In June of 2010, my mother hired Garden State Asphalt owned by Vick to seal coat and patch her driveway. Vick took her money and did the job. The following day, my boyfriend, stopped by to check on the job and realized that the driveway was patched incorrectly. The seal coat was applied so lightly that the coating was already chipping, 24 hours later!
My mom contacted Vick right away to come back and do the job the right way. He sent Pete from Integrity Paving over to "assess the damages." Turns out that Pete from Integrity bounced a check a few days prior to this event at Ocean County Recycling Center. Small world? Or just a low life thief? Needless to say, he was shocked to see my boyfriend when he arrived at my mom's house. Pete promised that he would make good on the bounced check as well as fixing the job for Vick.
The following day, Pete cut out an area of the driveway where the patch work was done and said that he would come back the next day with asphalt. That never happened. An entire week later, we heard from Pete. He said that his mother had passed away and he would come back the following week to finish the job. Again, that never happened, and Pete never came back. The Police were contacted and a report was filed.
My mom took Vick and Pete both to court and she got her money back. My boyfriend and one of his employees re-did the job for my mom and Pete also never made good on the bounced check at Ocean County Recycling Center. Vick, Pete, and his wife (who's name represents the business) all lied to us and don't deserve the opportunity to do work for anyone. From what I understand, Pete was just recently in jail and a Ocean County detective recently contacted my mother in reference to Vick because charges have been filed against him for operating a business without a license. Do not give Integrity Paving or Garden State Asphalt your business!
