On about 12-5-99 I contracted JDC Roofing of Perth Amboy
NJ to re-roof my home. A full crew came on about 12-10-99
and completed 95% of the job.
They miscalculated the necessary material and ran out of roof
shingles. I was assured that he would be back in two days
with the materials and complete the job. I paid him $2,800
of the agreed upon $2,900 cost.
Needless to say it was three weeks before he showed up and
had the wrong materials. Since that time I have called him
about 30 times to find out when he'd be back....no calls have
been returned. I now have a 95% completed roof (very attractive).
When I was researching filing a complaint I noticed there
is no address listed with this company - only Perth Amboy
, NJ.
Damages are that I have an unfinished roof and the potential
for water damage (which was the reason for the new roof in
the first place).
Guess Joseph knows this by now, but this is why it's important
to know who you're dealing with. Always get the contractor's
full name and address and INSIST on seeing a copy of their
business license.
