We purchased a new KitchenAid stand mixer about 4 years ago. The machine has less then 2 hours of run time on it.We called the KitchenAid service center and asked them why it was leaking oil. We were told by custumer service that we must run the mixer 2-3 minutes every week or it will start to leak oil. We have read the manual that came with the mixer and no where does it tell us that we must run the mixer each week or it will leak oil.KitchenAid appears to have a problem with these mixers and they seem to be unwilling to stand behind a defective product.

At this point I do not want to put any money into the repair of this mixer. Reading the reviews from other owners, it seems like a on going problem even after repairs are made.

After 5 to 10 uses of our new mixer, it only works on the fastest speed. It is virtually new, but past the warranty period.

Kitchen aid mixer Well add me to the list of people with leaking oil. I was shocked to see this brown gunk leaking when I was making a cake. After looking in the phone book there is not even any repair places in the area I live in so I'm not sure what to do next.

This stand mixer is a piece of c#@p!! We've hardly used it and now the mixer won't turn. I suspect plastic gears inside have failed, and we're now past the 1 year warranty period. For an iconic product, I couldn't be more disappointed. Whirlpool and Kitchenaid should be ashamed of themselves.

After using this mixer for x-mas cookies for the last 6 yrs the mixer is leaking oil- after paying 300+ for a quality machine not to mention the attachments- this is extremly frustrating.

Loss of the value of the mixer and the attachments that go with it. THis mixer is marketed as a mixer that will last!
