Mixer capacity misrepresented - Professional Series advertised at 14 cups of flour capacity but can barely handle 6 without overheating and stopping. Piece of junk.

When I pulled the mixer out of the cupboard to make this year's holiday cookies, I found an oil leak under it. I didn't think anything of it, supposing that something must have spilled. Later after mixing a couple of batches, I noticed that there was something brown dripping from the metal collar above. Sure enough, it was oil. I did a search and this site came up. I am outraged as well. Probably about 5 years ago, my mother, proud owner of a 30 yr old Kitchenaid mixer, bought me a Kitchenaid Classic.

After reading all the posts, I realized that I would have no luck with the KA customer service ctr, but will try anyway in the morning. They need to hear from all of us. Also, I find it absurd that we are suppose to run the product so frequently. I do not use the mixer often, only a few times a year. I will go back to my little Sunbeam handheld mixer that has held up for 15.5 years. I just got off the phone with my mom warning her to stop buying the Kitchenaid mixer as wedding gifts. She was very sad to hear that the product no longer stands for the quality it represents. She will stop buying the mixer.

I had a 5-quart Kitchenaid mizer for many years. In 2007 I purchased the 6 quart Professional Kitchenaide. It worked most of the time the first year -- shutting off seemingly at random. This December when I tried to use the 1-year-old mixer to made bread, it would not run on any speed except the very fastest. When I added flour to the bowl, the mixer went crazy and whirled flour everywhere - in my eyes, in my hair, and all over the kitchen. It ran so unbelievably fast I had to hold the mixer on the counter or it would have whirled itself off onto the floor.

I paid a lot of money for the mixer, and of course the warranty is no longer in effect. I a very engry about this because when I bought the Kitchenaid, I thouught I was buying a quality product. They certainly charge for a quality product, but they don't deliver one. There is no place in my town that will repair it, and I have a feeling the repairs would cost more that the mixer is worth.

When I bought the Mixer, I purchased 3 extra bowls, the ice cream maker, and the food grinder attachment. What do I do now? I think Kitchanaid should stand my their product. Hobart used to make these stand mixers, but I think they probably don't make them any more. I want my money back!

After using my kitchen aide mixer,i noticed brown oil with metal shards leaking out of my mixer.I moved it off the counter and there was a few drips of this oil on the counter.I freaked out because i don't know if any of this has entered into my food and how long this has been going on.I called the 1-800 number and was told it was up to me to deal with it as it has exceeded it's warranty.I asked the man on the other end if there has been a recall considering there are 100's of complaints on the internet and this web site of the same brown oil leaking from their mixers and he said no.

In fact,it took him 5 mins. to even find my mixer on their computer. After telling him i wanted to lodge a formal complaint about this,i asked him where i would go to have it looked at. He told me Victoria or Kelowna.I live 10 mins. from downtown Vancouver, and i have to take a 4 hr. ferry ride costing 90.00 to get on the ferry or drive 6 hours to Kelowna which is a small town in the interior of B.C??? Those are the only places he could give me.Considering this is such a common problem there must be something i can do.

I have no idea what to do now.Do i take it to someone who is not acredited and risk them breaking it worse or just throw it out??I paid 300.00 for it.I've heard that some of the people who have managed to fix theirs have spent about 100.00 to fix theirs.

I bought Artisan Stand Mixer made by KitchenAid, pink colour (their Cook for the Cure campaign). Brought it home, turned on - it sqeaked like rusted weel, but was doing the job. I used it sparingly, however, after two years it failed - the motor could not turn the attachment.

Contacted the company, asked if there was no known defects, or problematic lots/recalls - no response.

Wrote a letter to the officer in charge of Brand development - received a recorded message on my phone Go and fix your mixer. Wrote another letter to brand development officer - it came back with an inscription: no such a person at this address. Went on the Internet, found that the brand was totally dead - I was one of the loosers who was fooled by the previous reputation of the company, 500 Canadian donated to corporate crooks.
