I like the other consumers thought I was buying a product that would be around for along time. I purchase the kitchenaide Stand mixer two years before I retired so it would be available for me. We did not use it very often prior to my retirement. I was surprised during the process of mixing ingredients for two fruit cakes to see oil being mixed into the batter. My biggest supprise came from the number of complaints about this problem by other consumers. No one seems to care

As a retire you don't get to go out ever year or so and replace a three hundred dollar mixer. The fruit for the cakes were lost and I had to buy fruit cakes for the holiday.

I purchased a KitchenAide stand mixer, model KSM150PSER three and a half years ago when my 25 year old Sunbeam finally gave out after years of hard work. As the kids had moved out, I have probably used the KitchenAide only about a dozen times, and it worked fine until today. It suddenly stopped working while I was making cookies. Actually, I was beating the sugar and butter and eggs, which is the soft, easy stuff. We can hear it turn on, but the beater won't turn. I went on-line to find parts, and camae across your website. I am so disappointed to read so many similar testimonials. I, too, thought I was purchasing a quality product, but am now disapointed.

Just adding my voice to the chorus. My heavy duty mixer is not leaking oil yet, but that may only be because it is unusable. I'm hoping that only a shear pin broke, along with the plastic housing. It is certainly not capable of handling the ingredient quantities stated in the instruction manual. Shame on Whirlpool.

Poor design and manufacturing forces the purchase of replacement parts.

I bought my second Kitchen Aid stand mixer almost two years ago. As I was using it the whisk beater broke two wires; then just like the first one I had it started leaking oil. I was mixing cake icing.

Oil got into my food.

I bought a KitchenAid Professional Series 600 stand mixer because the motor was supposed to be strong enough to withstand the kneading of bread dough for prolonged periods of time. I have used this mixer for two years and last week made a batch of brioche which requires kneading for 15 minutes. It started to make a grinding sound so I booked a service appointment.

In the meantime I looked online and found that the transmission is made of plastic. PLASTIC! How will this be able to stand up to dough kneading? It doesn't. Now I can't be sure that it will be replaced with metal and so this will become a problem again. I need a new stove and although I had been told that KitchenAid is a good brand I will not EVER buy another kitchenaid product again. It's on my list with Sony and Bionnair. Duds, all of them.

Unresolved.
