I purchased an LG refrigerator in January of 2007. I did not buy an extended warranty. When the fridge was 8 months old the freezer stopped working. I had it repaired under warranty. In 2007, I had to call for repair when the freezer failed again. Two months ago a plastic clip on the fridge door fell off and now both doors have to be closed extremely carefully each time fridge is opened. The latest thing is the fridge shuts off. First I thought it might be an electrical breaker (we have an old home) but now realize it is the circuit board in the fridge. This is a major problem and will likely cost at least 650. My old, 2nd hand fridge worked for 20 years. I bought the high end LG thinking it would last and be more energy efficient. I plan to replace the stove/oven & dishwasher soon- would I buy another LG appliance? NEVER.

we purchased this lg refridgerator for our elderly mother (age 76) because of the lower freezer compartment. At the time we did not know that it was a fire hazzard. She lives alone and this past sunday when we were with her i opened up the fridgerator compartment and noticed that the food and compartment was warm.

on futher inspection when the lights were bright and very hot we noticed that the upper controll panel had meltrd away from its srews and was hanging free with the lights still on even you push the buttons to simulate that the doors are shut giveng access to exsposed wires. We brought this product on the basis of the Kenmore-Lg reputation.

i guess we should have done more research. We are out of 1,800 dollars for a piece of junk. is this what we get for being lyoal to the kenmore products and believing in [their] company. we have a refrigerator that is a hazzard

I have a LG French Door refrig model # LFX25960ST that nearly caught fire. The interior lights which has 2 60 watt bulbs wouldn't shut off when door closed, heating up plastic and nearly melting. I had too unplug for period of time to unscrew bulbs and prevent further hazard. Looking online this appears to be a concern with others and should be a recall as potential fire hazard.

LG front load washing machine causes clothes and towels to have a disgusting musty odor even when I do the many steps required to stop this.We were never told about "maintenance' when we bought the washing machine nor that at almost 80 years of age we would have to get down on our knees twice a month as only one task wirh a tube at the very bottom of the machine

We have been married for 49 years and have never had to do the tasks required to have a washing machine. If anyone had told us, we would have surely bought a different machine. Even so, the clothes still smell disgusting. We are at a loss to know what to do next!

We own a LG Model #LFX25960XT refrig with bottom freezer. We had issues of parts breaking & hairline cracks on drawers/shelves within 3 mos. of purchase. After 3 wheels had fallen of & shelves breaking we went to Home Depot where we purchased the product, Sinse LG wouldn't honor those breakages because warenty covered only mechanical parts. Home Depot folk were great in cataloging parts & ordering new parts for us which we replaced at home. 3 weeks ago the freezer(on bottom) defrosted. At first I thought the ice maker was acting up. After calling the repair # given (this happened on a Fri) A date was scheduled & the repair person didn't show.

Meanwhile the freezer started to work & after a few days items were put back into the freezer. 1 week later a service guy was able to come & he checked the freezer thoroughly but because it was now working he had nothing to fix. At least I have documentation of the issue in case our warrenty runs out & it happens again. Do not know if LG would honor it anyways. We think the workman ship on this LG unit is extremely cheap & will stay away from LG in the future as our LG dishwasher is now making wierd noises .

Purchased LRFD 25850TT refrigerator Serial #509krmk00091 at Home Depot on 10/05. I called while under warranty to relay that it was frosting & freezing up in the freezor all over including the ice and food and outside of the plastic on the drawers... this was while in warranty and said I did't need a repair man. They replied on the phone that I must have left the freezor ajar and to unplug and totally defrost it. An of course after warranty, this same thing has occured so many times plus the ice maker causing problem etc. At this point, the freezor internal plastic parts have all cracked, and the top shelf dropped down , the slides are cracked , the outside at the bottom is cracked. I'm 68 and this refrigerator is LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD, and I've hated it since the beginning of the trouble. Can't take it anymore.

Went out tonight and bought another refrigerator, on sale over 3000.00. My nerves are totally shot & my husband is tired of helping me unload, defrost and go through the process another time. Will also take pictures of it. Thought it would last the rest of my life. Wrong. It's going bye-bye. No more high blood pressure and tears. I have fibromyalgia and the wear and tear on neves and body of loading and unloading wont take it anymore, plus a phonecall while on vacation from house watcher that check all refrigerators (2)and deep freeze. CAN'T WAIT TILL THURSDAY, SEPT 17, 09

Don of Fallbrook, CA September 15, 2009

We bought an LG refrigerator Model LRSC 26915SW just 4 1/2 years ago and have always had a problem with the ice over-flowing. To top it off, once the ice machine is full, water starts dumping into and then freezing in the freezer compartment. I learned to let the ice run out and then turn it on for just one day.

On 9/13/09 I poured my wife a glass of water and then went to pour mine, but it wouldn't. After reading all the complaints about LG, I feel lucky to have only a few issues in a short time. I will never buy again, as they have serious issues.

patricia of oakwood, IL September 15, 2009

have lg refrigerator model lsc27910. the icemaker does not work right. it is very loud when running to dispense ice and then no ice comes out when there is plenty of ice in bucket. the button to push for ice sticks and ice goes all over floor. it drops ice in bucket so loudly it wakes me up at night. i have never had such a bad icemaker and have had many refrigerators. will never buy lg again.

Maureen of Carlsbad, CA September 14, 2009

We purchased an LG refrigerator in 2004 and have had problems with the ice maker since purchased. LG inspected it and dismissed any problems. One year later, LG extended my warranty to have the ice maker replaced. It still has never worked and I have written the President, K. I. Kwon, twice. The executive service team, G. Murphy, asked me to fax the proof of purchase, which I did. He then called a few days' later stating that they would not cover any service.

I have a "lemon" of a refrigerator and I believe many others do as well. LG knows they have this problem, I am sure, but cannot repair it to the customer's satisfaction. The ice maker freezes and keeps making ice, therefore, I cannot turn it off. It is frozen and the ice continues to explode all over my freezer food. Also, when I open the freezer, all the ice comes out on the floor.

Norm of Spencerport, NY September 13, 2009

I have an LG French door refrigerator that is only 1 1/2 years old (LFC25760SB). The control board that controls the interior lights failed and caused to lights (60 Watt) not to turn off. The interior control unit, mounted on the top inside of the fridge began to smoke and melt. It was hanging down by wires and too hot to touch. I see by others comments that this os a design flaw in many models that if not corrected wil cause a fire and potentially loss of life. I plan to contact the BBB, Underwriters Liabratory and my Attorney General to raise this issue. LG needs to be made responsible for repairs or replacement of these refridgerators. This is a FIRE HAZARD that needs to be corrected.
