Homelite Products

james of powell tn., TN June 2, 2009

I bought a 16" homelite chain saw. I used it about an hr. then it would not start. the warrenty 30 days was not up so home depot gave me another, now this one will not start, I only used it about 2 hr. but my warrenty of 30 is up. now I am stuck with a new saw that will not start, and I am very mad at these chainsaw and may never buy another one, unless something is done about this one. ps I have always used homelite products.

Wendel of Tomball, TX May 17, 2009

I purchased a 6.5 BTU window unit A/C from Home Depot, and nine months later it is now just a fan (weak blowing) in my window. I called the manufacturer to inform them and they said, "Since it's a 6.5 BTU, we do a "rebate". To put it bluntly, I HAVE TO GO BUY ANOTHER OF THEIR CRAPPY A/Cs then WAIT for them to mail me a check to cover it!!! I'M broke, okay? I used my stimulus check last year to buy it, and I don't have any money! Correct me if I'm wrong, but a WARRANTY, and a REBATE are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS! WARRANTY- An ASSURANCE for the fulfillment of a condition. REBATE- An amount subtracted from a sum... I don't know what to do, and my wife and I won't make it in this Texas heat without an air conditioner. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO? Thank You, Wendel Calvert Ticked off in Texas

I bought a homelite string trimmer in february of 2008 and this piece of equipment has been in the repair shop more than i have had it. when i talk to homelite they tell me that they will get it fixed and back to me as soon as possible but cant give me any idea of how long it is going to take.

this is the second or third time for the same problem which is the carburator andthis time it has been in the shop for more than 45 days and still no parts or trimmer please contact me as im about tired of this problem

I see where you had an article on recall on a homelite chain saw.I had a homelite gas string weed wacker and it was junk, even tried to replace parts and it still wouldn't work right. Getting it started was a chore.

I pulled and pulled till I was exhausted. Had enough and tossed it in the garbage. I see so many of their products being sold RECONDITIONED. I believe there all junk and won't even take one for free for all the irratation & aggravation trying to get the things to start much less make it work. The word Homelite means junk to me

What I paid for it and the repair parts and still would not work. Recommended buy DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. thought I'd let you know.

the fuel hoses from the carburetor to the fuel tank just came apart and spilled gasoline all over the front of my trousers and shoes before i could ascertain what was causing the fuel flow. i inspected where it was emanating from and discovered the fuel lines were broken off at the tank end with no method of repairing it

ruined a pair of my trousers (Dickies) Brand 34.95 and I have no way to repair this item. I only desire to have it repaired and I have no intention of bringing a law suit against the manufacturer. I only want it replaced or repaired.

I purchased a Homelite MightyLite 26cc Blower/Vac from Home Depot. I wanted to this as a dedicated tool to pick up leaves. After using it about 5 seperate times, anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour, the tool complete fell apart. This never happened with any tool I ever purchased before. The handle adapter broke, the upper portion of the fan started to melt, the upper portion of the upper volute started to melt, the heat sheld split in two, a screw fell out from the motor attachment, and a spacer over the motor shaft broke. I believe this tool was not made for this type of continuous use. I also believe that when the handle adapter broke this caused the motor shaft to be out of alignment which caused premature rubbing on components and heat build up. I also don't believe the plastic parts were made of high strength or high heat resistent material.

The blower/vac started making a terrible clunking noise which prompted me to turn it off. I took apart the blower/vac to determine the issue and noticed the premature wearing conditions on the parts I mentioned above. The blower/vac can not ever be used again without being for the most part completely rebuilt.
