I have had problems with the kitcheaid wall oven model KEBS208DBS10 since at least 2001...Numerous parts were replaced repeatedly. Last year the oven was almost rebuilt with parts (at this point i had purchased an extended warranty since the oven had been so unrealiable) and was told by kitchenaid that if the problems repeated themselves they would replace the oven..NOW they have no record of stating that and i am having to have service again to again replace the same parts.

Kitchenaid's service was unacceptable during their warranty period..the oven should have been replaced then....and now i am at the mercy of the warranty company as to the repairs and i am having to contiinue to purchase the extended warranty to over a 2500 oven that has never worked and i cannot afford to replace. I avoided autocleaning since this seems to be the factor that most often preceeds the breakdown of the oven. I have had to hand clean it. HORRIBLE product...HORRIBLE service.

I'll just add my statement to all the others. My 2 yr old Superba stainless steel, expensive Kitchenaid model #KUD501DJSS0 is a piece of junk! We have had at least 15 service calls, replaced the door seal twice, the electronic control panel once, unjammed the grinder twice, replaced the nonfunctioning heating coil, the inside metal door panel, etc etc.

Today I ran it empty with a cleaning solution and afterwards found thick gummy debris caked around the runners and baskets. I almost think it's unsafe to use, on top of the fact that the dishes are never completely clean and need rewashing. Sears claims it's Kitchenaid's problem and Kitchenaid gives out standard replies, so I don't expect to get any compensation but I want to let people know NOT to buy this product---it's worthless!

My contractor installed a Kitchen Aid combo microwave/oven in the wall of my kitchen in 1998.

The service people who I've come to know from using their services so many times (11 or more service calls) tell me the oven is designed with a plastic locking mechanism that melts every time I clean the oven, so I must call a service person to release the lock and open the oven, before I can use it again. When I spoke to Kitchen Aid about this they told me I'd better keep my service plan current.

Six years ago, I purchased a built-in double oven from Kitchen Aid. During this time, I needed to replace the hinges four times. When I clean the oven, it blows the computer and it needs to always be replaced.

Needless to say, I don't clean my oven very much in fear that it will blow. I was told by a tech that it will always do that because it is defective.

In March we purchased a KitchenAid Ceramic top electric range from Sears. Just past the 30-day return period, two top burners stopped working. A repair person came and replaced them.

Less than two weeks later the other two top burners stopped working. The repair person returned. Then last Sunday, with 10 people coming to dinner, the oven quit working completely.

Now it is the week before Christmas (when I should be baking cookies that we traditionally give to neighbors, friends and children), and we are still waiting for a repair person.
