Krups

---

Kim of Tigard OR (11/01/08)
We have had our Krups FME2 coffee maker for 6 months. Although it used to make great coffee (and good & hot too!), Saturday morning (can't call the customer line) it tells me that there is no water in the reservoir. Well, of course there is! Also, even though in Portland, Or we have some of the softest water on the planet, this machine needed to be descaled about once a month. What a pain. I will be buying a new coffee maker today, but after reading all of your comments, it will not be a Krups!

No damage, just morning coffee withdrawls. :^(

I have a 2-3 year old model 229 Krups coffee maker and as with some of your other complaint filers, was very surprised when I poured in the cold water only to be blasted with hot spraying water and steam. Like the others reported, the switch seems to function normally as does the light, but the unit intermittently remains on and hot to the touch even when it is switched off and the red light is out.

Very serious fire hazard and safety hazard. The unit is very warm to the touch and the steam blast is right at face level. The units should be recalled and repaired or replaced at Krup's expense.

I have the same problem as Don of Shadow Hills CA reports; my Krups Aroma Control coffee maker heating element stays on all the time, even when the switch is set to off. This problem started recently, after about two years of incident-free use. Given what I've read here about Krups' customer service, I'm not even going to waste my time calling. Nor will I buy another of their products.

Had to buy a new coffee maker.

I got a FMF514 model coffee maker for a wedding gift. Shortly after we started using it we noticed that the door that holds the coffee filter tray would not stay in the coffee maker & would fall out every time we used it. Upon close examination it appears that the appliance is defective as the hole in the coffee maker for the door was drilled in the wrong place. We can't use and and have gone back to using our Mr. Coffee coffee maker.

Loss of use of the coffee maker as it was defective from day one, not fit for its intended purpose.

When new, I sent Krups an e-mail how much I had always liked Krups products and this is why I purchased my new Krups Aroma Control type 229. I told them my problem; it would leave the water in the reservoir/upper tank with the grounds. I have been fighting with my coffee pot for two years! It is going to the trash! I cant believe they didnt send me the part to fix it or ask me to send it back.

If I make a large pot of coffee water flows all over the counter. If I make a small pot all the water stays in the tank with the grounds. Krups told me of the problem but not how to solve it.
