Another LG Product that does not work - I bought an LP0910WNR to go inside a fifth wheel RV I am renting. AC worked great when it was cooler outside. Now that it is 107 degrees outside, it will not cool. I found a review that said this is a safety feature, according to the LG service desk. It goes back with a message to Home Depot to quit carrying LG products. Maybe if enough people complain to HD, maybe they will quit carrying this junk. LG slogan "Life's Good" should be changed to "Low Grade".
Consumer Complaints & Reviews

LG voided warranty based on inaccurate assessment of install - Late last year, I bought and installed an LG LP0910WNR freestanding, portable air condition unit from Home Depot. After failing to cool the room, I called LG who sent their repairman William to inspect the unit. He stated that the unit was installed incorrectly due to obstruction caused by a screen on the window and that it wasn't plugged into its own circuit. He also claimed that many people misunderstood the installation instructions and even recounted a call he had made where the exhaust hose was stretched across the room to be vented outside and that was not how it was supposed to be done. Note that at no time during his visit did he state that any of what I had done voided any kind of warranty.
Immediately, I had my suspicions about the product: Why is the hose as long as it is if the unit can't operate without breaking with it fully stretched? Obviously, it wasn't only me that had a misunderstanding about the installation of the unit and that the instructions were not clear. Of the hose, the manual states "Do not block the air inlet or outlet of the air conditioner. Reduced air flow will result in poor performance and could damage the unit". As a layman, my understanding of "reduced air flow" did not really include a screen. In fact, in the hose itself at the exhaust end, there is a screen included with the unit.
William lamented that he didn't know why LG marketed the unit as a consumer unit when it really takes a professional to install it, specifically because he had to be called out to correct what he perceived to be LG's marketing failure. In fact, marketing for the unit at different electronic retailers on the web state, "Not really an installation kind of person? Don't worry. Most of us aren't. That's why we make portable air conditioners". William mentioned that really the unit needed to be vented to the outside via a hole in the wall and not through the window, even though the instruction manual devotes at least six pages to proper window installation.
Regardless, I fixed the noted install issues: I plugged the unit into its own circuit, I removed the screen and installed the hose with no obstruction to the outside. Although the hose wasn't "excessively" stretched before, I made sure that it traveled no more than 4-5 feet until terminating at the window. The unit itself stands next to the window and its intakes are unobstructed. I insulated the hose with temperature resistant black foil used normally in photography shoots where the lights get hot enough to light paper on fire to prevent exhaust heat leakage into the room. There are many people in my household as well as visitors that can verify that I took these steps.
After doing so, indeed the unit lasted through the summer and easily kept the room cool. However, near the end of the summer (maybe 2 or 3 months or so afterwards), the compressor broke. I called LG and they sent a repairman (not William) to look at the unit. They confirmed the unit was broken while it was installed in its previously operational configuration. At no time during the visit did the repairman mention anything about an incorrect install of the unit. In fact, the repairman ordered a part so that he could install it on an subsequent visit. On the day of the repair, my dad had emergency health issues and I had to cancel the repair visit. Once his health issues had been addressed, it was winter, so I saw no need to continue repair of the unit and did not pursue it again until April of 2012.
In the meantime, since the unit was not functioning, I removed the hose from my window (to ensure no heat leaked out of the window in the winter) and replaced the screen. This April, LG again sent a repairman at my request after explaining my dad's health issues. The repairman who showed up was William, the original LG repairman. William informed me that he could not honor the warranty because the air conditioner was not installed correctly and attributed the failure of the unit's compressor to this mis-installation. Even after explaining that the screen was replaced and the hose taken down after the unit broke and became useless, he refused to honor the warranty citing that he had originally annotated a mis-installation from his first visit.
Note, Again, William did not mention anything about a voided warranty on the unit on his first visit. LG markets the unit as consumer/layman-friendly. William mentioned that many people installed it incorrectly, at least initially. LG technical support and a second visiting repairman fully intended to repair the unit, going as far as ordering a part for it and at no time did LG or that second repairman mention a voided warranty after personal inspection of the unit. On his second visit, William initially based his judgement on the configuration of the unit after I had uninstalled it for the winter. He then changed his story referring to his annotations of the original mis-installation. To paraphrase: "If I had seen the window without the screen or the hose piped through a hole in the wall, it would have been a different story".
This leads me to these conclusions: LG implied through the packaging on the box and marketing on the internet that its LP0910WNR can be easily installed by an average layman consumer, although in actuality for it to operate properly, a professional with air conditioning expertise is required. LG failed to honor repair of the unit on grounds that are tenuous at best. LG has created a product and repair situation that is unfair to the consumer.

I purchased a window air conditioner unit LG from Home Depot. I took the unit, installed and guess what happened? It did not blow cold air at all. I took it back and exchanged for another LG. Again, it did not function properly and keep shutting off. I live in Florida, the summertime started earlier this 2012. I will never recommend or buy another low quality LG unit to include any electronics, follow the roots and find out who makes the LG because as long I live, I will make sure that anybody I know won't buy them.

The LG window unit flooded my office floor due to a dirty filter. From day one, it has made more noise than a lawn mower with a bad muffler. You get what you pay for but should you have to suffer damages due to a filthy design, it has not enough drain holes in the pan. I am waiting for the court date for a $2000.00 damage suit.

I called the LG 1-800-243-0000 number and was told there would be a $75 service charge plus parts and labor. I purchased my Window A/C unit on 9/14/09. I cannot put my energy saver on mode as the unit freezes over, then I have to turn it off, all the water runs in the floor when it defrosted and I have to mop all the water up.
When I called that number, your rep tech told me I needed to run the A/C on 82 degrees. Well if that is the case, no need for A/C as some nights it is 82 degrees here. He was very rude, told me I needed to clean my filter every week, and I clean it every three months. He also told me my unit did not have energy saver and I was standing in front of my A/C reading all the functions with all the controls on it. He had no clue what I was talking about.
I will never buy another LG product as long as I live. It was the worst conversation I had ever had with a rep. He did not know what he was talking about. He was rude and disrespectful. I called on July 26, 2011, around 8 or 8:15 p.m.
I am very dissatisfied and I will tell my friends that LG has the most unsatisfactory service that I have been exposed to! I will further seek and find a name brand that will stand behind their product, and have faith in their warranty.

After careful consideration and reviewing of the quality of merchandise, I concluded that LG air conditioners suck. It had no adequate drain hole; water drained on the inside wall resulting to damage, and it is not cooling after two years of usage.

I have called LG service here in Qatar to fix the A/C that I have bought in March 2011. I have been informed that their people will come next day, which is Tuesday, 5/24/2011. However, until now no one shows up. After repeated follow-up calls with their call center, the only thing they are able to say is that our maintenance guy will call me when he is free or willing to come. On the other side, I have spoken to Samsung who promised to come on Thursday. They already did! Since I bought 2 A/Cs from LG, I now need to return them back due to that poor service, especially that we live in a country where we are not able to live without A/C for an hour.

From the very day I purchased this Lg 1.5 ton split AC 2009 from Uttam Sales, Bistupur, Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), I am having this problem with the water outlet from the interior unit. Despite repeated requests and complains to the dealer and service centre to replace the AC which was under warranty, nothing materialized. Thrice or four times they sent a service centre executive saying my problem will be solved and there is no need to replace the entire unit because the problem remains the same.
After getting serviced, it works for a few days but the problem remains the same due to the interior walls are getting damped and there is flurry of water drops on the bed and the longer we keep the AC on, the water drops get faster and we have to switch off the AC and then again, we switch it on later for some time and this has to be done again.
Now, I have decided not to make any complaint to the dealer or the service centre as I know it's going to be of no use. If I don't get the entire unit changed in a week, I will take some serious measures to get rid of this problem.
Regular flow of water drops on the wall are making it damp. The sleeping bed gets wetter, damaging the mattress and the wooden part swells up damaging the wood. Due to the dampness in the walls, we have to get the walls painted regularly or else it spoils the show of the room. The biggest of all problems is the repeated on/off of the machine to avoid water drops on the bed especially in the night causing a lot of harassment.

Re: LG Air Conditioner Model LT1010CR ; Serial # 801TAMA00435 9800 BTU for 440Sq Feet I leave in one apartment of 240 Sq Feet and on August 21, 2010, I purchased from P.C. Richard Store # 56, an Air Conditioner 4800 BTU, valid for 440 Sq Feet which I paid in full. Store Invoice # 56-1852045-1/08.21.09. I am disappointed because your the Air Conditioner which was calculate and built to cool an area of 440 Sq.Feet is not doing the job.
On August 2010, being hot weather I used for the first time, I keep it at 60 F and the room temperature went down only up to 80 or 81 F .In this situation, I called LG which sent persons from three companies:
3.1 A&E Appliance Sales & Service: 367 North Ave; New Rochelle, NY 10801; 914-576-4006 #8565 person name Errol (undecipherable what he wrote) he said that need welding, but he did not pick up the AC to do the welding.3.2 L.G. Service work order date 07.20.10; Rising Service Solutions Inc.; 478 11th Street; 201-944-5500; Receipt RNM100716073101; the Factory Trained Technician; Chang- pick up the AC and returned. Unit Fixed & Returned- (not what he did to the unit)
3.3 On 08.07.10 came from: Dynamic Appliances Sales & Services 1852 Bronxville Ave; Bronx, NY 10462; 718-824-2400, checked the AC temperature which was find 60F. Temp in room still seat 80F. and even after that, the AC does not work properly cooling the area half smaller then he was calculated and build for. After I shot off, in the room start to be warm, because the cool air which was sent by the AC is stopped. Therefore this product does not have a satisfactory quality, fit for the purpose described as laid down by the law. Years back I had an AC 5.000 BTU for one apartment: 2 bedrooms, leaving and dining room. I kept it in leaving room but after a while when I shot it off in the room was nice and cool not like this AC.
To be mentioned that on July 23.2010 I wrote a complain to LG. Customer Service; 13850 Manchester Rd.; Ballwin, MO 63011, which did not answer me even until I am writing to you this letter. (certify mail receipt # 70006-2150-0001-0952-3418). If I want to have this condition, I should not pay $540.99 for the AC, I could receive cool area using the ventilator. In this case because the product build and sold by LG did not done the purposed job, I which to have the necessary approval to return it and to receive my money back.

The compressor on my air conditioner is going out it makes a big sound when it kicks on and off, I called and they said I need the sales receipt. They have worked on it the last 2 years for leaks and never ask me for the receipt. It blows out cold air one minute and hot the next. Still have 3 years left on warranty.
Can you help? My wife cannot walk and has to sit in hot house because I cannot find receipt even though they worked on it the past 2 years. I got it from home depot on 6/08/2008.

I bought 2 lg air conditioners from home depot, a 24500 and a 8000 air conditioners on June 2 2010. They both now needed service. The 24500 needed drain holes drilled. The 8000 needs a compressor. Now the repair shop took it and when I called them they had it for 2 weeks now and when I called them they say the part is on a boat and they can't tell me when it will be done. They are in the middle. LG policy is that way. Now I have been with out this air for a month. If you count the time I waited for the repair man to come for the appointment when I call LG they say in plain words, I'm screwed. I have to play the waiting game. Now the air is less than 3 months old. I feel I have been abused because I am not a loud person.
My poor husband has heart disease and really needs the air. I am not trying to be drama but its not right to be treated that way. I'm a team player but come on, is there any law that says if a appliance is under 3 months and goes bad they will replace it or any help you can give me? Oh yea and when I bought these airs I gave away my old ones. Who would have thought this would happen? Please help me. I have to use extra fans and plenty of showers to keep cool and drinks

Victory installed 2 split AC units manufactured by LG in June 2009. I turned them on this June, and after a few days, one of the units failed with a code C6. Victory has made 6 service calls, and it has replaced fluids, sensors, the control panel, and the compressor. It still will not stay running. It fails after a few hours with the same code C6. There is a warranty of 2 years for parts and 3 years for the compressor.
I am out $99.99 for labor, and I am being charged $431.00 for the control board replacement. I do not handle the heat well, and we have had 90 degrees plus Fahrenheit weather for over a month now. I want the unit repaired or replaced, or I want a full refund. The installation and parts cost over $6K for the 2 units.

Two years ago, I purchased an LG Air conditioner from Home Depot. It is a model LWH08000RY6 and was to be used as a bedroom A/C unit. We placed it in a window in the bedroom and it was the worst thing I have ever heard. It rattles and bangs when the compressor starts and is very loud. It cycles on and off almost constantly, so the noise goes on and on. We moved it to another window, but the results were the same. We then moved it to another room, but got the same results. I called for warranty service and a technician came to my home to look at the machine. He said that there was nothing wrong with the machine.
We again placed it in a bedroom and it keeps me up all night shaking the walls, the window etc. We have a friend who also bought the same A/C unit and complains about the noise. After the second year of this, we placed it in the window for the 2010 season. It is louder than ever with its banging and vibrations. Since the initial visit by the technician was at the end of the first season of use (approximately 2.5 months), I did not figure that calling would get me any results. I have other A/C units in my home. None are LG and they are quiet and efficient and work fine.
Be assured that I will never buy any LG product in the future. I don't care what kind of rating they get or how reasonable the price. This product has taught me a valuable lesson, stick with the brands you know and have confidence in. That surely is not LG. I am sure the unit is defective in some way, but they will never own up to that. So I spent the money to fix the problem.
After suffering through the noise for the past three weeks (since A/C unit was again placed in the window), we decided to buy a new A/C unit for the bedroom. I have a GE unit which is quiet and works fine. The unit is 4 or 5 years old. So today, I purchased a GE A/C unit for a total cost of $190.00. We brought the unit home and placed it in the window. It is cooling the room fine, and you cannot even tell it is on. It does not vibrate, bang or shake the wall. This proves to me that there is something wrong with the machine. I would not even give it away, let alone consider trying to sell it.

We bought an LG air conditioner 3 years ago and it has never worked right. Two years ago we had to have a new control board installed as it would not shut off. We never used it last year. This year we turned it on and it never shut off. For something we have only used one or two times in three years - I would never purchase a product from them again.
When you call on the phone, you cannot understand the person you are talking to. We are currently waiting for a technician to come out and look at our air conditioner again. It is still under warranty and am hoping we do not have a problem as I have no intentions of paying for any labor or parts!

Actually, we purchased an AC at Faiz & Co on 21st April 2010. Later, installation was fitted on 23rd of April but the fitted AC fails to work. They told that they send the persons to service the AC. Until now, no response was given to us. We have made a call to LG customer service more than 50 times but no actions ever took place.

Last week, I had requested for servicing ( washing & cleaning) of 4 Split A/Cs installed at my home before using these units this summer. The units were purchased in 2008. I was told that due to work load, it will take two to three days to undertake the work. I agreed to this but am disappointed that even after the passage of six days the work has not been undertaken. I had bought LG units as I thought that Customer support will be good. Please ensure that the servicing is done on 29/3/10. I tried to lodge complaint on LG Pakistan website but instead of "Submit" button I get "Browse" which leads to nowhere.

Purchased a window unit air conditioner/heater model LWHD7000HRY7 (7000 btu) from home depot to be installed in new construction. Room to be conditioned is 200 sq ft with standard height ceiling. No windows, one door and entire room is insulated with the best insulation you can use, closed cell spray foam insulation in ceiling and walls. The heater was first used this fall. This unit will not heat the room. Never reaches 70 degrees, never cycles off and the air emitted from the discharge is barely warm as discerned by the touch. LG's authorized warranty representative AusTech appliance says that is as good as they operate. There is supposedly nothing wrong with a heater that doesn't heat. This unit is worthless.

Less than 3 months old - the ac went on FIRE in the middle of the day, causing extensive damage to the boat.
What's even worse, is that althought the Fire Department investigated and found definte cause of the fire to be the ac, LG denied liability, proabably because they would be not only liable to pay for the damages, but for a recall of their potentially devestating destructive product. Imagine if this unit was in your childs bedroom. I do have phots to back this up and a fire deparment report.

Purchased a LG Mini Split Air Conditioner Model # LAN-125-HV in March of 2009, the unit has been "repaired" for the same error code C6 three times and to date still does not run. I am so frustrated with their customer service and their product that I want a refund and reimbursement for my out of pocket expenses for the labor.

I got an advice to contact Mr. M.
When I contacted, he came on next day and told that Condenser is to be changed. After that he did not turn up to my house. Even though I made repeated complaint to the above said numbers( including to Mr. J) my A.C is not yet (30.08.2009 1300Hrs)repaired or even bouthered to make an attempt to repair.
I am unable to repair in my own since the product comes under warranty.Whenever I try to contact Mr. M , his mobile is switched off. Now I am fed up with your service, and feel not to purchase any LG products in future. This type of poor, irresponsible service is to be brought to the knowledge of CSD officials and (General)the public .I do not know that this type of problem comes only for me or a general problem. However you are requested to look in to it seriousely.

i am having an LG 1.5 ton aircondition which is having some problem becouse of that there is no cooling, i have given complines to the costomer care about the same, but naina cool traders which is the autrised service center for LG is not ready to replace the compressor of the A/C which is under warrenty.. so becouse of that i am facing many problems.
