I call back again. Paul of Everett, WA December 4, 2009 a small plastic piece that covers the handle to the frezzer well off, all i want is that small part that covers the end of the handle. lg wants to sell me the entire handle for 89.00 even though all i need is the cover that will break again. there is a serial # on the part and i know somewhere there is a bin full of these parts. i will pay for these parts but lg will not sell them to me Lisa of Broadview Hts, OH December 4, 2009 I have owned a LG Refrigerator for 10 months and the ice maker/dispenser constantly jams. After 8 service calls and over 50 phone calls their tech stated it is a defect and we are working on a fix. LG will not honor its warranty. They never return calls and keep making up excuses. They all need to be recalled! I will never buy another LG product in my life! Life is not good! It is a nightmare. Susmita of Kolkata, IN December 2, 2009 I have made a complaint regarding my lg Ref double door wherein a crack found. The service person came and after that one month passed no information or replacement from LG service center. I have spent Rs.15,000/ and now I am feeling lost. My money got wasted Susanne of Apopka, FL December 2, 2009 I purchased a LG Refrigerator Model#LFX25960ST back January 2008. Well Right before Thanksgiving on 2009, my ice maker just completely stopped working and I was told it is out of warranty. American Homeshield does not cover ice makers (what a joke this is, I am paying for a premioum policy and this is not covered) Trying to call LG once again because Canada gets a 2 year warranty and US get only a 1 year warranty. I do not feel it is my responsiblity to pay for a new ice maker when it is less than 2 years old. I come to find out this model has been discontinued and there are A LOT of complaints about the ice maker not working anymore. I feel it is a lemon and LG is not owning up to it. The second time I called LG the nasty customer service rep basically told me I am [out of luck]. Could you believe it? I will never buy LG again! This is killing me because I have been unemployed for almost 2 years and we are barely making it now. They are laying off at my husbands work once again and we dont know when he goes into work if this day or the next will be his last. We can not afford this type of expense. Cindy of Belwood, ON December 1, 2009 Woke up this morning to find that the light in our refrigerator had melted the plastic casing and that all of our food was hot! (The butter had actually melted in the butter dish!). Our fridge still smells really bad and the light cover has fallen right off. The plastic panel behind the lights has also melted and is bubbled. The light bulb sockets are black. I called LG customer service today and they gave me a case number and the name of a local appliance repair company to come and fix it. I am still waiting to see what will happen. Monique of Maple Plain, MN November 30, 2009 Don't Buy It! An LG Refrigerator! It's getting to the point that I'm telling everyone NOT to buy an LG! We have the LRFD22850TT. From day one, it was a nightmare. The refrigerator door seals have been replaced several times and needs to be replaced again. The ice maker UGH! Ice constantly falls out of the ice bin causing the freezer door not to close properly, which the sensor doesn't pick up so you end up with ice build up. I have to defrost the freezer every other week now. The cover to the light in the refrigerator melted. My husband opened the door and noticed that the fridge was warm inside and the cover was melted. How can LG produce such [expletive]! My mom was kind enough to purchase this thought-to-be wonderful product which turned out to be nothing but a LEMON. I'm just stressed out having to defrost a "FROST FREE" freezer every 1 1/2 - 2 weeks now. If you don't, the refrigerator shuts down. Lots of things breaking, melting, etc. No one has gotten hurt, just stressed. Dawn of Kissimmee, FL November 30, 2009 I purchased an LG Bottom Freezer/Refrig a little more than 3 years ago. I have had 3 service calls on my appliance that were just outside the warranty. I needed to have the main board and defrost controls replaced. After a screaming call to LG, they agreed to pay for the parts, but not the labor. A small victory, however, now the interior lights in my refrigerator stay on and have melted the cover. My husband and I loosened the bulbs and solved that part of the problem, but this occurred for no apparent reason. Don of Bloomington, IN November 28, 2009 We purchased a LG French Door Freezer on the bottom refrigerator two years ago. We had trouble from the start and were told that all of our problems were our fault. Such as the vegetables freezing etc. They did service it and replace some parts but it still has the same problems. HHGreg also provided no support after the purchase. We should have returned it. We have had strange noises, jamed ice maker, plastic parts breaking, and now that its past warenty the nice folks at LG say file a law suit. As US makers and stores flee to cheap labor nations, we get lousy products and people without jobs. I will never by an LG anything again. The posts on this site are like a stroll down LG memory lane. Life is Good if you are an LG CEO, but us spoiled food and food poisoning. Report Your Experience
